Extra rail services added ahead of sold-out Oasis concerts
The train operator announced that extra carriages as well as additional late-night services will be added to routes heading to and from the capital.
Thousands of fans are set to descend on the capital when brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher bring their record-breaking comeback tour to the home of Scottish Rugby on August 8, 9, and 12.
Additional late-night services will operate from Edinburgh to Glasgow, Dundee, Dunblane, and Perth.
Haymarket station is also expected to be much busier than normal in the afternoon and early evening, with concertgoers being encouraged to walk to the station directly if they can.
Customers travelling by rail are encouraged to buy return tickets through the mTicket system on the ScotRail app, where they will become available on a mobile device and reduce the likelihood of queueing on the day of travel.
Phil Campbell, ScotRail customer operations director, said: 'There's real excitement building ahead of Oasis at Murrayfield, and we're thrilled to be helping fans travel to these massive shows.
'With more trains running throughout August for the Edinburgh Festivals, and additional late-night services for the gigs themselves, the train is the best way to get to and from the concerts.
'We're encouraging everyone to plan their journey in advance, make the most of the extra services, and soak up the atmosphere of a great night in the capital.'

The musician, 52, was caught on camera by a sneaky fan as he headed inside, but catching the lens the star made it known he had been seen as he mimed a drug reference. However the star has left his wild antics behind and now priorities his well being with his 'health trip' seeing him cutting back on booze and stop drug taking. He previously told The Sun: 'You've got to undo all the bad work you've done through f***ing getting off your head and all that. 'It's time to undo it all now and get back to reality. All that stuff that you thought was cool in the early days . . . it's time to get healthy.' 'As you get older, life is precious, do you know what I mean? I'm a pretty happy-go-lucky guy. I love waking up early in the morning.' Meanwhile it was also revealed Liam has been drinking apple cider vinegar on the Oasis tour after vowing to ditch the booze. Before the reunion gigs kicked off, Liam vowed to cut alcohol out his diet to keep his voice in check for the stage. After years of drinking heavily on tour in the nineties, Liam prefers a glass of the soft drink. Liam has previously spoke about his love for apple cider vinegar and honey and how it helps his voice. He said: 'I drink a lot of funky drinks. I have this apple cider vinegar, the one that everyone bangs on about. 'So I have vinegar, some honey and then I have some turmeric, some cayenne pepper, a squirt of lemon, hot water, stir it round and drink it. 'It's really good for when you get a hoarse voice. I've got a thyroid problem – Hashimoto's disease – so I can get a really hoarse voice.' In 2023 Liam revealed that he needed the joints replacing in his hip due to arthritis as a result of a longstanding thyroid problem. He then underwent a major hip operation. Before that in 2017 he was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease, an autoimmune condition of the thyroid gland. In addition he also suffers with the skin condition psoriasis. Speaking about his hip issues in 2023 he said: 'My hips are f***ed, I've got arthritis, bad. 'I went to get it checked out and my bones are mashed up. The lady was going, 'Oh, you might need a hip operation, a replacement.'' He said at the time he didn't want the operation because of the 'stigma'. 'I think I'd rather just be in pain. Which is ridiculous, obviously. I know that. Just get them fixed. But it's the stigma, saying you've had your hips replaced. What's next?' Taking to social media he penned: 'Morning Rastas so I had my Hip operation last wk all went well and RESPEK to all the doctors n nurses who looked after me Big shout out to the A team for getting us home safe n sound' He told MoJo magazine: 'When the weather's cold, my hips are like snap, crackle and pop. I need warmth. 'I can't sleep at night for the pain. Tossing and turning. So I'm on herbal sleeping tablets and they've saved my life. One of them, seven hours out, no pain, nothing. 'My new thing is Deep Heat. Caked myself in it on the knees and hips, the calves, then into the steam room for as long as I can handle it.' Liam, a keen jogger, was told by doctors to run less to help manage the condition. In the interview he also spoke about his psoriasis, saying he once met a fan who thought he had cocaine in his hair - but it was actually bits of skin from his itchy scalp. He said: 'I've got psoriasis, so I had obviously been scratching it during the day and there were little white bits and s**t. They were taking it out of my hair and putting it on their gums and putting it up their f***ing nose!' Dad of 'lifelong fan' who fell to death at Oasis gig pays heartbreaking tribute
Lee Claydon, 45, died after falling from a balcony at one of Oasis's performances at Wembley Stadium - in an emotional tribute, his father described him as a 'lovely, lovely bloke' The father of an Oasis fan who plunged to death at their Wembley Stadium gig has paid a heartbreaking tribute to his "lovely, lovely" son. Lee Claydon, from Bournemouth in Dorset, was pronounced dead on Saturday after sustaining "injuries consistent with a fall". The 45-year-old is thought to have fallen from the upper tier balcony of the stadium during the concert. Lee leaves behind his son, dad, partner, brothers, sisters, nephews and niece. His father Clive Claydon, 75, has now revealed that his son was a "lifelong" fan of the band, and had been excited to see them live along with his brother Aaron, and his niece and nephew. It comes after a mum left a 16-month-old baby home alone to die when she went on holiday. Clive told The Sun: 'He was a lifelong Oasis fan and he was so looking forward to going. Out of all the thousands of people there why's it got to be my son?" He said Lee lived with his partner and son Harry in Bournemouth, and was "lovely, lovely bloke" who "no one could say a bad thing about ever." At the weekend, shocked gig-goers described witnessing the horror moment the dad fell from the balcony during the lively concert. Writing on social media, one parent said her teenage son "saw him falling" but couldn't see the landing, while another woman said she saw the man fall into their block, calling the incident "awful". Claire Collier posted: "It happened about [five] mins before the end of the gig, it was awful... thinking of his family and friends and everyone that witnessed it." Vincent Muylle, who was also at the gig, described the mood inside the venue as "euphoric" until the "very shocking" fall occurred. "He fell, right in front of us," he recounted. Petrina Whiley also spoke of the collective disbelief among those who were in the block the following day, saying: "I think we are all in a state of shock at what happened last night." A GoFundMe page has been set up in the hope that any donations, big or small, will go a long way towards helping his family throughout this awful period. A message on the page reads: "Lee was a loving family man who was a role model to his son Harry and was loved so much by all his family. Lee would have done anything for any of us and he was taken from us far too soon and we will miss him so very much "Lee loved all outdoor activities, one of his favourite hobbies was fishing. He also loved music and his guitar. He also really enjoyed going to watch and support the boys and his nephew at their football games. Amanda and the boys have our full support at this very sad time which is why we would love to be able to help them financially as well as emotionally. "Please help us raise as much funds as we can to take one worry off Amanda and family right now as they are going through any family's worst nightmare." A statement released by the band following the incident said: "We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of a fan at the show last night. Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved."

Oasis fan Lee Claydon sadly died following a fall at the band's gig on Saturday night and his last social post has been revealed where he responded to a message from his brother A dad's last three-word social media post shows his excitement about going to an Oasis gig where he tragically fell to his death. Lee Claydon was pronounced dead at the scene at Wembley Stadium on Saturday having suffered 'injuries consistent with a fall'. He is understood to have fallen from the upper tier balcony at the London concert while the crowd was enjoying fireworks and cheering the show. Before the gig Aaron Claydon, brother of beloved Lee , had written on Facebook 'today is gonna be the day', a reference to the Oasis smash-hit 'Wonderwall'. It comes after teenage thugs beat rough sleeper to death and laughed as he lay in street. And possibly one of the last times Lee posted on social media was a comment in response to his brother's post. He tagged his brother and other family members in the post. And Lee commented: "Cheers our kid". Since the incident, Aaron set up a GoFundMe page in honour of his brother and to help with financial support for his family. In a touching tribute, Aaron said his brother was the person he 'always looked up to' and that their family has been 'turned upside down' by his death. The family including his partner Amanda is 'struggling to deal with this devastation and unexpected loss", Aaron said. He wrote: 'Lee leaves behind his Son, Dad, Partner , Brothers, Sisters, Nephews and Niece. Lee was a loving family man who was a role model to his son Harry and was loved so much by all his family. My cousin Lee tragically passed away this weekend after no doubt having the time of his life at the Oasis concert this weekend, most will have seen snippets in the news I'm sure & as you can imagine it has devastated the whole family and for his closest knit family unit it's the toughest time they are going through ever right now. "Sharing his go fund me page, in the hope that any donations, big or small, will go a long way towards helping his partner Amanda & the boys throughout this awful period and costs of things. You just don't fathom you will go out for a night of amazing fun & not come home at the end of it." After the news emerged, Oasis said they were 'shocked and saddened' to hear of the death during their sell-out Wembley show at the weekend. The band said in a statement: 'We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of a fan at the show last night. Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved.'
