ITV Coronation Street star issues 'nine year' exit message as fans fume over same thing
Coronation Street star Paula Lane has taken to social media to mark nine years since her character, Kylie Platt, was killed off in dramatic scenes on the ITV soap. Former Coronation Street star Paula Lane has marked nine years since her dramatic exit from the popular soap as Kylie Platt. The actress made her debut on the cobbles back in 2010. Introduced as Becky McDonald's half-sister on the ITV soap, she initially sold her son Max to Becky before battling to regain custody. Paula took maternity leave from her role as nail technician Kylie in 2014. This followed a storyline that saw her character spiralling out of control by abusing her son's ADHD medication and seeking drugs from her ex, Callum Logan. Her husband David threw her out, caring for Max and their daughter Lily as a single dad. However, Kylie returned to the street in 2015 and soon found herself at the heart of the soap's live episode. As ITV viewers will recall, she killed her ex Callum by striking him with a wrench when she discovered him assaulting her sister-in-law Sarah. Paula bid farewell to the ITV soap as she prepared to welcome her second child. This marked a bittersweet conclusion for Kylie, as reported by the Manchester Evening News. Kylie had just revealed her family's plans to relocate to Barbados at the time of her death, to join her sister Becky, following her murder of ex Callum. However, her anticipation about the move was disrupted when she spotted close pal Gemma Winter being attacked by teenager Clayton. Kylie rushed to assist Gemma but was shockingly knifed in the chest by Clayton, who escaped the scene, leaving David to hold his dying spouse in his embrace. Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, nearly a decade after the scenes were broadcast, Paula uploaded a behind-the-scenes photograph from filming her devastating departure, showing herself lying on the cobblestones, chuckling in the arms of fellow actor Jack P Shepherd, who portrays David. "9 years! My memory feed always goes crazy around this time," Paula captioned the image before mentioning Corrie and Jack, who then shared the post on his own Instagram. However, some Corrie viewers expressed disappointment that the milestone wasn't acknowledged on the show, with one fan complaining: "Why didn't David or Lily bring up the fact its also the 9th anniversary of Kylie especially whilst discussing/processing another violent attacker? #corrie @itvcorrie it is like @Corriepedia doesn't exist." Recently, Paula has been spotted featuring in Emmerdale. She became part of the cast of the ITV soap in 2024 last year as Ella Forster, who was evidently concealing something significant. It emerged that Ella possessed a troubled past at the age of 11, having caused her best pals death and was imprisoned for the offence. Following her release, Ella, previously called Ruth, spent years relocating but ultimately sought security in the Dales. She had secured employment and was developing romantic feelings for Dr Liam Cavanagh. As the reformed killer's world fell apart once more, Ella was implicated in drugging Liam's current fiancée, Chas Dingle. Despite her denials, her pleas of innocence fell on deaf ears, resulting in her leaving the village. However, Ella made a final comeback to clear her name, but nearly caused Liam's death during a heated encounter in the woods. Fortunately, Liam survived the incident and encouraged Ella to get professional assistance. Following this, Ella was arrested again, marking her departure from Emmerdale.

What happened to Coronation Street's Beth Tinker? Exit explained ahead of tipped return
Coronation Street's Beth Tinker, played by Lisa George, exited the ITV soap last year in a huge blackmailing twist but could she be making a highly-anticipated return? Coronation Street fan chats have been rife with speculation there could be a return on the cards for one beloved character. It comes following the devastating scenes on the soap of Craig Tinker's tragic death. Craig, played by Colson Smith, left fans devastated as he met a violent end and was written off the programme on Wedneday's episode, May 21. However his on-screen mum Beth has been tipped by hopeful fans to make an appearance for his character's funeral. But what actually happened to Beth and why did she exit the show? Lisa George, 52, left the ITV soap last year following 13 years on the cobbles and after being blackmailed by Kit. She first debuted on the show as Beth 14 years ago in 2011, alongside on-screen son Craig. The beloved character had been caught up in dodgy dealings, and with newcomer Kit on to her, she concluded it was best to get out of the way for the sake of Craig. To make the exit hit deeper, Kirk proposed, giving Beth everything she wanted. Actress Lisa George said on the devastating twist at the time: "It was so hard and it was sad. I was really sad filming it myself because it was gorgeous, and you see in that scene it was heartbreaking, because it was everything that she wanted. It was awful. "She broke his heart, and even when she left he was saying, 'I'll change, I'll change whatever you want,' believing it was his fault. "I got a right lump in my throat when we filmed it, because it actually felt really real when she said, 'You know, you haven't done anything wrong. You don't need to change. You're always perfect to me.' That was really hard. It was really sad." It comes as fans of the ITV soap have excitedly been speculating if Beth star Lisa would be returning to the cobbles for Craig's funeral. One person said: "Gonna miss our Craig, hope this means your back for a while to say goodbye?", a different account wrote: "Aww hope you're back soon, would make sense as a mother", another commented: "please come back for his funeral" while a different account added: "hope you'll be back for his funeral." Taking to Instagram on Wednesday night following the heartbreaking episodes, actress Lisa shared her thoughts on the soap exit by posting a collection of snaps of Beth and Craig over the years. Lisa penned: "Our Craigy… the best mother and son duo for 13 years. Well done with all you've achieved @colsonjsmith!! A new chapter begins, wishing you all the luck in the world! It was a pleasure working with you for all that time and I can't wait to see what you do next #corrie #coronationstreet #motherandson #craig #beth #actorslife #workworkwork #itv." Responding to the post, Craig star Colson penned: "Thank you Lisa! His mum would have kept him safe! Xx." Earlier this year, Colson announced his departure from the soap, revealing: "Autumn last year I was told that Craig Tinkers time on the Cobbles is to come to end in 2025." He further expressed his gratitude for his 14-year tenure on the show, as well as crediting the show with teaching him valuable life lessons. Colson signed off his announcement with: "For Me, this is just the end of the beginning. I genuinely can't wait to see what chapter 2 has in store for me. LONG LIVE THE COBBLES!"

"You know, some folk, they don't believe in the one - rubbish! "Because, when you know, my god, you know." A scene of Julie's partner Brian collecting her flowers flashed up on the screen as she recited her words. Most read in Soaps Julie continued: "It might take five minutes or five years but when that penny drops, you realise what your life is for. "How it feels to care about someone else, more than you'll ever care about yourself." Coronation Street's Julie Carp reveals her devastating secret - and it's going to be heartbreaking Julie's speech continued as she reflected on life and love. Later, she planned for a day out with Eileen but made sure to speak at length with her nephew Todd and partner Brian before they went away. She praised Todd and sympathised with him amid his ongoing romantic difficulty with Theo. Julie thanked Brian for his love and devotion and she hugged them both tightly in what appeared to be a goodbye hug - unbeknown to them. Eventually, Julie and Eileen arrived at the lake where they shared a heart-to-heart with one another with Julie insisting there was no one else she would rather be with. She then asked her sister to fetch them some drinks from a refreshment van some distance away but upon Eileen returning, Julie had passed away. Having called the paramedics, they revealed Julie had a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) order in place and as such there was nothing more they could do for her. Beside herself, Eileen returned home where she sobbed over the passing of her sister. George told her that during their day at the lake, he discovered another video on Julie's phone, filmed today, which encouraged Eileen to dump him after fearing the relationship had run its course. Julie acknowledged there was no wrongdoing by either party and thus suggested now was the right time to call things quits before people got hurt and upset. Eileen was then left grieving her sister as well as dealing with the information she had been left. As Todd eventually comforted her, a stark reality began to dawn upon the pair. Todd suggested that it was highly likely that Julie had committed suicide. With her diagnosis suggesting she had months left to live, her death came out of the blue for her family. Todd went on to insist that Julie filming a slew of goodbye videos before having tearful 'final' conversations with her loved ones was a sure-fire sign that she knew that today would be her final day. He also said her sending Eileen away for drinks was merely a ploy in order to take her own life. As Eileen looked on reflectively, the mother and son duo comforted each other as Julie's death began to sink in. Dancing on Ice fans cry 'robbery' as 2025 winner is announced
Dancing on Ice's 2025 final saw Sam Aston crowned champion on Sunday, 9 March. Beating ex-professional footballer Anton Ferdinand and Springwatch's Michaela Strachan to the ice trophy, this victory for the soap actor (Aston plays Chesney Brown in Coronation Street) left many annoyed on social media. Although some of the viewership acknowledged his likeability, there's a prevailing argument of "robbery" doing the rounds as Strachan was the people's choice for winning the competition. Among the comments, one person said: "@michaelastracha and @Mark_Hanretty were absolutely robbed tonight I cannot even believe I am saying this! #dancingonice." "I'm sorry but the #corrie fans have robbed michaela like they did many of the other contestants," claimed one incensed X user. "On what PLANET did Sam deserve that over Michaela [I] used to love #DancingOnIce but that is a sin and a complete fix," was another complaint. Read his celebratory tweet as the final concluded. "Gutted for Michaela but feel like Sam was very much the underdog and never really got the praise he deserved," pointed out somebody else. As her ice rink rival danced in the golden confetti raining down on him, Strachan was predictably gracious in defeat and made sure to highlight the work of her professional partner Mark Hanretty.
