Businessman, consumer held in Hyderabad; 15 gm of cocaine seized
Hyderabad, Aug 14 (PTI) A 33-year-old businessman allegedly involved in drug peddling and a 28-year-old consumer were arrested here, with 15 grams of cocaine seized from them, police said on Thursday. Based on credible information, the Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (HNEW) conducted an operation on August 10 within the limits of Langer House Police Station and apprehended the duo. Police also seized two mobile phones, with the total value of the seizure estimated at Rs 3.95 lakh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Task Force) Y V S Sudheendra said. According to police, the accused sourced cocaine from a supplier in Mumbai for Rs 10,000 per gram and sold it to customers for Rs 25,000 per gram, a statement said. Man held after four years in Mudra loan fraud case
Last Updated: Hyderabad, Aug 4 (PTI) A 34-year-old man, who allegedly cheated people on the pretext of arranging a Mudra loan after collecting money from them and was absconding since 2021, was apprehended, police said on Monday. The accused, who was involved in multiple fraud cases in Hyderabad, by falsely promising assistance in securing Mudra loan, collected money and documents from victims and absconded, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Commissioner's Task Force) YVS Sudheendra said in a release. The accused became acquainted with the Mudra loan process, after watching videos on a social media platform related to government financial schemes, police said. 4 Africans Arrested For 'Drug Peddling' In Hyderabad, Deported
Hyderabad: Four African nationals were arrested on charges of overstaying their visa and peddling drugs, and have been deported. The individuals, identified as two Nigerians, one Tanzanian, and one Sudanese national, had initially entered India on various types of visas, including tourist, medical, and student visas. However, they stayed in India after the expiry of their visas and passports. The first among them to be identified by the Hyderabad Police was Tanzanian national Mwajuma Almasi Masisila, who had come to India on a tourist visa six years ago. "Her explanation for how she survived, what she did for a living, how she could afford an apartment paying Rs 25000 a month, and her lifestyle did not add up," Hyderabad Deputy Commissioner of Police Task Force YVS Sudheendra told NDTV. Her interrogation revealed that she was associated with the other accused Chinaza Nnanna Vivian, Maxwell Anthony Izuchukwu and Ahmed Hamid. 29-year-old Izuchukwu had come from Nigeria on a medical visa, 27-year-old Hamid had come on a student visa and 38-year-old Vivian on a Sierra Leone passport but is a Nigerian national. While no drugs were seized from them during a search, all four were reportedly involved in drug peddling activities in Bangalore and Hyderabad. While initiating their deportation process, the Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing also started the procedure to blacklist them, effectively barring them from re-entering India. They also issued an appeal, highlighting the increasing trend of foreign nationals overstaying their visas and engaging in illicit activities, particularly drug peddling.

H-NEW holds anti-drug awareness programme
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) organised an Anti-Drug Awareness Programme at the Keshav Memorial Educational Society in Narayanaguda on Wednesday. During the event, H-NEW DCP YVS Sudheendra enlightened students about the detrimental effects of drug abuse and strategies to resist such influences within educational settings. The awareness programme was specifically designed to educate students on the dangers posed by narcotic substances and to champion a drug-free lifestyle. During the session, the DCP elaborated on how drug abuse can ruin students' promising futures and underscored the severe legal ramifications they might encounter. Additionally, the DCP urged students not to succumb to drug addiction and to steer clear of friendships that encourage substance abuse. The college Principal commended the initiative by H-NEW and HCSC, stating that such programmes are vital in empowering students to make informed choices, comprehend the consequences of drug abuse, and cultivate healthy lifestyles. Both the Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) and the Anti Narcotics Forum of HCSC reiterated their dedication to conducting regular awareness campaigns in educational institutions. Their aim is to safeguard youth from the menace of drugs and contribute towards making Hyderabad a drug-free city. C Venkata Ramulu, Sub-Inspector of Police, Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) and his team, along with KGSS Srikanth, Joint Secretary, Anti-Narcotic Forum, HCSC, and G Satyanarayana, Project Manager of HCSC, were also present at the programme.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) conducted an Anti-Drug Awareness Programme at Sultan-ul-Uloom Junior College, Banjara Hills. The initiative aimed to educate students on the dangers of narcotic substances and to promote a drug-free lifestyle.
