Jordon Smith set to return in Seattle Supercross
Smith was injured in a crash in the Arlington, Texas, Triple Crown race when he crashed in the whoops, breaking four ribs, puncturing a lung, and suffering a laceration to his spleen.
The calendar worked in his favor. Since the series left Arlington four rounds ago, the 250 East riders have hosted two standalone rounds. There has also been an off-week in the schedule, which means Smith missed only the East / West Showdown in Indianapolis, Indiana.
'We are back,' Smith posted on social media. 'Been working hard to get healed and back to race shape in the past 4 weeks. Thanks to all the doctors that had a part in helping me get back on the track, and my whole crew back at home with a special thanks to [Katie Smith] for taking care of Blair and [me]! See you guys in Seattle!'
Smith began the season strong with back-to-back podiums in Anaheim 1 and San Diego. He finished fourth in Anaheim 2 and gave Triumph its first victory in his fourth race with the team. Finishing last in the Arlington Triple Crown and missing one round dropped Smith to fifth in the championship standings, 44 points behind leader Haiden Deegan.

Chiefs scouting report: Alabama Crimson Tide DT James Smith
Last year, Chris Jones signed a contract extension and earned his third consecutive First Team All-Pro selection. All signs point toward the 31-year-old maintaining his dominance for the foreseeable future. However, the Kansas City Chiefs should keep their eyes on the 2026 NFL draft and the next generation of defensive tackles. Alabama Crimson Tide defensive tackle James Smith saw his first meaningful action last season. With fewer than 400 career defensive snaps under his belt, Smith is an explosive and slightly undersized developmental lineman with the athletic traits to make a splash in the coming years. Smith is unofficially listed at 6'3", 296 lbs. He possesses a natural leverage advantage and makes up for his lack of mass by exploding off the line to shoot through gaps. Smith fits the classic penetrating 3-tech role. He displays impressive agility and burst when quickly exchanging gaps at the snap and on stunts. Smith's power is still inconsistent but takes over some plays with a two-armed bull rush that walks guards or centers into the pocket. His hands lack pop, but his arm extensions pry up the lineman's pad level and create some immediate displacement. Smith lacks elite arm length but compensates with good strike placement. Smith's pass rush plan includes clubs, converting speed to power, push-pulls, rips and spins. His club-swim is his best pass rush move. It generates some instantaneous wins and early pressures, especially against centers. Smith's hands are active but lack refinement. He needs to play with better control and timing to maximize his athletic traits. Smith's lack of mass and attacking mentality create a mixed bag of results in run defense. He runs himself out of some plays and doesn't have the hand counters to consistently separate in a timely manner. Smith struggles to hold the point of attack against double teams but uses the knee-drop technique to maintain his positioning and clog run lanes. Smith's athleticism and terrific motor show up when he finds himself isolated with a guard in the run game. He appears much more patient and in control when facing linemen one-on-one, allowing him to stack and peak blocks before redirecting to the football. The long-awaited meetup between the San Francisco Giants and New York Giants has finally happened. Back in 2015, "Dan in Warwick" called legendary New York sports radio host Mike Francesa and asked him if "there had ever been a franchise-to-franchise … get-together" between the MLB and NFL teams, since they had the same name and the MLB team used to play in New York. Francesa was absolutely flabbergasted, saying, "That might be the weirdest question in a long time." He then joked that the "Giant picnic" is in Totowa during a weekend together, and the New York and Texas Rangers have similar gatherings in Albeliene. "[Henrik] Lundqvist is particularly close with Yu Darvish," Francesa joked. "There's a kinship there between the two of them." It has gone down as one of the greatest phone calls in radio show history, and it's been a hot topic in the tri-state with the MLB's Giants in New York this weekend to take on the Mets. Well, "Dan in Warick's" wishes have finally been granted. In a video posted on X, Francesa is seen walking through a hall before entering a door. Spotted in the room are New York's Eli Manning and Shaun O'Hara, and San Francisco's Logan Webb and Matt Chapman at the "Giants Giants Annual Meeting" (probably in Totowa). "They really do get together!" Francesa says, before exiting the room. The MLB team posted, "Our turn to host next year." Francesa fell victim to many prank calls in his later years, including if the Mets could go 162-0 after an Opening Day victory, how Mickey Mantle could win the Triple Crown if he was not a horse, that the Mets should call up "Game of Thrones" characters Jon Snow and Tyrion Lannister (which he thought was a bad idea), and, well, whatever this is. Francesa retired briefly in 2017 but returned a few months later, but went back off the radio airwaves full-time in 2019 and later started a podcast.
