Stock market recommendations: According to Sudeep Shah, Head - Technical Research and Derivatives, SBICAP Securities, Trent and Bharti Airtel are the top stock picks for today.
Here's his view on Nifty, Bank Nifty and the top stock picks with a 3-month horizon:
Index View: Nifty View
G
lobal equity markets staged an upside rally after the US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel, easing geopolitical tensions and reviving global risk appetite. This positive sentiment lifted Dow Futures and major Asian indices, which are currently trading higher.
Reflecting the global optimism, India's benchmark index Nifty opened with a gap-up on Tuesday and is now hovering near the upper boundary of its ongoing consolidation zone between 25222 and 24462 — a range it has been oscillating within for the past 29 consecutive trading sessions.
Technically, the index is trading above both its short-term and long-term moving averages, a sign of underlying strength. Notably, the short-term averages, which had been moving sideways in recent sessions, have now started to slope upwards.

Meanwhile, the daily RSI is approaching the key 60 mark — a development typically viewed as bullish.
Given the current chart structure and improving momentum indicators, the index appears poised to continue its northward trajectory. In the near term, it could test levels of 25400, followed by 25550. On the downside, the support zone of 25080–25050 is expected to cushion any pullback.
Bank Nifty View:
The banking benchmark index, Bank Nifty, has recently found support near its 34-day EMA and has since been trending higher in a gradual but steady manner.
It now trades just a stone's throw away from its all-time high levels. All key moving averages are aligned positively, and momentum-based indicators are pointing toward sustained bullish strength in the index.
Given the prevailing technical structure, we expect Bank Nifty to extend its upward momentum in the near term and potentially test the 57000 mark, followed by 57500. On the downside, the support zone of 56300–56200 is likely to offer immediate protection against any short-term pullback.

The stock marked a low of 4488 in the month of April 2025 and thereafter started marking the sequence of higher tops and higher bottoms along with relatively higher volume. Recently, the stock has started outperforming the frontline indices. The ratio chart of the stock as compared to the Nifty index has given a consolidation breakout on a daily scale. Currently, the stock is trading above its short and long-term moving averages.
These averages are in the rising mode, which is a bullish sign. The daily RSI is trading at a 9-month high, which is a bullish sign.
Hence, we recommend to accumulate the stock in the zone of 6150-6100 with a stoploss of Rs 5730 level. On the upside, it is likely to test the level of 6860 in the short term.

The stock has given a 9-week consolidation breakout on a weekly scale along with relatively higher volume. In addition, on breakout week, it has formed a sizable bullish candle, which adds strength to the breakout. As the stock is trading at all-time high levels all the moving averages and momentum-based indicators are showing strong bullish momentum in the stock. The weekly RSI has formed a strong base near the 60 level and thereafter witnessed a strong rebound, which is a bullish sign as per RSI range shift rules.
Hence, we recommend to accumulate the stock in the zone of 1940-1920 with a stoploss of Rs 1830 level. On the upside, it is likely to test the level of 2150 in the short term.

Big 4, big bills, diminishing returns: Why Indian students are pulling back on the study abroad dream
The gleam of ivory towers and the allure of boarding a flight to a foreign land once symbolised more than just academic prestige; they enshrined a long-nurtured utopia of success, stability, and a better life. However, the glitter is rapidly tarnishing. The once cherished dream is now crumbling under the weight of apprehensions. The "Big 4" the US, UK, Canada, and Australia have long upheld the bastions of academic excellence. Today, the reputation is getting dimmed. The narrative of unquestioned promise is paving the path for hard realisation. Indian students are not chasing the study abroad dream blindly. They are weighing it with calculators in hand. According to India's Ministry of External Affairs, the number of Indian students heading abroad dropped by 15% between 2023 and early 2024, from 893,000 to 759,000. The reason behind this drop is not linked to a lack of ambition, but is met with harsh realities: Surging tuition fees, restrictive immigration regimes, and the sobering decline of post-study returns. Fortress nations: How the Big 4 are locking students out One by one, the Big 4 countries have pulled up their drawbridges. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Esse novo alarme com câmera é quase gratuito em Passo Fundo (consulte o preço) Alarmes Undo Canada, in 2024, introduced a cap on student permits and hiked financial requirements to CAD 20,635. Australia doubled its visa fees and demanded higher proof of funds. The UK not only banned most dependents from accompanying international students but also raised the minimum salary threshold for Skilled Worker visas to £38,700. In the US, F-1 visa issuances fell by 38% year-on-year, according to the US Department of State, while Optional Practical Training (OPT) remained under political siege. The message is etched in black and white: These nations want Indian tuition dollars, but not the students who bring them. This two-faced approach has not gone unnoticed. Degrees without destinations: The global job market collapse The job markets in these countries have cratered, especially for fresh international graduates. According to Indeed, graduate job postings in the UK dropped by 33% in the 12 months leading up to June 2024. The Institute of Student Employers noted that each entry-level job received an average of 140 applications in 2024, a sharp rise from 86 in 2023. Artificial Intelligence, economic retrenchments are rooting out entry-level jobs. The accounting sector witnessed a 44% drop in junior openings. Human resources has seen a 62% decline. Firms like PwC, Deloitte, KPMG, and EY are relying more on automation, gutting the very roles Indian students traditionally filled after graduation. From lecture halls to gig work: The unspoken reality The glossy brochures often portray innovation labs and job-ready programmes, but the lived reality for numerous students is grinding gig work, mounting debt, and mental exhaustion. The promise of gobal exposure has morphed into long hours in kitchens, warehouses, and convenience stores just to make the rent. The economic hardship bleeds into physical and psychological health. Burnout, anxiety, and a sense of betrayal are common among those who invested lakhs, even crores, into foreign degrees only to return empty-handed. Exit the West: A strategic pivot to sanity Indian students are now shifting their focus after facing these compounding challenges. Germany witnessed a 68% surge in Indian enrollments in 2024, according to the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), thanks to affordable education, clear post-study pathways, and residency clarity. France, the Netherlands, Ireland, and the UAE are also emerging as feasible alternative study abroad destinations. Indian students are not completely shrugging off the study abroad dream. They are recalculating. Students now prefer certainty over prestige, affordability over branding, and sustainability over fantasy. Beyond the brochures: Strategy over sentiment The rules of the game have changed. Reputation no longer guarantees outcome. Indian students are no longer swept away by ivy-covered campuses and glossy rankings. They're asking harder questions: Will this degree pay off? Will I be allowed to stay? Will I find a job that lets me build a life? In 2025, international education is no longer a rite of passage. It is a high-stakes financial decision. One that must be taken with calculators, not dreams. The script of the study abroad has completely altered. Shining degrees from Ivies no longer guarantee success. Indian students are no longer pulled by the reputation and glittery courses offered by Ivy-covered campuses with glossy international rankings. They are asking tougher questions: Will this degree pay off? Will I find a job that lets me build a life? The new intelligence: Know the numbers or pay the price Students are no longer just aiming high, but weighing practicality. Success is being redefined: Not by crossing borders, but by reading between the lines of visa rules, post-study rights, and job prospects. The foreign degree hasn't met its end; it is still breathing in the hearts of the students. But the blind chase has gone, the glitter has faded. What prevails is a stark question: One where those who fail to do the math end up paying the price for years to come. Is your child ready for the careers of tomorrow? Bitcoin surges past $105,000, Ethereum jumps 8% and altcoins rally; traders eye Powell's speech for next leg up
Bitcoin surged past the $105,000 mark on Tuesday, lifted by easing geopolitical tensions and robust inflows into spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs). As of 12:31 pm IST, the world's largest cryptocurrency was up 3.7% at $105,785, while Ethereum gained 8% to $2,430. The total crypto market capitalisation rose 4.74% to $3.27 trillion, according to CoinMarketCap, according to an ET report. The rally followed US President Donald Trump's announcement of a ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel, which calmed investor fears about a prolonged geopolitical crisis and oil supply disruptions, the report said. Major altcoins tracked Bitcoin's rise. Solana surged 9%, Sui climbed 15%, and Chainlink added 12%. Other notable gainers included XRP (8.4%), Dogecoin (8%), Avalanche (8%), and Shiba Inu (10%). 'The ceasefire alleviated immediate concerns about global oil disruptions and restored geopolitical stability, prompting capital to flow back into risk assets,' said Edul Patel, Co-founder and CEO of Mudrex, in a comment to ET. He added that if Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell hints at rate cuts in his address later in the day, Bitcoin could break past the $107,700 resistance level. Giottus CEO Vikram Subburaj told ET that spot Bitcoin ETFs saw $133 million in inflows. 'Despite short-term holders reacting to geopolitical news by moving 14,700 BTC to exchanges, the overall structure shows ongoing accumulation,' he said. Sathvik Vishwanath, Co-Founder and CEO of Unocoin, said institutional support remains a key driver. 'Bitcoin has swept liquidity at $100K and now eyes the $110K–$112K zone. If bulls defend $102K, the next leg could aim for $120K,' he was quoted as saying by ET. The CoinDCX Research Team highlighted that the rally coincides with favourable regulatory developments. 'The Federal Reserve has removed the 'reputational risk' clause penalising Bitcoin and crypto. Saylor's MicroStrategy added another $26 million worth of Bitcoin, bringing its total to 592,345 BTC valued at $41.87 billion,' the team told ET. They also noted that Europe's Blockchain Group recently added 75 BTC to its holdings, which now total 1,728 BTC. The Crypto Fear and Greed Index rose to 65, re-entering the 'Greed' zone and reflecting increased investor confidence. However, analysts cautioned that high funding rates could trigger short-term pullbacks. 'Capital is rotating into majors, and with Bitcoin dominance at 64.5%, this signals market strength. But traders should stay cautious near $110K—whether it's a breakout or a bull trap will shape the next wave,' Vishwanath added, according to ET. Market participants now await Powell's comments for further cues on interest rate policy. A dovish tone, analysts believe, could amplify bullish momentum and push Bitcoin closer to new all-time highs. Rupee surges 75 paise to close at 86.03 against U.S. dollar as global crude oil prices crash
The rupee recovered from record low level and closed with a steep gain of 75 paise at 86.03 (provisional) against the U.S. dollar as global crude oil prices went down following hopes of de-escalation in West Asia tensions. A weak greenback and positive sentiments in the domestic equity markets further boosted the local unit, according to forex traders. Brent crude, the global oil benchmark, plummeted 3.19% to $69.20 per barrel in futures trade as U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Iran and Israel agreed to a ceasefire. At the interbank foreign exchange, the local unit opened at 86.07 against the U.S. dollar and traded in the range of 85.91-86.27 before closing at 86.03 (provisional), up 75 paise from its previous close. The rupee had plunged 23 paise to close at a five-month low of 86.78 against the U.S. dollar on Monday. Anuj Choudhary, Research Analyst at Mirae Asset Sharekhan, said the rupee gained on improved global risk sentiments on reports of a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. Also, Choudhary said a sharp decline in crude oil prices and positive domestic markets favoured the rupee, while the dollar index softened amid the ceasefire reports. Going forward, he said, traders may take cues from US consumer confidence and Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's testimony. "USD-INR spot price is expected to trade in a range of Rs 85.60-86.40." Meanwhile, the dollar index, which gauges the greenback's strength against a basket of six currencies, was trading 0.48% lower at 97.94. In the domestic equity market Sensex rose 158.32 points to settle at 82,055.11, while Nifty climbed 72.45 points to 25,044.35. Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) offloaded equities worth ₹1,874.38 crore on a net basis on Monday, according to exchange data.
