Kate shared with the public this January that she's now in remission, expressing her "relief" on social media and her intention to focus on recovery while anticipating a "fulfilling year." Rebecca also highlighted the effect of Kate's health struggles on her and William's children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. But it appears there's cause for joy in the household as the possibility of welcoming a new furry friend emerges. In her piece for the Mail, Rebecca wrote: "We should not forget, of course, that Catherine's young brood – Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, ten, and seven-year-old Prince Louis – have also endured a tough time." "As parents, there is always only so much we can keep from our children, particularly when it comes to physical illness. It's one of the reasons, I am told, that she and Prince William have decided to breed from their adored spaniel, Orla." "Not only has it been something fun for the children to look forward to, but I am told they are planning to keep one of the pups." Orla, the black cocker spaniel who was gifted to the Wales family by Kate's brother, James Middleton, recently became the proud mum of four puppies. In another Orla-themed snap, she appeared in a photo alongside Princess Charlotte on her seventh birthday. The young princess was hugging the family dog in the picture, taken in Norfolk during the bank holiday weekend. William's late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, was notably an animal lover herself, with a keen fondness for horses and, famously, for her corgis. In a display for her Platinum Jubilee in 2022, London saw a charming parade of more than 100 corgis. During her record-breaking seven-decade reign, the late Queen owned dozens of corgis, with Princess Diana reportedly joking that she walked with a "moving carpet" of them.

The royal couple's children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, have already reportedly been enjoying their time with the puppies. However, no official announcement notice is posted for this addition to the family outside Buckingham Palace. An insider with the royal family was quoted as saying, "We always thought the patter of tiny feet in the Wales's household had ended, so the sound of tiny paws will have to do.' It has not yet been clarified whether the royal family plans to keep the weeks-old pups of their black cocker spaniel. Orla also featured in Kate Middleton's emotional family video from September last year, when she revealed that her chemotherapy was completed. She had also expressed that nature had played a significant role in her cancer recovery. Kate's brother James Middleton reportedly gifted Orla to the family in 2020. James had also bred Lupo, Kate and William's previous dog, and Orla's parents. The much-loved pet, however, does not make such appearances with the royal family, except for selective occasions. James Middleton praised his black cocker spaniel, Ella, for saving him from the "depths of depression", and said that she gave him "purpose and reassurance". The royals have reportedly had a long history of breeding their dogs. For the first time last week, Queen Camilla revealed a photograph of her rescue puppy Moley. The King had his first pooch, an Italian truffle-hunting dog named Snuff, in 20 years, the Sun reported. This understated residence has been William and Kate's sanctuary since they bid farewell to their grand 1A Kensington Palace home in 2022. With three young children - Prince George, aged 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6 - the couple found this relatively modest retreat by Royal standards to be the perfect place to raise a family. However, they now share their home with four new puppies, born to their beloved dog, Orla, according to reports. The Royal children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, are said to be completely enamoured with the newborn pups, reports the Mirror. As reported by The Sun, both mother and pups are doing well, and there's a tangible sense of excitement in the house over the new arrivals. It remains unknown whether William and Kate plan on keeping the black cocker spaniel's offspring. A source revealed to the outlet: "Mother and babies are doing well.
