'Best response ever': Royal Family's very surprising comment on viral parody of Meghan and Harry's cringey 'Baby Momma' dance video

The Royal Family's official Instagram account has stunned followers by leaving a tongue-in-cheek comment on a video parodying Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's viral "Baby Momma" dance. British reality stars Jamie Laing, 36, and his pregnant wife Sophie Habboo, 30, filmed themselves recreating the now-infamous clip on the Grand Staircase of Buckingham Palace during an event hosted by King Charles III. The couple, who rose to fame on Made in Chelsea and now cohost a BBC Radio 1 show, were attending a reception on Wednesday afternoon to celebrate winners of the King's Trust Awards, an event recognising young people who have overcome adversity and made positive contributions to their communities. Also in attendance were high-profile ambassadors of the King's charity, including George and Amal Clooney, Dame Joanna Lumley, Charlotte Tilbury, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. "They said we couldn't film in Buckingham Palace," the father-to-be cheekily captioned the video on Instagram. But to the surprise of his 1.6 million followers, and likely the couple themselves, the Royal Family's official Instagram account commented: "We see you" with an open eyes and wink face emoji. The King's Trust account also chimed in, writing: "All of our attendees are very well behaved." The unexpected exchange quickly attracted thousands of likes and widespread praise from royal watchers, with many calling it "the best response ever". "@theroyalfamily best response ever! This really made me laugh," one user wrote, while another added: "This is brilliant!" A third chimed in: "@theroyalfamily in a world at times worrying and serious, this comment was so needed." British broadcaster Fearne Cotton, who also attended the palace reception, joined in on the banter, writing: "You also had your pap camera out with a flash. Think of what the flash has done to those priceless paintings." Even Formula One star Lando Norris reacted to the video, dropping a laughing emoji in the comments. While the Royal Family's social media account is run by staffers, it's understood that such comments are unlikely to be posted without senior approval. It comes as Prince Harry, 40, recently admitted his father "won't speak" to him, as tensions between the Sussexes and the monarchy continue to simmer. Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and now live in Montecito, California, with their two children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four. Earlier this month, Meghan posted a throwback clip celebrating Lilibet's birthday, showing her and Harry dancing in hospital to the "Baby Momma Dance Song" ahead of her giving birth. Meghan spoke about the now-viral moment during a recent interview on entrepreneur Emma Grede's Aspire podcast. "You have to be authentic," Meghan told Grede. "Did you see my Baby Momma dance?" Later in the interview, she reflected on how public perception of her has shifted over time. Grede asked: "If you could rewrite your public narrative from scratch, is there anything that you would do differently?" Meghan replied without hesitation: "Yes, I would ask people to tell the truth."

King Charles III greets George and Amal Clooney at Buckingham Palace: See the photos

King Charles III welcomed a host of special guests including George and Amal Clooney to a reception at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday. The couple attended the event in celebration of the 2025 King's Trust Awards, which recognize young people who have overcome significant challenges to create positive change in their communities. In photos from the evening, the king is seen smiling warmly as he greets the Clooneys. One image captures George Clooney in conversation with the monarch, while Amal Clooney looks on with a smile, stunning in a black off-the-shoulder cocktail dress. George Clooney kept things classic in a sleek gray suit. The couple also took group photos with award winners and fellow supporters of the initiative. The official X account for Charles and Queen Camilla also shared a video offering a glimpse into the event, congratulating the winners, and celebrating the 10th anniversary of The King's Trust International. This isn't the Clooneys' first encounter with the British royals or their first visit to a royal residence. In 2019, they attended a dinner at Buckingham Palace hosted by Charles, then the Prince of Wales, in support of The Prince's Trust Group, joined by other ambassadors and supporters of The Prince's Trust International. The year before, the Clooneys were among the celebrity guests at Prince Harry and Meghan's royal wedding at Windsor Castle. They later vacationed with the couple baby shower in early 2019.

King Charles makes request for Sugababes CD at red carpet event

King Charles III has been revealed as a fan of the Sugababes as he made a request for their hits to play at his King's Trust Awards ceremony. The monarch met with Hollywood royalty and a number of other celebrities at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday evening. The group gathered to celebrate the recipients of awards at the upcoming King's Trust Awards ceremony. George Clooney and Amal Clooney, Dame Joanna Lumley, Joseph Fiennes, and Declan Donnelly were at the red carpet event, along with the girl group Sugababes. King Charles chatted with Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan, and Siobhan Donaghy, who will open and close the ceremony at London's Royal Festival Hall. The King then chatted to Radio 1 DJ Melvin Odoom, who revealed that he told the King he was taking requests as he'd be preparing a set for the red carpet. Melvin later told PA News Agency: 'He asked for the Sugababes CD to be played.' He joked that he'd take the request, albeit an out-of-date one: 'I didn't want to say to him we don't use CDs anymore, I'm using USB, but I'll drop the Sugababes.' The awards will be presented at the Royal Festival Hall on Thursday, June 26. The babes themselves later responded to the news that they had a fan in the King: 'That's very, very cool to know the King has requested us. 'We said to the King we've been around for 25 years and he was like wow, he was a bit taken aback.' They added that they had an idea in mind about which CD they might send to the King first. 'He said he wanted a CD and we think we'll introduce him to Overload first, he was really lovely.' The girl band caused chaos at Glastonbury earlier this year when they performed on the West Holts stage. Despite being the festival's third-largest stage, it simply did not have the capacity to host the huge number of fans eager to see the stars perform. More Trending Fans had to be turned away from the performance by security due to fears of overcrowding – and many were fuming that they were forced to miss out. The girl group is set to give the Worthy Farm festival a miss this year after touring throughout April. The current group members are the original ones from when the band was first formed in 1998. Siobhan left the group in 2001, with Mutya leaving in 2005, and Keisha leaving in 2009. After three different formation variations, the girls returned to the original lineup in 2011, reclaiming the rights to the name the Sugababes in 2019 – and the rest is history. Got a story? Amal Clooney Wore a Black Gown With a Romantic Detail to a Buckingham Palace Reception

THE RUNDOWN Earlier today, Amal and George Clooney made an appearance at Buckingham Palace for the King's Trust Awards reception. For the occasion, Amal wore a black off‑the‑shoulder dress, featuring subtle bow detailing at the sleeves and a fitted waist. She accessorized sparingly, with a simple bracelet, ring, and clutch completing the look. George was in a gray suit paired with a black shirt. The royal family posted a video from the event on Instagram, which included clips of King Charles speaking with Amal and George. 'Today, our King's Trust Award winners and Celebrity Ambassadors had the honor of attending a special reception with our Royal Founding President, His Majesty The King, at Buckingham Palace,' the caption read. 'This memorable event celebrated their remarkable achievements ahead of tomorrow's award show. 🏆 The awards honor those who have been supported by The Trust, and those who mentor them, in the U.K. and across the world. We are immensely proud of the extraordinary accomplishments of our young people and volunteers—their courage and commitment continues to inspire us all. 👏 #KingsTrustAwards #BuckinghamPalace.' Amal has had several high-profile events this month. On June 9, she joined George at the Tony Awards in New York City, where he was nominated for his role in Good Night, and Good Luck on Broadway. She wore a pearl-beaded Tamara Ralph Haute Couture gown. Just weeks earlier, she walked the Cannes Film Festival red carpet in an archival John Galliano for Dior design. In an interview with Gayle King in April, George shared that he and Amal 'are having a really great time in life.' He added, 'I feel so extraordinarily lucky to have met this incredible woman, and I feel as if I hit the jackpot. And there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think I'm the luckiest man in the world.'
