Sasolburg couple arrested for selling pills and medicine
SASOLBURG – A couple aged 20 and 25 was arrested in Sasolburg on August 12 for selling Painagon cough syrup and Mylan Alprazolam tablets without a license. According to Fezile Dabi District police spokesperson Sergeant Josephine Rani, their detectives received information about the duo selling schedule five substances at a house in Sasolburg. 'Upon searching the house, the members discovered 58 full bottles of Painagon cough syrup and 22 Mylan Alprazolam 1.0mg full containers of tablets,' she said. Rani said the couple was arrested on the spot, and the substances were confiscated. 'They will appear before the Sasolburg Magistrate's Court soon on charges of selling schedule 5 substances without a license and selling schedule 5 substances other than at a chemist,' she said.

Man arrested for discharging a firearm in a municipal area
SASOLBURG.- A man has been arrested after shots were fired on a street in Zamdela. This after a police constable heading to work on Saturday (August 9), at about 06:45, heard several gunshots and saw an unknown African man running towards a silver BMW with a Gauteng Province registration, firing several shots. The member called for backup, and the suspect was found to be intoxicated and in possession of a firearm. Police spokesperson Sergeant Josephine Rani said that although the suspect's firearm license was valid, he was arrested and detained for discharging a firearm in a municipal area. The firearm was seized, and nobody was injured. The suspect is expected to appear in the Sasolburg Magistrate's Court on a charge of discharging a firearm in a municipal area.
