Giants nearly bottom out in ESPN's way-too-early 2025 power rankings
A 3-14 record has put them in prime position to amass another top rookie class and approximately $50 million in available cap space will go a long way in filling some glaring holes on the roster.
ESPN published their power rankings after the Super Bowl and the Giants were ranked 31st, ahead of only the Tennessee Titans.
Jordan Raanan added these comments about the upcoming offseason, outlining the team's top priority.
Describe this offseason in three words: Get a quarterback.
It's the Giants' No. 1 priority this offseason by a wide margin. They need to find a solution for both next season and the future. The draft, free agency, trade, everything is on the table, according to owner John Mara. Considering the plan all along was to get a quarterback in the draft if Daniel Jones didn't pan out, it's a good bet the Giants will land one of the draft's top options with the third overall pick.
It's no secret the Giants will be big players in the quarterback market this spring. They will explore every avenue to add both a veteran option for this year and a possible franchise player in the draft.
After a disastrous 2024 campaign that saw just about every move and decision they made go awry, there's only one way for this franchise to go from here.

Congratulations Pouring In For Patrick Mahomes On Monday
Congratulations Pouring In For Patrick Mahomes On Monday originally appeared on The Spun. Congratulations are pouring in for Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes on Monday. The 2024 NFL season was a tough one for Mahomes. He lost the NFL's MVP award to another quarterback, Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills. He lost the Super Bowl, 40-22, to Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles. And heading into the 2025 season, some believe that he's no longer the best quarterback in the league. Advertisement But on Monday, ESPN released its list of the 10 best quarterbacks in the league, heading into the 2025 regular season. Where does Patrick Mahomes come in? NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA - FEBRUARY 09: Patrick Mahomes #15 of the Kansas City Chiefs looks on during warmups prior to Super Bowl LIX against the Philadelphia Eagles at Caesars Superdome on February 09, 2025 in New Orleans, Louisiana. (Photo by)Mahomes has been ranked the No. 1 quarterback in the league, once again, by ESPN heading into the 2025 season. "Mahomes' grip on the top spot is loosening slightly. After dominating the voting with back-to-back No. 1 rankings in convincing fashion, Mahomes garnered around 60% of the first-place votes this year, which is still impressive but well short of last year, when he received all but one first-place vote," ESPN wrote. "He has finished eighth in QBR the past two years; from 2018 through 2022, he finished first or second four times. Rarely does Mahomes look as frazzled as he did vs. Philadelphia in Super Bowl LIV." Advertisement It's another major honor for Mahomes. "The national narrative about Mahomes has really shifted to where they are pretending the other top QBs are in his stratosphere 🤦🏽♂️. Whatever drives clicks and views, I guess," one fan wrote. "Mahomes gets the most calls, which is an advantage, still the gold standard for throwing off-platform," one fan added. "There's a clear and obvious Big Four in the NFL right now and I think you can defend putting the three outside of Mahomes (Allen, Jackson, Burrow) in any order. Dropping any of them outside 4—someone had Lamar at 6!—is silly, though," ESPN's Mina Kimes added. Where would you rank Mahomes heading into the 2025 NFL regular season? Ex NFL QB Reveals What Sets Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes Apart
Ex NFL QB Reveals What Sets Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes Apart originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Kansas City Chiefs are still one of the top teams in the AFC and NFL. Even after a disappointing loss in February that prevented the NFL's first "three-peat," Patrick Mahomes and Co. could come back stronger next year after offseason moves. Advertisement Former NFL quarterback and current analyst Dan Orlovsky recently offered his take on what makes Mahomes so different from the other top QBs in the league. "The gap has never been this ridiculously big gap when it comes to Patrick, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, and Joe Burrow," Orlovsky said. "All three of those guys had better seasons last year than Patrick did, yes. But there is the reality that Patrick, not once, not twice, but three or four times, has played his absolute best when it's been needed the most. Those other three guys haven't necessarily done that. And so, is Patrick the best at the position? "He's still the top dog when it comes to you got to go be your very best when it's needed the most. When it comes to the ability to play, those guys have always been kind of nipping at his heels." Mahomes was recently tabbed as the league's top quarterback by ESPN's Field Yates in his annual rankings, although he did note that the former Texas Tech Red Raiders' signal caller's "grip is loosening slightly." Advertisement "Mahomes' grip on the top spot is loosening slightly. After dominating the voting with back-to-back No. 1 rankings in convincing fashion, Mahomes garnered around 60% of the first-place votes this year, which is still impressive but well short of last year, when he received all but one first-place vote," Yates wrote. "He has finished eighth in QBR the past two years; from 2018 through 2022, he finished first or second four times. Rarely does Mahomes look as frazzled as he did vs. Philadelphia in Super Bowl LIV."
