Amit Shah launches camp for BJP leaders from M.P.; Rajnath Singh, B.L. Santhosh, Shivraj Chouhan to address sessions
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday inaugurated a three-day training programme for party leaders, including Ministers, MPs and MLAs, from Madhya Pradesh. The training camp, being held in Pachmarhi in Narmadapuram district, was announced in the wake of controversial statements by party leaders, including derogatory remarks by State Minister Vijay Shah against Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, who briefed the media during Operation Sindoor, which drew widespread criticism and the wrath of the Supreme Court. Apart from him, Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda and MLA Narendra Prajapati's remarks about Operation Sindoor and the armed forces had drawn criticism from the Opposition, putting the ruling party on the defensive. The Union Home Minister delivered the inaugural address. 'While Amit Shahji did not specifically talk about any particular leader or issue, he said anyone could make mistakes, but it is important not to repeat those,' an MLA from Bhopal, who is at the camp, told The Hindu. Even as party leaders have termed the three-day event a 'routine programme', sources said the camp is aimed at training leaders in public communication, discipline, and discussing sensitive issues. MPs and MLAs from Madhya Pradesh will remain in Pachmarhi till June 16. Several leaders, including national general secretary (organisation) B.L. Santhosh, joint general secretary (organisation) Shiv Prakash, and Union Minister and former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, are scheduled to address various sessions. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will address the programme on the last day. A State Minister, who is attending the camp, said the event will also include sessions on the 'history and growth of the BJP' and on its government in the State, from the tenure of former CM Uma Bharti to that of the current CM, Mohan Yadav. 'Discipline, restraint' 'The focus is on discipline and restraint while speaking in public. In the age of social media, anything you say spreads so fast that it becomes a controversy before you get a chance to clarify. So, the main lesson from this event will be to think before you speak because what you say becomes the party's statement in the media and among the masses,' the Minister said. State BJP spokesperson Pankaj Chaturvedi said that such training camps are part of the party's policy. 'The party keeps organising programmes like these for all types of workers, from elected representatives to ground workers, as training and discipline are part of the BJP's policy. This particular event is a high-level programme for elected representatives and senior leaders. A similar event was organised in Ujjain before the 2023 Assembly election,' Mr. Chaturvedi said. He added that the event's agenda is 'much wider' than is being reported by the media. 'The media is only talking about one thing: communication training. It's not just about that. The event focuses on the future needs and emerging situations in politics and how to adapt to those,' he said. Digvijay takes a dig Meanwhile, senior Congress leader and former CM Digvijaya Singh took a dig at the three-day training event, saying that the ruling party leaders are 'being trained in how to commit corruption'. Mr. Chaturvedi hit back, saying that the grand old party 'will not be able to comprehend such programmes as it lacks the culture of discipline and training'.

Newly formed IVP removes councillor over cross-voting
New Delhi: Following BJP 's move to remove a councillor for "anti-party activities", Indraprastha Vikas Party (IVP) also took a similar action against one of its members. The party announced on Friday that Ashok Pandey, a councillor representing Vikas Nagar ward, was removed from the party for six years due to cross-voting during the ward committee elections in Municipal Corporation of Delhi . IVP contested for the chairman's post in two zones, West and Rohini, but lost in both. It even had a majority in Rohini zone with BJP's support. Sources said Pandey, who contested for the chairman's seat in West zone, did not vote for himself. Party functionary Hemchand Goyal indicated in a statement that its councillors were working to resume development projects halted in various wards. He emphasised that the party would not accept any action by any member or municipal councillor that interferes with these development initiatives. "This decision was taken unanimously in a meeting after it was confirmed that Pandey was working against the policies of the party in the past few days. The policies of our party are clear that if any other party talks about any scheme for the welfare of the people of Delhi and development of Delhi, we will support it," Goyal pointed out. "In the last two and a half years, the condition of works related to MCD had deteriorated. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like USDJPY đang đi lên không? Calling himself the victim of a conspiracy, Pandey, who was among the 15 municipal councillors who resigned from AAP to form IVP on May 17, said, "Never ever in the history has it happened that a candidate contesting an election has voted against himself or herself. All allegations of anti-party activities are wrong and I have been framed." Pandey claimed that after the zonal elections, he himself had expressed his doubt about cross-voting by some other councillor to senior party functionaries, including president Mukesh Goel. "However, instead of going into details, they targeted me and expelled me from the party wrongfully. I have not decided my next move." On June 9, BJP expelled Suman Tinku Rajora, a councillor from Mangolpuri-B, for six years over alleged anti-party activities during a vote in Rohini zone on June 2. Abitkar attributes delay in loan waiver to Ladki Bahin scheme; no mention in BJP's poll manifesto, says Save
Kolhapur/Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Two ministers on Saturday made contradictory claims on the possibility of a farm loan waiver in Maharashtra as Mahayuti govt is reeling under pressure from politicians like Prahar Janshakti Party president Bachchu Kadu and Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana chief Raju Shetti. Health minister Prakash Abitkar (Shiv Sena) said in Kolhapur that a delay in announcing a loan waiver was because of the financial constraints state is facing on account of Ladki Bahin scheme. "Govt is not deliberately delaying the loan waiver; it is getting delayed," Abitkar, who is also Kolhapur's district guardian minister, said at a gathering of Mahayuti functionaries to discuss the allocation of district planning and development council funds. "Then Ajit Pawar said he was not the one who made the promise. Therefore, we are doubtful about the intentions of govt. As per the assurance to Kadu, a committee to study his demand on farm loan waiver will be set up in 15 days. We demand that the panel be given a timeline to submit its report. " Animal husbandry and dairy development minister Atul Save, however, said BJP's poll manifesto never promised a loan waiver to farmers. "You may check it for yourself. The promises made are being implemented in a phased manner based on priority," the BJP politician said at a press conference in Hingoli. He visited the district as part of an outreach campaign to mark 11 years of the Narendra Modi-led govt at Centre. Reacting to the statement, the legislative council's leader of opposition, Ambadas Danve, said that the power has gone to the head of BJP and its leadership. "The farmers will show them their place," he said. Following Kadu's withdrawal from the hunger strike in Amravati district on Saturday, Shetti announced cancellation of his planned chakka jam (road blockade) across Maharashtra on June 15, which was intended to advocate for a loan waiver.
