Not a typo! Get a queen Zinus memory foam mattress for just $177 in the Memorial Day sales

If somebody told me I could get a decent memory foam mattress for under $200 for a queen, I wouldn't believe them. But I've been proven wrong over the Memorial Day weekend. The Zinus Green Tea Memory Foam mattress is currently just $177 for a queen at Amazon, returning to its lowest price of the year. That's excellent value. Now, don't expect the kind of quality support you get from the top recommended beds in our best mattress guide. The Zinus is a budget model. But we still gave it 3.5/5 stars in our Zinus Green Tea Memory Foam review: you get strong motion isolation and pressure relief for the money, and it's by no means unsupportive, especially for side sleepers. This is one of the best deals we've seen in the Memorial Day mattress sales. It's well worth considering if you're on a tight budget. We're covering it and more in our Memorial Day mattress sales live blog. Zinus Green Tea Memory Foam mattress (queen): $219.98 now $177 at AmazonThis deal drops the Zinus Green Tea Memory Foam back to its lowest-ever price, making it even better value for money than usual. We were impressed with its pressure relief and motion isolation when we slept on it, and think it's a particularly good option for side sleepers — the memory foam cradles your hips, shoulders and knees well when you're on your side. However, back and stomach sleepers might need firmer support. The mattress has a simple three-layer foam design, and it's available in 8', 10' and 12' heights (we recommend 10" or higher for adults). It comes with a 10-year warranty. Overall, we were impressed with this budget mattress when we reviewed it. So much so, we added it into our best cheap mattress of the year guide. It has a classic soft, memory foam feel, which most side sleepers, especially lightweight sleepers, should find very comfortable. During our tests to assess how well it isolates motion, where we dropped a dumbbell from different distances and heights from a wine glass to mimic human movement, the glass didn't fall over once, indicating an excellent ability to prevent motion from travelling across the bed — good news for couples with restless partners. Our expert panel agreed that despite the 'green tea and charcoal infusions', this isn't necessarily a 'cooling mattress' — very hot sleepers would be better off investing in one of the best cooling mattresses instead. Heavier-weight sleepers, back sleepers and stomach sleepers would probably benefit from a firmer surface with a bit more support, and because of the soft feel, the edges felt weak. Our verdict? It's a great option for side sleepers on a budget, or to put in a guest room for occasional use. See our alternative below if you're a back or stomach sleeper on a budget. Siena Memory Foam mattress (queen): $278 at SienaThe Siena is an all-foam bed, like the Zinus, but it has a much firmer feel, making it more supportive for back and stomach sleepers. When we tested it during our Siena Memory Foam mattress review, we were surprised at the feel. While Siena rates it as 6.5 on the firmness scale (medium firm), we found it felt more like a 9 out of 10, making it too firm for most side sleepers. However, it offered excellent support. It also performed well for temperature regulation, motion isolation and edge support, making it a great all-rounder and one of our best memory foam mattresses. Amazon is running an excellent deal on it right now, with a queen size 10" Siena discounted to $279 – that matches the cheapest price we saw during Black Friday. You get a 180-night trial, 10-year warranty and free shipping and returns too.

Walmart Memorial Day sale is live — 37 deals I'm shopping this weekend

The country's biggest retailer has a warning for shoppers: Prices are about to increase. Earlier this week, Walmart issued a rare warning saying that it'll increase prices later this month to offset the impact from tariffs. To be fair, Walmart has been raising prices since the tariff wars began, but it's giving shoppers a heads up that another round of price increases is on the horizon. There is some good news, however. The Walmart Memorial Day sale is now live and it's rolling back prices sitewide on everything from back-to-school laptops to summer-ready barbecue grills. For example, right now Walmart's Patio and Garden Event is taking up to 50% off outdoor essentials. If you're looking for a new grill for barbecue season, Walmart has plenty of options under $99. And if you need some festive decor, Walmart's Memorial Day section is filled to the brim with deals starting at just $1. To avoid any potential price increases, I suggest shopping the Walmart Memorial Day sale now instead of next weekend, when prices will likely creep up. So below I've picked the very best deals in Walmart's holiday sale. For more ways to save, check out our Walmart promo codes and our full Memorial Day sales coverage. Memorial Day sale: deals from $1 @ WalmartPlanning a Memorial Day barbecue or gathering? Walmart has epic pre-summer savings on everything from grills and outdoor games to decor and tableware — with deals starting at just $1. Grill sale: deals under $100 @ WalmartFrom Weber to Blackstone (and many notable brands in between), Walmart is having a huge grill sale with many deals under $100 mark. With barbecue season officially here, Walmart has tons of grill options to choose from — without breaking the bank! Shark and Ninja appliances: up to 40% off @ WalmartWalmart is offering up to 40% off select Shark and Ninja appliances. The sale includes air fryers, robot vacs, blow dryers, blenders and more. Prices start as low as $49 for Shark devices and $29 for Ninja appliances. Patio and garden event: up to 50% off @ WalmartWalmart has launched a major savings event to help you refresh your garden. If you're looking to upgrade your garden, deck or patio for less, consider Walmart's outdoor living section your one-stop shop. The retail giant is currently offering unbeatable discounts of up to 50% on stylish and functional outdoor items, including string lights, fire pits, lounge chairs, garden beds and more. Zinus mattresses are known for their budget-friendly pressure relief, making them a good choice for side sleepers. That's what we found during our Zinus Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress review and while this isn't the same design, the build is similar enough that we expect a comparable feel. You can expect some heat retention and weaker edges (a problem among even the best memory foam mattresses) but the dense foams should eat up any motion transfer. It's no longer Apple's flagship, but the MacBook Air M1 offers fantastic performance and value. The M1 CPU never stuttered in our tests and also helped it reach over 14 hours of battery life. It features a 13.3-inch Retina display, Apple M1 CPU, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. In our MacBook Air M1 review, we said it offers amazing endurance and very good speed. In this impressively thin, light and premium-feeling notebook, you'll find a drop dead gorgeous OLED display, Intel Core Ultra 5 2 series chipset, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. For all your workloads on the go, this is an impressive system. Plus, you get a free wireless headset. If you're looking for fast performance, long-lasting battery life, and excellent visuals for a fair price, the Swift 14 AI stands triumphant. This configuration packs a 14-inch 3K touchscreen display, Core Ultra 7 Series 2 CPU, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB SSD. This mid-range gaming laptop houses a Core i7-13620H CPU, 16GB of RAM, 1TB SSD, and Nvidia's RTX 4050 GPU. Its 15.6-inch screen is 1080p (1920 x 1080) and can reach an impressive max refresh rate of 144Hz, which is great for casual gamers. Smart TVs: deals from $88 @ WalmartWalmart has a massive sale on smart TVs. The sale includes TVs from brands like TCL, Hisense, JVC, and Walmart's own Onn brand. After discount, prices start as low as $88. Keep in mind that there are a few 1080p sets included in the sale. I recommend sticking with 4K resolution as the price difference isn't all that great. I've got to recommend a TV when it's under $100, especially when it's 32-inch and comes from Walmart's very own Onn. range. It's a sturdy set with Roku Smart TV running the show., meaning you'll get access to a lot of streaming. So, if you're looking for a simple TV that'll let you watch your movies and shows in HD-quality, this one's at the breathtakingly cheap price of $88. If you want a new TV but don't want to overspend, the Hisense U8N Mini-LED TV offers an unbelievable price-to-performance ratio. In addition to its Mini-LED panel, it also offers beautiful contrast and colors as well as support for a 144Hz refresh rate, VRR, ALLM, Dolby Vision Atmos, and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. In our Hisense U8N review we said the Editor's Choice TV is one of the best mini-LED TVs you can buy. What if your TV could hide the fact it was a TV? The Frame by Samsung does just that, disguising itself as a piece of art whenever it's not in use. That's on top of a 4K QLED display, HDR10+, Dolby Atmos support, and all the smart features afforded by Samsung's Tizen OS. This is the cheapest price we've seen for the 55-inch model. With over $1,500 off this 55" second-gen OLED, it's a ridiculously low price to experience a contrast-rich picture paired with cinematic audio. It also boasts Samsung's LaserSlim Design of only 4mm, virtually sinking into the wall. Plus, it uses the Tizen OS for access to the top streaming apps. The C4 was LG's current flagship OLED TV last year (the C5 just launched). It's powered by LG's A9 processor and features a 120Hz panel, Dolby Vision/ HDR10/HLG support, built-in Amazon Alexa, four HDMI 2.1 ports and Apple AirPlay 2 support. It's also one of the few OLED TVs that can natively accept a 144Hz input from a PC. In our LG C4 OLED TV review, we said content looked colorful and dazzlingly bright on the new C4 series. It's the best version we've seen of the company's top-selling OLED TV range. Note: Amazon offers the same prices.48" for $1,09655" for $1,19665" for $1,49677" for $2,296 83" for $3,496 Light up your outdoor space at night with this set of string lights that are 100 feet long and include 50 bulbs. You'll want to spend all night under the stars with these lights that emit a soft white glow and will make a stylish statement hanging in your backyard or over your patio. This umbrella is the perfect addition to your backyard or patio. It provides optimal shade while adding some elegant style. The umbrella surface is UV-proof, waterproof and fade resistant so you can use it on both sunny and rainy days. Relax in this set of comfortable and adjustable lounge chairs that allow you to sit, recline and lie down. They are called "zero gravity" chairs because you can recline at different angles up to 170°. The chairs have a foldable and light weight design, making it very easy for you to carry them around and use in various places. Walmart is taking $140 off this folding Adirondack Chair, a durable piece of patio furniture that doesn't come cheap. But for just $99, this foldable, weather-proof design (it's constructed from high-density polyethylene lumber) is a steal. Reviewers rave these are easy to put together and are built to last for many summers to come. One buyer even notes it's "a very solid chair for the money!" This small outdoor conversation set is available for $130 off the regular price. Made of woven rattan, high-quality steel frames, and tempered glass table top, this adorable set will be the perfect spot to relax or enjoy a cocktail outdoors this spring. It also comes with seat cushions featuring an ergonomic design for extra comfort. Level up your outdoor events with an all-in-one cooler cart! Perfect for entertaining, its huge capacity can hold up to 50 bottles, 70 cans or all your favorite food and snacks. It also has four sturdy wheels that allow you to easily move the cooler or even take it on the go. Kick back in style and comfort with this outdoor wicker set that will match any theme or decor. Perfect for cozy spring nights by the fire pit, this set of rocking chairs feature a comfortable high-back design and plush cushions. The set also comes with a 2-tier coffee table. It will make a lovely addition to your porch or patio. The Keurig K-Express is your top choice if you're looking for a low-cost single-serve coffee maker, or a pop of color in your kitchen, as it's available in 6 colorways at Walmart. At just 6.5 inches wide, it's also compact and is ideal for small spaces. You can also brew one cup after another, without waiting for the water to reheat, which sits within the 36oz reserve. The Nutribullet PRO Blender is a serious bit of kit for your kitchen. Blending with a 900-watt motor and powerful stainless steel extractor blades means whipping up your morning smoothie or late-night milkshake is impressively simple. We called it the "reigning champ of affordable blenders" in our full review. With the Shark Steam Pocket Mop, mopping might just be your new favorite household chore. Designed for sealed hard floors like hardwood, marble, tile, stone, laminate and vinyl, the mop transforms water into super-heated steam in seconds to remove dirt, grime, and hard-to-clean messes. This will help you remove up to 99% of household bacteria — without the harsh chemicals. If you're after a basic yet versatile air fryer, this is a great deal. With a 4-quart basket capacity, it's sufficient to cook fit 2 pounds of fries. This comes with convenient functions such as air fry, roast, bake and broil. Plus, at such a low price this is a deal not to be missed! Limited for space? The Ninja Foodi Multi-Cooker is a 6-in-1 set that'll become a slow cooker, food warmer, nonstick pot, saute pan, steamer, stock pot, dutch oven and utensil, whilst only taking up a small area of your kitchen. And Triple Fusion heat technology means you can cook up to 30% faster than conventional ovens. Speedy cooking without needing to buy several appliances, all for just $98. Get rid of the tiniest of unwanted particles and air contaminants with the Shark Clean Sense Air Purifier. Its anti-allergen HEPA filter is designed to tackle everything form smog and toxins to dust and dander, giving you healthier, purified indoor air quality. The Ninja Creami has been making waves (scoops?) in the home cook world. We gave it 4 stars in our Ninja Creami review. We loved how easy it was to make delicious homemade ice cream. There's a huge range of recipe styles available, such as milkshake, froyo, and even gelato! And as if it couldn't get any better — the Creami is also easy to clean. Leave your spring cleaning to your digital assistant. The Shark Matrix Robot Vacuum features precision home mapping, powerful suction that makes it great for households with pets, and hands-free cleaning thanks to its Alexa/Google Assistant support. The Shark FlexStyle Hair Styling System can be used as a powerful, no-heat-damage hair dryer or an ultra-versatile multi-styler letting you curl, volumize, smooth, or dry. It's often compared to the popular Dyson Airwrap, but it's currently less than half the price (and might even be the superior choice performance-wise). We recommend jumping on this deal! Our JBL Go 4 review determined that this is the perfect portable Bluetooth speaker for those on a budget. Small enough to take traveling, it still packs enough performance to soundtrack small gatherings while bringing useful features like IP67 water and dust protection, and multi-point connectivity. It also comes in a variety of fun colors. A budget friendly option, these wireless headphones offer playback for up to 57 hours, and recharge in as little as 2 hours. They also have JBL Pure Bass sound. Although we haven't tested this model, they receive 4.5 out of 5 stars from Amazon customers for sound quality and value for money. Sony's budget on-ear cans are inexpensive, but they bring the sound where it counts. They earned a 4.5-star rating in our Sony WH-CH520 review, thanks to their top-notch sound, intuitive controls, and lengthy battery life of 50 hours. 3 minutes of charge nets you 1.5 hours of use as well, if you run out and need a quick boost. The SRS-XE200 is an IP67 certified Bluetooth speaker that's waterproof, dustproof, and shockproof. It offers up to 16 hours of battery life and includes a built-in strap that makes it easy to take on the go. There's also a buit-in mic with echo cancelling technology. This is one the best bang for your buck party speakers on the market right now. Users reported that the speaker has thumping bass that doesn't distort even at loud volumes. This speaker has two 1/4" inputs at the reverse for a mic and a guitar, should you want to soundtrack the party on a more personal level. The XM5 are Sony's premium noise-cancelling headphones and our pick for the best headphones on the market. The large, over-ear cushions are incredibly comfortable and the active noise cancellation is excellent. Plus, despite ANC being a drain on battery life, these amazing headphones still give you up to 30 hours with ANC enabled. You can push that up to 40 hours of battery life with ANC turned check: $348 @ Amazon

After testing 100 mattresses, I was skeptical this sub-$300 Zinus hybrid could keep me cool. I was wrong.

If you've ever shopped for mattresses or bed frames on Amazon, you've likely seen the name Zinus. The brand is a reputable choice for consumers who want quality materials without breaking the bank. As a mattress expert, I recommend Zinus when friends and family ask for cheap guest room mattress recommendations. I'm always looking for the best mattresses. The Zinus Cooling Comfort Support Hybrid Mattress appeared on my radar when I wanted to test a good cooling mattress for under $500. After sleeping on it for a month, I can say it delivers for hot sleepers, though it does have some drawbacks. Below, I will cover my experiences with the Zinus Cooling Comfort bed, who should buy it, and what alternatives you may want to consider instead. Construction The Zinus Cooling Comfort Support Hybrid Mattress combines affordability with comfort and support, offering an impressive array of quality materials for its sub-$300 price. The top three layers are made of CertiPUR-US-certified foams, ensuring the bed meets rigorous durability, content, and emissions standards. The top foam layer provides plush comfort. Below that, gel-infused memory foam offers pressure relief and cooling. Then, transition foam contours to your body and supplies support. The base is made of individually wrapped coils, which lend the mattress support, spinal alignment, durability, and airflow. The soft, breathable knitted cover is made of OEKO-TEX-certified fabric. The Zinus Cooling Comfort comes in five sizes, ranging from twin to California king, and five thicknesses, from 6 to 14 inches. I tested the 12-inch queen. While you can save a few bucks with one of the thinner mattresses, I don't recommend it. In my experience, beds thinner than 10 inches rarely provide enough support. Setup The Zinus Cooling Comfort mattress arrives vacuum-sealed in a box the size of a mini fridge. At 73 pounds, it's heavy, so I recommend having a friend help you unbox it. The directions make the process simple. I only needed five minutes to take the bed out of the box, remove the layers of plastic, and place it on my bed frame. When it was free from the packaging, the Zinus immediately doubled in thickness, but it took about 24 hours to reach its full size. I had a mild initial "new bed smell," but that was gone by bedtime several hours later. Unfortunately, in-home setup, aka "white-glove delivery," isn't available for this Amazon-exclusive mattress. However, I've recently noticed the ability to add-on to your delivery the option for someone to haul away your existing mattress for $105. Comfort Different body types and sleep positions have different comfort preferences. For reference, I'm athletically built, a little heavier: 6-foot, 225 pounds. I can sleep in any position but prefer sleeping on my side. That said, the Zinus Cooling Comfort, advertised as "medium-plush," should have been perfect for me. Yet, I found it was firmer than average (6 out of 10), and better suited for back and stomach sleepers. I generally slept on my side on the Zinus and felt comfortable enough, but the bed lacked the dynamic pressure relief that my body craves. I occasionally awoke with shoulder or neck soreness due to poor spinal alignment. I also had trouble falling back asleep after waking. Overall, my sleep on the Zinus was good but not great. During the month I tested it, my sleep quality score average, as measured by my Garmin watch, was 62 out of 100, just off my normal 63. While this description may sound negative, the comfort was impressive considering the Zinus's price. You aren't going to get a luxury experience for under $300. Heat dissipation The Zinus Cooling Comfort Support Hybrid Mattress showed outstanding heat dissipation when I used a laser thermometer to take three measurements: the surface temperature before lying down, right after getting up, and two minutes after. The surface temperature was 89 degrees Fahrenheit right after getting up, much lower than the other affordable mattresses I've tested. The heat dissipated quickly, dropping 13 degrees in two minutes, better than the 12-degree average. I overheat on most mattresses, but had no sweaty nights on the Zinus Cooling Comfort. These results suggest that it's the smart choice for hot sleepers on a budget, earning it a spot in our guide to the best cooling mattresses. Edge support Edge support helps you get into and out of bed and feel supported when sitting or lying on the side of the bed. The Zinus Cooling Comfort mattress's edge support is just average. I evaluated the edge support by measuring how far I could roll on the side of the mattress before falling and how much the edge sank when I sat on it. When I sat, the edge compressed about 4 inches, slightly more than average. When rolling off, I've found the beds with the best edge support allow me to get past a 45-degree angle before I fall. With the Zinus, I was right at 45 degrees. While it wasn't awful, you may want to look elsewhere if you need a bed with excellent edge support. Motion isolation To measure motion isolation, I placed my phone with a vibrometer app pulled up on one side of the bed and dropped a 15-pound bowling ball on the other. This mimics the vibrations caused by your sleeping partner moving in the night. The Zinus registered 7.5 on the vibrometer, worse than most mattresses across my testing. The individually wrapped pocket coils are supposed to help with motion isolation, but that wasn't the case here. I could also feel my wife distinctly when she joined me on the bed. As with most mattresses with poor motion isolation, the Zinus had pretty good bounce, which sexually active couples might appreciate. Overall, though, with the average edge support and subpar motion isolation, I wouldn't recommend the Zinus Cooling Comfort hybrid to couples. Trial period and warranty Amazon offers a 100-night trial period for the Zinus Cooling Comfort Support Hybrid Mattress. If you don't like the Zinus, you can return it within that window for a full refund, though the process isn't completely clear. Amazon states the item must be returned in "its original condition." It's unclear if this means unused. They also don't state if you're responsible for schlepping the mattress to an Amazon return location. At the time of publishing, Amazon and Zinus hadn't returned our inquiries. The mattress is covered by a 10-year warranty, but several catches exist. First, you must use a supportive foundation, though the warranty doesn't specify what that means. Also, the warranty is voided if you use an electric blanket or heating pad with the mattress or if you remove the Law Tag. If you avoid these loopholes and experience an indentation of over 1.5 inches or other defects of workmanship or materials, Zinus will replace your mattress or provide you with a pro-rated refund. Cons to consider The Zinus Cooling Comfort's biggest negative was its poor motion isolation. You don't want to feel your partner or pets moving in the night, as this can hurt your sleep quality. If you plan on sharing the bed with someone else, I'd consider upgrading to a larger size, especially considering the average edge support. This will give you a more usable sleep area and provide more distance from your partner to dampen motion. I was bummed that the mattress was firmer than advertised. I looked forward to a nice medium-plush feel to support my side sleeping, but it was much firmer and better suited for back and stomach sleepers. It's misleading in that people seeking a plush solution may be dissatisfied, and those after a firmer bed may dismiss this viable option from their search. Heavier individuals who sleep on their side may also like the Zinus Cooling Comfort Support Hybrid. However, if you're looking for a softer bed, consider one of the alternatives below. What are your alternatives? Zinus is one of the most popular mattress brands on Amazon, with countless affordable options. The Zinus 12-Inch Green Tea Cooling Gel Memory Foam Mattress is the top foam pick in our guide to the best cheap mattresses. It costs slightly more than the Cooling Comfort, but it's a better option for side sleepers and couples, thanks to its excellent motion isolation and edge support. Still, the Zinus Green Tea is a smidge firmer than average. If you like your mattress soft, consider the Siena Memory Foam Mattress. It's under $300 and has an average firmness, which felt great sleeping on my side. Plus, it's great for hot sleepers and couples and comes with a 180-night sleep trial. Another great budget option is the Allswell Mattress, the best cheap hybrid I've tested. At roughly the same price, the Allswell is firmer than the Zinus Cooling Comfort and sleeps warmer. Yet, it's a better option for couples, thanks to its terrific motion isolation and edge support. Best of all, I slept great on it. Read our full Allswell Mattress review. best cheap mattresses. The bottom line The Zinus Cooling Comfort Support Hybrid is the best option for hot sleepers on a budget, thanks to its impressive heat dissipation. You'll be hard-pressed to find a higher-quality hybrid mattress under $300 featuring CertiPUR-US and OEKO TEX-certified materials. It's not without its drawbacks, however. Due to its poor motion isolation, below-average edge support, and firmer than advertised feel, I recommend it for budget-conscious stomach and back sleepers who sleep alone.
