Celebrating Sustainable Cooking Worldwide

Pasant Elzaitony_ Israa Farhat Every year on 18 June, the world celebrates Sustainable Gastronomy Day, a global call to value food traditions while embracing eco-friendly practices in kitchens and communities. This day emphasizes the role of cooking as a cultural legacy and its impact on sustainable food production and consumption. Sustainable gastronomy goes beyond recipes, it's about resourceful meal planning, supporting local farmers, and cutting food waste. In an era dominated by fast food marketing and processed meals high in saturated fats and calories, it reminds families to return to home-cooked, nutrient-rich meals made from local, seasonal ingredients. Key Goals of the Day: • Celebrate cultural and environmental diversity through traditional dishes that reflect regional identities. • Encourage sustainable consumption by reducing food waste and appreciating local produce. • Promote food awareness by understanding how what we eat affects ecosystems and economies. • Recognize the role of chefs in fostering healthier, more sustainable food choices. • Support the UN Sustainable Development Goals by contributing to food security and sustainable agriculture. read more 15 Ludicrous Cosplay Costumes That Will Blow You Away Watch... Elon Musk Activates Starlink in Iran Amid Internet Outages and Rising Tensions with Israel

Taarek Refaat Tech billionaire Elon Musk has activated Starlink satellite internet service in Iran, amid widespread internet outages across the country and escalating military tensions with Israel. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Musk confirmed that his company SpaceX had expanded Starlink's coverage to include Iran, stating that the move is aimed at providing 'free and uncensored access to the internet' during a period of regional instability. 'Starlink is now active in Iran,' Musk wrote. 'Our goal is to support connectivity and open communication when it is most needed. Since late Saturday, large parts of Iran have experienced severe internet disruptions, raising suspicions of deliberate information blackouts during ongoing military operations. Technical monitoring groups reported near-total outages in several regions, including Tehran, Ahvaz, and Mashhad. International human rights organizations have welcomed the Starlink activation, viewing it as a vital tool for maintaining digital access and freedom of expression in an increasingly restrictive environment. 'This could be a digital lifeline for millions of Iranians,' one advocacy group said. However, the Iranian government has not yet issued an official response, though experts anticipate a strong reaction given that the activation likely bypassed Iranian regulatory approval. This is not the first time Musk has sought to offer Starlink service to Iran. A similar offer was made in 2022, during a wave of domestic protests, but implementation was limited due to logistical and technical challenges. read more CBE: Deposits in Local Currency Hit EGP 5.25 Trillion Morocco Plans to Spend $1 Billion to Mitigate Drought Effect Gov't Approves Final Version of State Ownership Policy Document Egypt's Economy Expected to Grow 5% by the end of 2022/23- Minister Qatar Agrees to Supply Germany with LNG for 15 Years Business Oil Prices Descend amid Anticipation of Additional US Strategic Petroleum Reserves Business Suez Canal Records $704 Million, Historically Highest Monthly Revenue Business Egypt's Stock Exchange Earns EGP 4.9 Billion on Tuesday Business Wheat delivery season commences on April 15 News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand

Egypt Halts Gas Supplies to Some Industries amid Supply Disruption from East

Taarek Refaat The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced the activation of a previously prepared emergency plan for natural gas supply priorities in response to the military operations in the region and the disruption of gas supplies from the east. The ministry stated in a statement on Friday that natural gas supplies to some industrial activities will be halted, while power plants' diesel consumption will be increased to the maximum available amount. Coordination will also be made to operate some stations with diesel. This precautionary measure aims to preserve the stability of the natural gas network and prevent the need to reduce the electricity grid's load, pending the resumption of natural gas supply from the east. The ministry indicated that the three refueling vessels have already arrived in Egypt, with one vessel currently refueling and pumping gas into the national natural gas grid. The other two vessels are being prepared and docked at ports to begin pumping natural gas from them. read more CBE: Deposits in Local Currency Hit EGP 5.25 Trillion Morocco Plans to Spend $1 Billion to Mitigate Drought Effect Gov't Approves Final Version of State Ownership Policy Document Egypt's Economy Expected to Grow 5% by the end of 2022/23- Minister Qatar Agrees to Supply Germany with LNG for 15 Years Business Oil Prices Descend amid Anticipation of Additional US Strategic Petroleum Reserves Business Suez Canal Records $704 Million, Historically Highest Monthly Revenue Business Egypt's Stock Exchange Earns EGP 4.9 Billion on Tuesday Business Wheat delivery season commences on April 15 News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand
