Peppa Pig fans left reeling after learning iconic character's real name

As the excitement builds for the birth of Peppa Pig's baby sister, news has reached fans that the creature is using her middle name - and her full title has caused a stir! Peppa Pig fans still coming to terms with the imminent arrival of the hog's baby sister have been left stunned after discovering the star's real name. The animated show, which has told the story of Peppa, who lives with Daddy Pig, Mummy Pig, and her little brother George for more than two decades, announced the pregnancy in February and last week a gender reveal confirmed a baby sister will be joining the family. ‌ As if that wasn't enough, the iconic character's actual name has just come to light - and some fans are struggling to get their heads around it all. Adding some spice to the cartoon, Good Find Toys have revealed her fully name is actually Pepperius Peppa Pig - and we're really not too sure what to think. ‌ The news found its way onto X and one person wrote: "Peppa Pig's real name being Pepperius Peppa Pig is making me scream!'" Another needed to hear it more than once, saying: "DID YOU KNOW "Peppa" is Peppa Pig's middle name and her full name is Pepperius Peppa Pig': 'Do you know Peppa Pig's real name? it's actually Papperius Peppa Pig!': 'Peppa Pigs full name is Pepperius Peppa Pig. You learn something new every day." Last Friday things turned a little weird as the Battersea Power Station chimneys in London will be lit up in pink to show that Mummy Pig is expecting a baby girl. A third child in the series was already covered in a pregnancy-themed episode, coinciding with Mother's Day in March. Viewers can expect to see the new baby on screen in the autumn, but some could be in for a treat before then. The animated show announced that Peppa Meets The Baby, an hour-long format will come out on May 30. The song-filled screening features 10 brand-new episodes, as Peppa and George prepare for the arrival of their baby sister. The Peppa Pig store at the power station, turned shopping mall and accommodation complex, is fundraising in support of NCT (National Children's Trust) the UK's leading charity for pregnancy and parents on Friday. The charity is partnered with Peppa Pig in the UK. The gender reveal episode will air on YouTube on May 3 as part of the Peppa Pig Tales series. Peppa Pig began in 2004 on Channel 5 Milkshake and Nick Jr, and has been a global success with theme parks in the UK and elsewhere. Peppa Pig fans left 'screaming' after only now discovering the iconic hog's real name - ahead of the birth of her new piglet sibling

Peppa Pig fans have been left 'screaming' after only now discovering the iconic cartoon character's real name, despite her having been on TV for a whopping 21-years. As excitement builds for the birth of the swine's baby sister, following a huge gender reveal, fans have learned that Peppa is in fact the swine's middle name. With her full name being: Pepperius Peppa Pig, as reported by Good Find Toys. Many have been left gobsmacked by the revelation and took to X writing: 'Peppa Pig's real name being Pepperius Peppa Pig is making me scream!'. 'DID YOU KNOW "Peppa" is Peppa Pig's middle name and her full name is Pepperius Peppa Pig': 'Do you know Peppa Pig's real name? it's actually Papperius Peppa Pig!': 'Peppa Pigs full name is Pepperius Peppa Pig. You learn something new every day'. It comes after fans were left squealing with delight after a huge gender reveal party at London's Battersea Power Station announced the family were expecting a girl. Mummy Pig, whose job involves doing 'very important work' on her computer, and her husband Daddy Pig, who 'takes big numbers, transmutes them and calculates their load-bearing tangents', first announced their surprise pregnancy in February. Good Morning Britain 's showbiz correspondent Richard Arnold landed the exclusive, as Mummy Pig showed off her ultrasound and baby bump and revealed she was due in the summer. The global smash hit cartoon celebrated the gender reveal news with a VIP party at the world's first-ever permanent Peppa Pig store at Battersea on Friday, featuring fundraising in support of NCT, the UK's leading charity for pregnancy and parents. NCT (National Children's Trust) was announced earlier this month as the official 'Pregnancy and Parenting Charity Partner' for Peppa Pig in the UK. And the excitement doesn't stop there as fans can join the Pig family on the big screen with Peppa Meets the Baby, a brand-new cinema experience launching May 30 in over 2,600 cinemas across 19 countries. The hour-long, song-filled screening features 10 brand-new episodes, as Peppa and George prepare for the arrival of their baby sister. In addition, the gender reveal episode will air on YouTube on May 3 as part of the Peppa Pig Tales series. Speaking to Grazia magazine about her pregnancy, Mummy Pig revealed she and Daddy Pig had 'so many ideas' for baby names. They wrote: 'Peppa Pig's real name being Pepperius Peppa Pig is making me scream!' She revealed: 'Too many, frankly! Oink! Knowing it's a girl has narrowed our options down a bit – I'm not sure Peter, Percy or Patrick Pig really work as girls' names! But it's too difficult to choose now. 'When she's here and looking up at me and Daddy Pig, we'll just know the perfect name. That's what we did when Peppa and George were born.' Peppa Pig first aired in 2004 and has since been broadcast in 180 territories and translated into 40 languages. It's spawned books, toys and even two theme parks, with the global Peppa empire now worth over £1billion. Creators Neville Astley and Mark Baker admitted they were worried the idea would never get off the ground, and that people were initially bored with the idea. People in the pub would ask us, 'What are you drawing?' We'd say, 'A pig, called Peppa, it's going to be big.' They'd lose interest and wander off', explained Astley. The pair created Peppa and her family while working in each other's houses or at the local pub. They told the Radio Times they were inspired by 1970s and 1980s cartoon classics including Roobarb and Pingu, after realising that children 'like stories about animals'. 'We'd made this little trailer for Peppa but hadn't got anywhere,' recalled Baker. 'It's very difficult to sell your own creative work. The good thing about Phil is he's quite thick-skinned.' They soon found an energetic little girl, Lily Snowden-Fine, to voice Peppa - despite her being only four years old and unable to read, instead repeating lines spoken by her mother. When her family moved to Canada, the job went to Cecily Bloom. She was followed by Harley Bird. The current voice of Peppa is Amelie Bea Smith. The creators explained that the secret to Peppa's long-lasting appeal is the show's simplicity, as well as ensuring the piglet is never the butt of the jokes. 'We put a lot of work into making everything look as effortless as possible,' said Baker. 'We can laugh at the adults, but children don't like it if we laugh at the children in the show.'
