Rap icon cancels gig one hour before performance after 'unforeseen illness'
Instead, fans were left staring at a screen announcing the show was postponed due to an 'unforeseen illness.'
Lil Wayne was scheduled to perform for his Canadian fans as part of his Tha Carter VI Tour, which kicked off in June and is set to run until October.
No one saw it coming – the venue had already filled up, and the announcement dropped at 8 pm, a whole hour after the show was meant to start.
The screen lit up with a message saying Weezy was too sick to perform, but he 'loves putting on nothing short of the best performances.'
It promised that all tickets would still be valid for the rescheduled date, but as of now, that date is a mystery.
There's been no official follow-up or apology from the 42-year-old's team, but fans online were clearly disappointed.
One fan, @fridayrickdred, took to X to say: 'Lil Wayne cancels Toronto concert last min! We gotta talk about Wayne possibly destroying his legacy. He might be inching towards COOKED status! Or is he already there?'
'You still the best rapper ever though but you broke my heart tn,' @lefthooklili added.
Tha Carter VI Tour is set to cover over 30 cities across North America.
That includes stops in New York, Detroit, Vegas, and more – and yes, Toronto was one of the more hyped ones as it was his first show back in Canada since 2023.
Wayne is touring off the back of his new album, Tha Carter VI, which dropped on June 6 and features an insane mix of guests – Bono, Andrea Bocelli, Big Sean, Jelly Roll, and even his own sons.
The album marks his 14th studio release, and for a rapper with over two decades in the game, he's still pushing his sound.
The song Island Holiday even samples Weezer's Island in the Sun, bringing in a whole different vibe.
Another standout is Bells, a track that flips LL Cool J's Rock the Bells – and yes, LL joined Wayne on stage at the Madison Square Garden tour opener to perform it live.
The performance was a big deal for the rapper, as it was Wayne's first time headlining the iconic venue.
The next scheduled show is in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, on August 16 – and as of now, it's still on. More Trending
Meanwhile, Wayne's got more going on than just the tour.
He's headlining the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Festival in Vegas this September alongside Maroon 5, LL Cool J, and Bryan Adams – a pretty wild lineup.
He's also popping up on other people's tracks – like Chance the Rapper's new single Tree, which dropped last week and features a solid Wayne verse.
Wayne may be nearly 20 years removed from Tha Carter II, but he's proving he's still a major player in 2025..

'Incredible' Netflix film based on true events is leaving viewers in tears
The movie has recently joined Netflix's large library and a well-known and film critic has 'begged' viewers to add it to their watch list, praising it as as "incredible" true story Netflix is renowned for its vast library of films and TV series spanning a multitude of genres. From comedies to dramas, westerns to documentaries, and even more niche categories like foreign films and music, there's something for everyone on the popular streaming platform. The anticipation of new releases often has fans buzzing, offering them fresh content they may not have discovered otherwise. Netflix boasts plenty of original shows and films for viewers to dive into, as well as classic blockbusters. Luke Eccleston has earned a solid reputation for his candid TV and film reviews, with a particular focus on Netflix. In his most recent TikTok video, he recommends an incredibly moving film that has just been added to the streaming giant's catalogue. Eccleston stated: "Forget about everything else on Netflix because this is the next film you need to watch. "It's a film everyone's gonna be talking about. It's a film that you definitely need to see as it is one of the most heartwrenching, gut punching, incredible stories you will ever see because it's actually true." The TV fan then shared that the film is titled The Iron Claw. It premiered in the UK in February last year and follows the journey of the Von Erich brothers as they carve out their legacy in the fiercely competitive world of professional wrestling during the early 1980s. Eccleston mentioned that when he watched The Iron Claw at the cinema he found it "genuinely unbelievable." Providing further information about the film, which holds an 89% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, he added: "It shows the competitiveness of wrestling and that whole entire world and how much it means to this family. "Now, even if you're not a fan of wrestling or sports at all, like me, this is a story everyone should hear." The TV and movie critic described it as "one of the best" true stories he has ever seen. Eccleston went on: "So make sure you get this film on your watch list. I actually beg you to check this one out." His TikTok clip has racked up 26y,600 views, 3,000 likes and more than 100 comments to date. One viewer, who has seen The Iron Claw, enthused: "That film is insane. I cannot believe it's true, it's amazing." Someone else who had seen the film was deeply touched, saying: "It's been on HBO part of their A24 collection btw! For anyone who has HBO. This movie broke me down and had me tearing on a plane. That ending." Sean Durkin, a Canadian-American film director and screenwriter, directed The Iron Claw. The movie's cast members include Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White, Harris Dickinson, Lily James, Maura Tierney, Stanley Simons and Holt McCallany.

But a few days earlier, the pair shared a video on their YouTube channel that would serve as their haunting swansong. Titled "VANCOUVER ISLAND | The Off-Road Version", the hour-long video shows them putting Toyota trucks through an "ultimate test" in the rough terrain. The video shows them camping out in the stunning Canadian scenery while testing their trucks on the rocky trail. Heartbroken fans in the comments section have paid tribute to the influencer couple. One user said: "I'm in absolute shock hearing that these two beautiful souls are no longer with us. "My condolences to not only their family and friends, but also viewers that appreciated them, their projects, and their adventures." Another commented: "We wished this episode would have lasted forever, as it meant we'd never have to truly say goodbye. "We didn't get the chance to meet you, but you gave more inspiration than you knew. "Hope you're on an amazing trail leading to an even better campsite. Rest easy to the coolest people we never met." Popular influencer couple killed in horror off-road crash in 'the beautiful mountains they loved so much' in Canada News of the couple's passing was shared on social media by friends and family - and was also confirmed by Kaslo Search and Rescue. Kaslo SAR manager Mark Jennings-Bates said rescuers were called to an off-road motor vehicle incident around 7:30pm local time on August 7. He said: "So it was on a forestry road, somewhere in the mountains, and quite a long ways north in the valley up towards [...] the village of Trout Lake. "Our teams were able to get to them efficiently. "It's a long journey, but they got there efficiently. So that was very, very helpful. "And of course that means that the helicopter pilot could also fly straight to the destination with confidence that he was going to find them." He added that one occupant of the vehicle was dead when they arrived at the scene, while the other later passed away in hospital. The precise cause of the crash remains unknown, but the working theory is that the vehicle lost control on rough terrain. Tourout's mother Colleen paid tribute in a heartwrenching Facebook post. She wrote: "With unimaginable heartache, the families of Matthew Peter Yeomans and Stacey Tourout would like to advise that we lost them both tragically succumbing to injuries in an offroad accident on Aug 7, 2025 in the beautiful mountains of British Columbia that they loved so much. "Please keep us and them in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this devastating end to an amazing Love Story. "They are together forever as we knew they would always be." 7 Tourout's mother Colleen paid tribute in a heartwrenching Facebook post 7 The precise cause of the crash remains unknown Credit: YouTube
