Oasis 'drops inappropriate song from reunion tour setlist' after link to disgraced pop star
Brothers Noel Gallagher, 57, and Liam Gallagher, 52, are said to have cut the song Hello - the opening track from their iconic 1995 album - because it includes lyrics from Gary's 1973 hit Hello, I'm Back Again.
The track features Liam repeating the line: 'Hello, hello, it's good to be back, it's good to be back' in the outro, with the melody of Gary's original playing subtly underneath.
Due to the sample, the disgraced star and his producer Mike Leander were credited as co-writers on the track alongside Noel, who wrote the rest of the album's songs.
A source told The Sun: 'The lyrics of the song would obviously have been a good fit for the reunion tour but the band have decided to leave it in the past.
'It would be inappropriate to play it given its connotations to Glitter and his convictions.'
MailOnline has contacted representatives for Oasis for comment.
Glitter, real name Paul Gadd, was jailed for 16 years in 2015 for sexually abusing three schoolgirls.
He was then released in 2023 but returned to prison just weeks later after breaching his parole conditions.
The predator has already resigned to dying behind bars after the Parole Board blocked his release in February 2024, ruling that he is still a risk to the public.
A source previously said: 'He still blames everyone for his situation, rather than accepting it's his fault.'
'Glitter is really down and moaning about his situation,' they told the Sun. 'He has said ''I'm going to die in jail now,'' and is resigned to it.
'He would be almost 87 by the time his sentence ends and knows the effect being inside can have on your health.'
The song's removal follows a major Oasis tour decision by Noel and Liam - one that hints the brothers still haven't fully buried the hatchet.
Oasis sensationally split in 2009 after a backstage bust-up - devastating their loyal fan base.
In the 14 years that have followed, a feud and bitter fighting has ensued with the brothers trading insults back and forth in interviews and social media.
But this year, the pair are reuniting for a huge world tour, and have dates booked across the UK, America, South America and Asia in 2025.
Despite the highly-anticipated reunion, it appears the Liam and Noel haven't put all of their differences behind them.
A source, who has a guest list ticket for one of the shows in Heaton Park, claimed they will be spending time separately following the shows.
They told The Sun: 'You might be seeing Oasis on stage but you will not be seeing Liam and Noel together afterwards.
'Each of them had a VIP list where their friends and famous fans could buy their tickets.
'But depending on which brother you got your ticket off, it's their green room and after-party you're invited to.
'It's gutting for people who want to hang out with both of them but it seems they're keeping it all at a distance.'
Despite the separate parties, the duo seem to be working well together, with Liam telling his fans he's loved working with Noel again.
And Noel feels the same, saying of his sibling: 'He's alright, he's on tip-top form.'

The Oasis Live 25 tour kicks off on 4 July at Cardiff's Principality Stadium before playing sell-out gigs at Manchester's Heaton Park, Wembley Stadium in London, and Edinburgh's Murrayfield stadium.
The Brit pop band will then head over to America, South America and Asia in 2025.

Members took to the stage for three performances at the busy arts festival Songbirds from Hamilton Rock Choir joined the throng of performers taking part in this year's Edinburgh fesrival fringe – and even enjoyed an unexpected encore as they took to the stage on the same night as Oasis rocked nearby Murrayfield. More than 70 members of the busy Hamilton group took to the stage at three different shows in the capital, including a sold-out performance at the Space Triplex venue, where they showcased their vocal talents by sharing a wide selection of their repertoire with appreciative audiences. They also had the perfect song to serenade their bus driver en route home after a standout show, becoming rock 'n' roll stars as they celebrated their successful appearances with a rendition of Roll With It. Members of the Hamilton group featured in popular performances entertaining crowds outside landmark Edinburgh restaurant The Dome, at the busy Brewhemia venue and on stage at Space Triplex, which is Rock Choir's main concert venue throughout the festival. Led by choir conductor Jen Bonnar, they joined forces with members of her other groups based in Greenock, Helensburgh, Houston and Paisley to delight listeners with a 45-minute set featuring 10 of their favourite songs – Sweet Child of Mine, Unwritten, Learn to Fly, Two Hearts, Flashdance, I Don't Want to Miss a Thing, Haven't Met You Yet, Don't Stop Me Now, Roll With it and Call Me. The local singers were among 40 Rock Choirs from across the UK who performed in turn across 23 nights at the festival, receiving an 'overwhelming reaction' from audiences. Choir leader Jen praised her singers and told how they enjoyed their 'own little rock 'n' roll moment', saying: 'I couldn't be prouder of my choirs performing at three different venues at the Edinburgh fringe including a sold-out show, drawing huge crowds and soaking up the city's electric atmosphere. 'Our Fringe adventure ended with an unexpected encore! On the coach home, our driver casually mentioned he was a huge Oasis fan – so the whole choir burst into Roll With It just for him. 'He was grinning from ear to ear, filming the moment on his phone like it was his own private gig; it was the perfect end to an incredible day.' Members 'returned home on a high' from their Edinburgh shows, with many taking part in their first major event and delivering 'confident, uplifting' performances of the Rock Choir repertoire of pop, rock and contemporary songs. The latest batch of episodes for the BBC programme, which was revived in 2024 with father-and-son duo Bradley and Barney Walsh at the helm, is currently in production but things have not gone entirely to plan. Legend, Bionic, Diamond and Athena are the four stars of the series that have been landed with injuries. Legend, whose real name is Matt Morsia, tore a bicep, whilst Matty Campbell, who is better known to fans as Bionic, has dislocated his shoulder. Livi Sheldon, whose Gladiators alter-ego is Diamond, ruptured the ACL and MCL in her knee. As well as all that, Athena, whose real name is Karenjeet Kaur Bains, smashed her knee. Speaking about the incidents, a source told The Sun: "Gladiators is the ultimate test of speed, strength and endurance - and four of its champions have paid the price. It just goes to show that these games are tough and even our professionals can suffer injuries!" It comes as ITV axes Noel Edmonds' big TV comeback after just one series. But despite the individual ordeals, it has been claimed that all the stars will feature when the show goes to air later this year, and they will also all be taking part in the live tour when that hits the road this autumn. But this is not the first time that the stars have suffered such injuries, as fans will remember that Comet, real name Ella-Mae Rayner, broke her ankle and had to undergo an operation to rebuild her foot. What's more, Sheli McCoy, better known as Sabre, tore her hamstring during production, and at the time noted to Metro that the 'competitive' nature of her job meant that nothing on set 'came without risk.' However, a spokesperson for the BBC previously insised that health and safety is taken seriously on the set as they said: "The health and well-being of all Gladiators, contenders and crew is of paramount importance. Gladiators is one of the toughest and most physically demanding programmes on TV and due to the high-impact nature of the show it is not unusual for those competing to suffer injuries. "In each instance, as soon as it became apparent that a potential injury had occurred, the correct protocol was immediately followed. "The injured Gladiators are currently following medical advice and working on their recoveries.' This is the second time Gladiators has been revived on television since starting life in the 1990s, and, Athena, Bionic, Comet, Cyclone, Diamond, Dynamite, Electro, Fire, Fury, Giant, Hammer, Legend, Nitro, Phantom, Sabre, Steel, and Viper will be back on screen in 2026. The BBC's version of the hit became the most watched Saturday night series on BBC iPlayer and the third most watched Entertainment series overall. The show averaged 5.3m viewers, with nearly two fifths streaming on demand. The revival of the show has also capture younger viewers with 1.3 million tuning in for each episode, accounting for nearly a quarter of the show's overall audience. Speaking on the news, Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC says: 'Audiences have loved getting together to watch our mighty Gladiators take on contenders from all across the UK with younger fans especially excited to cheer on their Saturday night superheroes. "With this brand-new series and another Celebrity Special confirmed there will be even more epic battles, more high-octane action and of course even more foam fingers than ever before for everyone to look forward to!" Before the next series hits screens, fans will be able to catch Nitro competing in the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing, and he will be putting his footwork to the test for judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke. Also known as Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, he appeared in last year's Christmas edition of the programme. Upon his casting for the main competition, he said: "After the Christmas Special, it was so nice I just had to do it twice! 'But this year they've assembled four celebrities who can give the Gladiators a serious run for their money, and serve up a clash to savour. The first series of Celebrity Gladiators saw Joel Dommett and Ellie Taylor crowned the winners after a tense finale.
