Tracy Morgan to star in new NBC comedy pilot
Tracy Morgan will star in a new NBC comedy pilot as a disgraced former football player attempting to rebuild his reputation.
The series, which is in development, comes from 30 Rock veterans Tina Fey, Robert Carlock, and Sam Means. Carlock and Means are writing the pilot, with Rhys Thomas directing and serving as an executive producer. The project is produced by Universal Television, Little Stranger, Bevel Gears, and 3 Arts. No other cast members have been announced at this time.
Should the pilot be picked up, the show will air on NBC. Morgan's involvement in the project comes shortly after his announcement to star in the Paramount+ spinoff of CBS' The Neighborhood, titled Crutch. In this series, Morgan will play the cousin of Cedric the Entertainer's character, Calvin Butler. His deal allows him to star in both shows simultaneously.
Morgan is best known for his role as Tracy Jordan on 30 Rock, which aired from 2006 to 2013. He earned an Emmy nomination for his portrayal of the unpredictable star of the fictional NBC sketch comedy show 'TGS.' Before his 30 Rock fame, Morgan spent seven years on Saturday Night Live, creating memorable characters like Astronaut Jones and Brian Fellows. Morgan's other credits include The Last OG, Crank Yankers, and stand-up specials such as Takin' It Too Far and Bona Fide.

Voices from the Roof of the World
An internationally acclaimed documentary series titled Voices from the Roof of the World, which highlights the human side of the climate crisis and presents it as a source of catastrophic suffering, is being brought to television screens. The production has been sponsored by the Aga Khan University, Aga Khan Agency for Habitat, Aga Khan Foundation, and the University of Central Asia and will be telecast by the Express Media Group. The documentary has been honoured with many international awards, including at the International Nature and Environmental Protection Film Festival held in Hungary, in 2023. The project seeks to highlight the human side of the climate-crisis, presenting it as a source of catastrophic suffering instead of what it has long been misunderstood and presented as an "issue" to be addressed down the road. This series breaks with the conventional depiction of climate change by focusing on its day-to-day reality for ordinary people. The roof for much of the Indian subcontinent and Central Asia are the mountain ranges of the Himalayas and the Hindu Kush. The central message of the documentary series states that roofs provide people with shelter and protect them from harm, adding that in the comfort of their homes they shelter individuals from the wrath of nature — rainfall, extreme heat and extreme cold. It further notes that roofs rely on pillars of support to hold them up, and if the burden on them increases beyond capacity and the pillars are damaged and weakened, the same roof would collapse and kill people. It's a production by an Emmy award winning producer Andrew Tkach.

Chris Pratt reacts to the loss of 'Parks and Recreation' co-star Jonathan Joss: 'Damn. RIP Jonathan. Always a kind dude. He played Ken Hotate in Parks and was also in Mag 7. Sad to see. Prayers up. Hug your loved ones.' — Pop Crave (@PopCrave) June 3, 2025 Joss was also widely recognized for voicing John Redcorn on the long-running animated series King of the Hill. In addition to their work on Parks and Recreation, Pratt and Joss appeared together in the 2016 film The Magnificent Seven, where Joss played an exiled Comanche warrior and Pratt was one of the titular Seven. Reacting to the news, Pratt shared a message on his Instagram Story: 'Damn. RIP Jonathan. Always such a kind dude. He played Ken Hotate in Parks and was also in Mag 7. Sad to see. Prayers up. Hug your loved ones.' Nick Offerman, who played Ron Swanson on Parks and Recreation, also reflected on the loss, telling People magazine: 'The cast has been texting together about it all day and we're just heartbroken. Jonathan was such a sweet guy and we loved having him as our Chief Ken Hotate. A terrible tragedy.' Joss's husband, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, claimed in a Facebook post that the couple had been subjected to ongoing homophobic harassment in their neighborhood, including threats and a house fire. He alleged they had received repeated warnings that their home would be set on fire. However, the San Antonio Police Department stated there is currently 'no evidence to indicate Mr. Joss' murder was related to his sexual orientation.' As the investigation continues, friends and colleagues are remembering Joss for his kindness and significant contributions to television and film.
