ACS Group's DRAGADOS to acquire Fleischmann to boost digital infrastructure

Infrastructure company ACS Group, through its construction arm DRAGADOS, has announced the acquisition of Fleischmann, a Chilean company specialising in various sectors such as data centres and industrial facilities. In a statement, ACS Group said the move was part of its strategy to strengthen its position in the digital infrastructure sector and offer integrated services globally. The deal is pending regulatory approvals. Fleischmann, with over eight decades of experience and a workforce exceeding 1,200, offers integrated solutions from design to maintenance and has executed complex, large-scale projects. The Santiago-based company has a regional presence and is stated to be poised to meet the demand for digital infrastructure. Fleischmann has been involved in multiple international projects in diverse environments. The company established Fleischmann Lab three years ago, a centre aimed at embedding digital technology into construction processes, leading to the creation of new units focused on digital solutions and data centres. This acquisition is strategically aligned with Chile's National Data Center Plan, which anticipates an investment of around $2.5bn over the next five years. DRAGADOS and ACS Group can now engage in this initiative and foster collaborations with global tech companies, as Chile enhances its regional connectivity hub status, states ACS. DRAGADOS CEO Santiago García Salvador said: 'This acquisition strengthens our presence in Latin America and enhances our ability to support global clients with advanced digital infrastructure solutions. Fleischmann's experience and proven track record align perfectly with our long-term strategic vision.' Last month, ACS Group subsidiary Turner Construction Company introduced xPL Offsite, its new subsidiary for offsite manufacturing. "ACS Group's DRAGADOS to acquire Fleischmann to boost digital infrastructure" was originally created and published by World Construction Network, a GlobalData owned brand. Colo-Colo handed 10-game supporter ban after fan deaths before Copa Libertadores tie

Chilean soccer club Colo-Colo must play five home matches in continental competition without fans and will also not be allowed supporters for the next five away matches. The bans were confirmed by CONMEBOL, the organising body of the Copa Libertadores, after two teenage fans were killed in a crush ahead of a Copa Libertadores match last month. Advertisement Local police confirmed the deaths of an 18-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy following a confrontation between supporters and police ahead of Colo-Colo's tie against Brazilian side Fortaleza on April 10. Police general Alex Bahamondes told TVN that the perimeter fence of the stadium had become surrounded by 'approximately 150 fans' ahead of the game. Colo-Colo's league derby match against Universidad de Chile, which had been scheduled to take place three days after that tie, was postponed as a mark of respect. Prosecutor Francisco Morales, via Chilean media outlet Emol, said that an investigation has commenced into whether a police car was involved in the deaths. Despite the incidents ahead of the match, the game kicked off and proceeded normally until its suspension in the 72nd minute, when a group of Colo-Colo fans invaded the pitch amid the situation. CONMEBOL have awarded Fortaleza a 3-0 victory for the match, which was scoreless when it was abandoned, alongside sanctioning Colo-Colo supporters for a further 10 matches. — Fortaleza Esporte Clube 🦁 (@FortalezaEC) April 30, 2025 The first of the five-match home stadium ban has already been served, as the Santiago-based club drew 1-1 at home to Racing Club of Argentina in their Copa Libertadores group stage match on April 23. Colo-Colo's only remaining home group game is scheduled against Atletico Bucaramanga on May 30, preceded by trips to Fortaleza and Racing Club — for which they will be unable to bring away supporters. The Chilean club are bottom of the group on two points, two behind third-place Fortaleza and Racing Club, with Atletico Bucaramanga leaders on five points. Colo-Colo have also been fined $80,000 (£60,000) for the episode.

Soccer-CONMEBOL imposes closed-door matches on Colo Colo after deadly Copa Libertadores incident

ASUNCION (Reuters) -Chile's Colo Colo will have to play five home games behind closed doors and five away matches without visiting fans, CONMEBOL said on Wednesday, after two fans were killed earlier this month in a crush during a Copa Libertadores match. The incident occurred on April 10, when home fans attempted to force their way into the Monumental Stadium in Santiago ahead of Colo Colo's Group E match against Brazilian side Fortaleza. The match was abandoned after 70 minutes following a stampede where a 13-year-old boy and an 18-year-old woman were crushed to death by a collapsing fence. The disciplinary unit of the South American soccer's governing body had provisionally banned fans from attending Colo Colo matches while it deliberated on the final sanctions. The Santiago-based team have also been fined $80,000, and CONMEBOL awarded a 3–0 victory to Fortaleza for the suspended second matchday fixture of the group stage of South America's top club tournament. The result leaves them bottom of the group on two points, two behind third-placed Fortaleza. Colombia's Atletico Bucaramanga are leaders with five points, one ahead of Argentine side Racing Club.
