75 days until Saints' season opener: Every player to wear No. 75

From Taliese Fuaga and Andrus Peat to Doug Marrone and Bruce Clark The New Orleans Saints will kick off their 2025 regular season with the Arizona Cardinals at home in the Caesars Superdome on Sept. 7, which is now 75 days away. We'll be counting down the days until kickoff by looking back on every Saints player who wore the corresponding jersey number. Who stands out in No. 75? Defensive end Bruce Clark (1982-1988) was a key player for the Saints in his day, having won a Pro Bowl nod in 1984. Lately it's been used by left guard Andrus Peat (2014-2023) who was selected for three Pro Bowls as an alternate. But when Peat left the team in free agency last year, the No. 75 jersey was picked up by Taliese Fuaga, and he wore it proud as a rookie left tackle before going back to his college position on the right side this spring. Here's the full list from Pro Football Reference: DT Mike Rengel (1969) OL Mike Richey (1970) DE Mike Crangle (1972) DT Elex Price (1973-1980) DL Bruce Clark (1982-1988) OL Doug Marrone (1989) DT Emile Palmer (1996) DE Julian Pittman (1998) DT Rodney Leisle (2004, switched to No. 77 in 2005) OL Jermane Mayberry (2005) DT Mitch King (2011) DL Tyrunn Walker (2013-2014) OL Andrus Peat (2015-2023) OL Taliese Fuaga (2024-Present)

Steelers countdown to kickoff — No. 75: a history of the number and who wore it best

The Steelers countdown to kickoff is here — and we're at 75 days until Pittsburgh faces off against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. In the spirit of the countdown, we're taking a look at the history of No. 75 and the players who wore it best. Current Steelers No. 75 wearer: N/A There isn't a current wearer of No. 75 on the Steelers roster — and for good reason. The jersey was officially retired in 2014 out of respect for arguably the greatest defender in Pittsburgh history. Last five Steelers to wear No. 75: Best No. 75 in Steelers history: DT Joe Greene There's no debating this jersey number — 'Mean' Joe Greene was the greatest Steeler to ever don No. 75. Greene, who played with the Steelers from 1969 to 1981, is widely regarded as the cornerstone of the Steel Curtain defense — considered one of the greatest defensive units in NFL history, which led Pittsburgh to four Super Bowl titles. While sacks didn't become an official statistic until 1982, Greene's unofficial 77.5 sacks would have ranked as the fourth-most by a Steeler all-time, behind James Harrison, Cam Heyward, and T.J. Watt. He is the only Steeler to have won the Defensive Player of the Year twice, and he has been named All-Pro eight times. Greene is not only one of the greatest Steelers of all time — his impact changed the Steel City brand of sports forever. 75 days until the Texans' 2025 season opener: Who has worn No.75?

The Houston Texans are less than 100 days away from kicking off the 2025 season in Los Angeles against the Rams at SoFi Stadium and we're counting down the days until a victory ensues on the west coast. Texans Wire will each day tell you which player has worn the number of the day leading up to kickoff and pick the player who ensured the number best during their time at NRG Stadium. As for today, let's take a look at who has won No. 75 since the inaugural season in 2002. Texans players to wear No. 75 No. 75 currently belongs to offensive lineman Laken Tomlinson, who signed a one-year deal this offseason to compete for a starting job on the offensive line. Throughout the early stages of OTAs and minicamp, Tomlinson seems to be settled in as the starting left guard over Juice Scruggs and Jarrett Patterson. While Tomlinson fizzled out after his time in San Francisco, his relationship with DeMeco Ryans from their time in the Bay could be a reason to believe he's in line for a promising season with new offesive line coach Cole Popovich. If he starts 17 games, that alone would qualify him as the best left guard in the Ryans' era since five players have started a game there since 2023. Since Tomlinson hasn't taken a snap yet wearing the No. 75, he doesn't qualify for the G.O.A.T., but given a small list of quality names, check back in this time next year if all goes according to plan. There are only two names that probably would check off enough boxes to fit the criteria. Best Player: Vince Wilfork When you take over the internet for your overall, no-shirt, no socks, big boots look, you win the title of G.O.A.T. Wilfolk won't ever be considered a Texans' legend for his two seasons of on-field play after a Hall of Fame career with the New England Patriots, but Wilfork always be distinguished as the guy who became an icon on "Hard Knocks" during the 2015 season. Helping the Texans win back-to-back AFC South titles under Bill O'Brien, Wilfork, who signed a two-year contract, started all 16 games in 2015 at nose tackle and recorded 22 tackles. The following year, he recorded 21 stops and three sacks. Big Thunder won't be forgotten down at NRG Stadium for years to come.
