Buccaneers' Tight End Missing From Elite List
While some Tampa Bay Buccaneers players are finally starting to garner some national attention, others are not.
This offseason, we've seen the likes of Mike Evans, Bucky Irving, Tristan Wirfs, Baker Mayfield, Antoine Winfield Jr. and Jamel Dean honored on "best of" lists representing Tampa Bay.

But as we peruse ESPN's top 10 tight ends in the NFL ahead of the 2025 season, there's no Bucs player to be found - no Cade Otton.
Is that deserved? Maybe.
Otton is good. He's good for the Bucs. But is he elite? Certainly an argument could be made that he's not. Especially with his history of drops.
Otton was a fourth-round pick by the Bucs in 2022 out of then-Pac-12 powerhouse Washington. He had an impressive rookie campaign with 391 yards and two touchdowns, but suffered from drops. He posted just 42 catches on 65 targets with five drops, leading all tight ends.
The next season wasn't much better, with three drops on 67 targets, and he got worse last season. In 2024, Otton posted 59 catches on 87 targets with 600 yards and four touchdowns but eight drops.

If Otton can clean up his pass catching, he'd be a far more effective offensive tool for Mayfield and the Bucs.
In ProFootballFocus' rankings earlier this season, Otton was No. 20 overall, which actually sounds a little high, honestly.
"Otton's Achilles' heel is drops. He has the third most (11) at the position across the past two years. His 63.1 PFF receiving grade in 2024 was a career high and also marks the first time he generated more than 1 yard per route run (1.31). If he can hang on to the ball (also three fumbles the past two years), Otton has the skills to rise on this list."

NFL uniform rankings: How do the New York Giants stack up?
The NFL has updated its policies on uniforms, relaxing some of the previous policies and allowing teams to use alternate uniforms or throwback uniforms up to four times this season. Previously, teams were only permitted to use varying uniforms three times per season. They've also loosened the rule on combining alternate helmets with classic uniforms, something that hasn't been allowed in the past. In 2025, the NFL and Nike collaborated on new "Rivalries" uniforms and gear. This year, the AFC East and NFC West will sport the new design, with more teams being added each year until 2028. The uniforms are said to resemble the NBA's "City Edition" and MLB's "City Connect" jerseys, although the actual design has not been released. With these updated rules, USA TODAY's Nate Davis analyzed each team's "closet" of possible uniforms and ranked them accordingly. The New York Giants dropped in this ranking and now sit inside the bottom 10, meaning their uniforms are "meh." Previous rank: 19Current rank: 23 Thankfully their 100th season is over … and we won't have to see those ancient throwbacks featuring Montreal Canadiens jerseys paired with khaki-colored pants, which they wore (just once) last season. Their 1980s retro uniform remains their best look, and the bland red-and-white roadies (which inexplicably lack any blue notes) remain problematic. As of right now, the Giants have no plans to unveil a new uniform combination in 2025 and will continue with the standard blue home jersey with white accents and the white away jerseys with red accents. Despite calls for a refreshed look, the Giants will continue with the same uniforms adopted in 2000. They'll sprinkle in some alternates in 2025, and there are already plans for a game showcasing the 1980s throwbacks worn in 2023, and they have four games to use alternates.

Adam Schefter's latest on Bengals, Shemar Stewart isn't positive
Cincinnati Bengals first-round pick Shemar Stewart remains a focal point ahead of training camp. Stewart's contract saga with the Bengals took center stage on a recent radio show, with NFL insider Adam Schefter giving his take on the whole ordeal. Shefter, appearing on the 'Rothman and Ice Show' this week, wondered if the Bengals will have to throw in the proverbial towel on topic. 'I think he's dug in on the language', Schefter said. 'He doesn't want to be the first one and be made an example of. The Bengals haven't had this language before. Other teams have had it, but the Bengals haven't, and he doesn't want to be the guy. He seems unwilling to budge'. RELATED: Cincinnati Bengals' 53-man roster projection following 2025 offseason The Bengals were strange to choose this year as the time to attempt a reset of language precedent in their contracts relating to the voiding of guarantees. For his part, Stewart took a bold stance of his own in electing not to sign injury waivers and at least practice with his teammates while still unsigned, a rarity for rookies. A smart decision or not by the Bengals, both parties benefit if Stewart is actually on the field and developing. But whether that means one party blinks or they come to an agreeable compromise remains to be seen. RELATED: Joe Burrow feelings on Trey Hendrickson contract standoff revealed
