Aamir Khan shares why nephew Imran Khan struggled to fit into Bollywood
Actor Aamir Khan, who is gearing up for the release of 'Sitaare Zameen Par', has shared why his nephew Imran Khan didn't fit in Bollywood. Imran, who gained critical acclaim and love for films like 'Delhi Belly' and 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na', left Bollywood 10 years ago.In an interview with Indian Express, Aamir Khan said that Imran was offered mainstream films, but he found it difficult to fit in as he is not comfortable with herogiri. He further expressed that Imran wants to be an actor and not a star.advertisement"Yes, Imran has a certain creative instinct. He finds it difficult to fit into the mainstream construct we have. That's not his natural space. Which is why he'd do really well in a film like Jaane Tu and Delhi Belly. He's in his element there. But the moment you put him in a regular Hindi film, he won't fit. He's not comfortable with herogiri. He wants to play a real person. Everybody was offering him mainstream films because he's good-looking. But he wants to be an actor and not a star," Aamir said.
Although Imran had quit films, he is reportedly making a comeback with 'Adhure Hum Adhure Tum' opposite Bhumi Pednekar. The film is slated for a Netflix release. It is being directed by Danish Aslam, who has also directed the Imran Khan-starrer 'Break Ke Baad' opposite Deepika Padukone.advertisementImran had earlier opened up in an interview in Film Companion that his decision to step away from the Hindi film industry was not an abrupt but a gradual decision. Imran also expressed that he could not relate with the industry's focus on box office success and financial gains. Meanwhile, Aamir Khan's 'Sitaare Zameen Par' is slated for a theatrical release on June 20, 2025. An official remake of the Spanish film 'Champions', the film also stars Genelia Deshmukh in a prominent role.Must Watch

Ektaa Kapoor slams Anurag Kashyap as 'so dumb' after his rant against Netflix and ‘saas-bahu' shows
Ektaa Kapoor slams Sacred Games director Ektaa Kapoor and Netflix In a clash that has stirred up Bollywood's OTT circles, two creative giants, Anurag Kashyap and Ektaa R Kapoor, have found themselves at ideological loggerheads over the future of Indian streaming content . What began as a sharp comment by Kashyap on Netflix 's evolving strategy has now snowballed into a larger debate about elitism, populism, and the cultural legacy of 'saas-bahu' television dramas. The Sacred Games director's biting remarks about Netflix's co-CEO Ted Sarandos and his jab at mainstream Indian content have prompted a fiery response from Kapoor, who defended mass entertainment with passion and a few pointed words of her storm was triggered when Kashyap reposted a headline quoting Ted Sarandos, who, in a conversation with Zerodha's Nikhil Kamath, suggested that Sacred Games 'perhaps shouldn't have been Netflix's first Indian original.' Sarandos implied that a more populist show might have served the platform's debut in India better. Kashyap, clearly unimpressed, responded with scathing sarcasm. 'He should have started with Saas-Bahu, he would have done well,' he posted on Instagram. The director then launched a more direct attack on Sarandos, calling "tech guys" "dumb" in the area of pointed remarks didn't go unchallenged. Ektaa R Kapoor, often hailed as the queen of Indian television and a strong voice in the streaming industry, responded firmly without naming Kashyap criticised Kashyap's remarks, suggesting that his tone appeared self-congratulatory and condescending, as if trying to assert intellectual superiority. She highlighted the cultural significance of 'saas-bahu' serials, pointing to a well-regarded study from Chicago that recognized their role in empowering women through mainstream Indian media. She also accused artists like Kashyap of being classist in their attitudes, despite often advocating for inclusivity in their storytelling. Her message was not just a rebuttal but a reflection on the broader dynamics of creative hierarchy in India's entertainment industry. 'We must do away with this 'you can't sit with us, we are better' attitude for democracy and fair play!' she wrote, ending her post with a note of peace: 'Love and light to all.'Interestingly, Kapoor's rebuke comes just days after Netflix announced a new creative collaboration with her production house, Balaji Telefilms, on the occasion of her birthday. 'Netflix and Ektaa Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms come together in a creative collaboration to craft compelling stories across formats,' the platform posted on June 7. Kapoor also called it her 'best gift ever.'

Sunita Ahuja Blames Govinda's "Wrong Circle" For Career Downfall
New Delhi: Being a '90s icon is no small deal. But staying one in 2025? That's a different ballgame. And if there is one person who has been saying it like it is – without filters – it is Govinda's wife, Sunita Ahuja. In a candid chat with The Powerful Humans, Sunita did not hold back while addressing why the Hero No.1 star has been MIA from the big screen for so long. And let us just say, the blame did not fall on the star or bad luck. It fell right on the people in his corner. 'Why hasn't Govinda been seen on the big screen for the past 17 years?' she questioned, before answering it herself. 'Because the circle around him is completely wrong. Sab wah-wah karne waale log hain.' According to Sunita Ahuja, these are not the kind of voices that help an artist evolve. In fact, she admitted that these people have even sparked fights between her and Govinda. ' Mera aur Govinda ka jhagda bhi hojaata hai kyunki main naa jhooth nahi bol sakti aur chaplusi nahi kar sakti [Govinda and I also end up having arguments because I just can't lie or flatter anyone]," she said. Sunita painted a pretty clear picture of the people surrounding him – a writer, a secretary and a friend-like lawyer — all of whom she believes are doing more harm than good. ' Wah Chi Chi bhaiya kya kamaal kardia [Wow, Chi Chi Bhaiya, what an amazing job you have done],' she mocked their sycophantic praise. ' Abey tu sach toh bol. Hum sach bolte hain to chidhta hai voh [Oh come on, be honest. When I speak the truth, he gets irritated]," she added. As per Sunita, it is not just Govinda's company that has her worried. It is his mindset. Govinda's wife, who now lives with the actor in the US, also shared that she has been pushing him to evolve with the times. Her advice? 'I told him, the 90s are over. It's 2025 now. Look at what's working today – Netflix and OTT platforms," Sunita revealed. Sunita also addressed a key myth that seems to have built up around Govinda over the years – that solo-hero films are his forte. But she called out this idea too. 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan wasn't a solo-hero film. Aankhen wasn't either. The people around him planted this myth in his head: 'Sir, you're Hero No.1—your film will definitely work!' But where do solo-hero films work today?" she asked. Sunita stated that what Govinda needs now is not more flattery, but solid scripts, a great director and a team that is not afraid to tell him the truth. Govinda and Sunita Ahuja got married in March 1987. The couple are proud parents to a daughter, Tina, and a son, Yashvardhan. Govinda was last seen in Rangeela Raja, a 2019 comedy film. The film had him in a double role and was directed by Sikander Bharti.
