Kaizer Chiefs: Nabi reacts to another pre-season defeat
The pre-season match, played at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, finished 0-0 after 90 minutes and penalties were needed to separate the two sides.
Amakhosi were the better team overall but failed to take their chances. In the 82nd minute, captain Miguel Inacio missed a penalty after Mduduzi Shabalala was brought down in the penalty box.
'I think it was a game that was very instructive… with the performance, we came with a lot of answers with what we have been working on and what we need to do going forward, it was a positive performance overall,' Nabi told SABC Sport.
'We had the opportunity to win the game, during the game, we missed it. We had the opportunity to win the game on penalties, we missed it – unfortunately we wanted to finish with offering our supporters, the victory and finish the day with joy. But unfortunately on penalties it can be unpredictable.'
Nabi feels Kaizer Chiefs can still improve with two weeks left before the Betway Premiership kicks off.
'The support was very positive, we're going into the right direction from the physical side, but we need… we're in the last week of pre-season, we know the negative points, for this game was very important for us to see that,' he added.
'Where the problems are, where the quality is and we'll push to improve the quality and correct the negatives. But I have satisfaction for some points today,' he concluded.
Kaizer Chiefs have already signed six players ahead of the new season but Nabi hinted more players might come in before the transfer window closes.

Sundowns outcast addresses Kaizer Chiefs rumours
Mamelodi Sundowns outcast Terrence Mashego has addressed rumours that Kaizer Chiefs are interested in his services. Mashego has not been a regular since joining the Brazilians from Cape Town City two seasons ago. In fact, he has often been used sparingly by different coaches at Sundowns, and with Miguel Cardoso in charge, it doesn't seem like Mashego is on his plans. And this was fueled by Sundowns' decision to allow him to go to the Bafana Bafana camp for the upcoming CHAN tournament. Bafana Bafana will travel to East Africa for the tournament which only allows local-based to feature in, and Mashego together with Neo Maema are part of that squad. It is worth noting that the majority of those selected by Ntseki are free agents, which brings doubt on Mashego's future at Sundowns. Now, speaking to SoccerBeat while in the Bafana Bafana camp, the left-footed player said all the rumours are dealt with by his agent. Mamelodi Sundowns defender Terrence Mashego. Image: Sundowns website 'Remember, I have an agent, and also, I'm still contracted to Sundowns,' said Mashego. 'They are the ones that are dealing with everything. My job is to report to training. If there is a match, I just need to report to the game. 'So, the rumours and stuff are being dealt [with] by my agent,' added Mashego. Kaizer Chiefs lock down midfield star amid Euro transfer threat
Kaizer Chiefs have taken decisive action to ward off mounting European interest in Nkosingiphile Ngcobo by activating a crucial clause in his contract. With a Dutch club reportedly circling, the Glamour Boys have extended the 25-year-old midfielder's stay at Naturena until June 2027. This strategic move not only protects the club's on-field plans but also safeguards their financial interests in one of their home-grown assets. The source confirmed that the club recently triggered a one-year option in Ngcobo's contract, an option that pushes his current deal from 2026 to 2027. The decision follows renewed belief in the midfielder's value under the current technical team. 'Last year it was not clear whether he was going to stay or not,' a source revealed. 'But this season it's believed that things have changed and the club is willing to keep him because the technical team wants him to be part of the squad which will play an important part this season.' This shift in approach comes after a less certain spell for Ngcobo in the previous campaign. Where his future seemed to hang in the balance. The move to secure Ngcobo's future wasn't just about footballing plans, it was also a calculated financial play. Chiefs are fully aware that letting a valuable asset edge closer to free agency could cost them dearly. 'The club is aware that if they don't exercise his option as soon as possible then they could lose him for free or at least close to nothing because his contract was coming to an end in June 2026,' the source added. 'So with the exercising of the one-year option it gives the club the chance to negotiate a better price if the move was to happen.' Should Kaizer Chiefs extend Ngcobo's contract?
