Ashley Madison's June 2025 data shows Kanchipuram leading in signups. Nine Delhi-NCR locations are in the top 20. Check full list
Ashley Madison, the global dating platform marketed primarily for individuals seeking extramarital relationships, released new user data for June 2025 that placed India among its fastest-growing markets owing to increase in signups in smaller cities and towns.
According to the platform's latest figures, Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu recorded the highest rate of signups across India, surpassing cities like Delhi and Mumbai. The town has seen a dramatic spike in activity on the site as in 2024, it ranked 17th. Ashley Madison did not offer an explanation for the town's sharp rise but Kanchipuram's position in the list reflects a growing footprint for the app in tier-2 and tier-3 cities as some metro areas fall behind.
Where Do Metro Cities Stand In The List?
The newly released list of the top 20 Indian districts by Ashley Madison signups includes nine locations from the Delhi-NCR region, including six Delhi districts- Central Delhi (ranked second), South West Delhi, East Delhi, South Delhi, West Delhi and North West Delhi- as well as neighbouring cities Gurgaon, Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida).
In contrast, Mumbai did not make it to the top 20 while cities such as Jaipur, Raigarh, Kamrup and Chandigarh featured prominently. Ghaziabad and Jaipur, both tier-2 cities, outpaced many urban hubs in signups and activity, the list showed. The platform said the rankings were based not only on new user signups but also on activity intensity and engagement data that signal trends in infidelity and non-monogamy.
In April, Ashley Madison shared results from a YouGov survey, which revealed that India and Brazil reported the highest rates of admitted infidelity among adults. According to the survey, 53 percent of Indian respondents admitted to having had an affair.
Paul Keable, Chief Strategy Officer at Ashley Madison, said, 'This data highlights a striking trend- India is leading the way in redefining modern relationships with more than half of surveyed adults admitting to infidelity. India is already ranked sixth among our global markets and we anticipate it climbing even higher by the end of the year. These numbers suggest the growing acceptance of non-monogamy."

Hero Ex-Marine Stops Walmart Stabber, Holds Attacker At Gunpoint Until Police Arrive

Last Updated: The attacker, identified as 42-year-old Bradford James Gille, reportedly launched his rampage near the checkout counters before attempting to flee. A brutal stabbing at a Walmart in Traverse City, Michigan, left 11 people injured on Sunday, but a much larger tragedy was averted thanks to the courage of two bystanders. Leading the charge was former Marine Derrick Perry, now hailed as a hero across social media. Verified video shows the suspect cornered in the store's parking lot, motionless as Perry kept him pinned at gunpoint until police moved in. While authorities have yet to officially confirm his identity, locals and family members have proudly named Perry online, praising his bravery. One post read, 'This is Derrick Perry! He risked his life to save many." His daughter-in-law added, 'So proud. He protected so many." The attacker, identified as 42-year-old Bradford James Gille, reportedly launched his rampage near the checkout counters before attempting to flee. That's when two veterans — Perry and fellow former Marine Matt Kolakowski — intervened. Kolakowski, unarmed, rammed the assailant with a shopping cart, knocking him down. Perry then drew his licensed firearm, holding the suspect at bay until other civilians helped subdue him and officers took over. All 11 victims were rushed to Munson Medical Centre, where three required surgery. view comments First Published: July 28, 2025, 07:21 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
