Nithya Menen reveals she no longer seeks a soulmate; says ‘Love is not a central theme of my life anymore'

(Picture Courtesy: Facebook) Actor Nithya Menen , currently promoting her romantic comedy 'Thalaivan Thalaivii' alongside Vijay Sethupathi, got introspective about her journey with love and relationships. In a candid conversation on The Ramya Show, Nithya spoke about how her early ideas of love have changed over time. 'When I was younger, it was so important to me to find my soulmate,' she shared, explaining how family and societal expectations had once made her believe marriage was inevitable. 'Otherwise, you feel like a failure,' she added. But that belief has since shifted. Nithya now sees love and marriage as possibilities, not necessities. 'If it happens, great. If it doesn't happen, also great. It doesn't give me grief.' Heartbreak every time—but no regrets Speaking to SS Music, Nithya reflected on her past relationships with striking honesty. 'I've been heartbroken every single time,' she said, without hesitation. For her, each experience became a learning moment. 'It's obviously why I am not with someone right now,' she admitted. Rather than feel bitter, Nithya now values the clarity heartbreak brought her. 'All of that only teaches you about people's intentions,' she said. 'You realise what you're searching itself is wrong, you have to leave it.' With no illusions left, she sees life as an open path. 'Every set notion has broken for me, freeing me up to live life.' Sir Madam - Official Telugu Trailer Won't be pressured into marriage Nithya also addressed the pressure that often comes from families and society to 'settle down.' She was clear that she wouldn't let herself be forced into marriage. Choosing not to conform, she referenced Ratan Tata who never married as an example that a fulfilling life doesn't need to include a spouse. 'You can live a different life,' she said. That choice, she believes, doesn't make one any less successful or whole.
