Dipshikkha Nagppal Says Shah Rukh Khan Was 'Rude' To Her On Koyla Sets: 'It Hurt My Ego'

News18a day ago

For many who grew up watching Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Shah Rukh Khan wasn't just a movie star — he was the ultimate romantic hero. Actor Dipshikkha Nagppal was no different. She recently opened up about her experience of working with SRK for the first time, and how his behaviour on set left her both hurt and determined.
Speaking to Instant Bollywood, Dipshikkha recalled that she was completely smitten by SRK's on-screen persona when she joined the cast of Rakesh Roshan's 1997 action film Koyla. 'When Shah Rukh came, he was smoking. So Rakesh ji came in and said, 'Do you know Dipshikkha?' He said, 'She is a fantastic actress.' Rakesh ji was very impressed with me. Shah Rukh said, 'Yeah, let's see.' It hurt my ego. He was so rude. I was like, 'This is Shah Rukh. I love him.' Then I took it as a challenge."
She remembered how nervous she felt before filming her first scene with the superstar. 'My first scene was that I am dying in his arms. So I was nervous wondering how it will happen," she shared. Though the scene was eventually removed from the final cut, it stayed with her. 'I remember the scene. I can still smell his aura."
Despite the awkward start, Dipshikkha revealed that their professional relationship evolved positively over time. 'Ratan Jain (producer) told me after Baadshah that Shah Rukh recommended my name. Shah Rukh never revealed it. That's his greatness."
She noted that while they became friendly during future projects, she always remained focused on her work. 'Later, we became friends but I would only pay attention to my work. I would work with dedication and maybe, he noticed that but he recommended me for Baadshah. I didn't know that."
Reflecting on the turning point in her career, Dipshikkha said, 'I said, 'Thank you, Shah Rukh that you said let's see' because had he not said it, then maybe I wouldn't be in that film."
Dipshikkha, who has starred in films like Partner, Jaanam Samjha Karo, and Dillagi, was most recently seen in the legal drama web series Raisinghani VS Raisinghani and the TV show Ishq Jabariya. Her early experience with Shah Rukh Khan left a lasting impression—one that shaped her work ethic and determination in the industry.

Shah Rukh Khan Flaunts Salt-And-Pepper Look At Trainer's Wedding Reception

Last Updated: Shah Rukh Khan, known for usually avoiding the paparazzi and often using an umbrella to shield himself from cameras, ditched it this time. Shah Rukh Khan made a rare appearance on Thursday night as he attended the wedding reception of his longtime personal trainer, Prashant Sawant. Held at a swanky restaurant in Mumbai, the star-studded event saw several Bollywood celebrities in attendance, including Abhishek Bachchan, Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur and Sunny Singh. What caught everyone's attention, however, was Shah Rukh himself. The superstar, known for usually avoiding the paparazzi and often using an umbrella to shield himself from cameras, ditched it this time. He was seen flaunting his natural salt-and-pepper beard, looking effortlessly charming. Dressed in a plain black T-shirt and jeans, SRK kept his appearance understated but impactful. The actor is currently filming King, an action thriller directed by Siddharth Anand. A recent video showing a glimpse of his rugged look from the film had gone viral, sparking excitement among fans. His beard at the reception seems to align with his look for the upcoming project. Prashant Sawant, who has been training Shah Rukh for several years, has often spoken about the actor's incredible discipline and commitment to fitness. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, he shared, 'Unko pasina nahi aaya toh maza nahi aaya, so he likes to sweat… sweating is important for him, whether it's through sports or workouts." Sawant also opened up about managing SRK's fitness during injuries, saying, 'We fight to repair his body, and we work as a team… we make strategies and formulas. In the process, we've created 6-pack abs or even 8-pack abs for his films." As fans eagerly await his return to the big screen, Shah Rukh's appearance at the reception especially without his usual security measures offered an up-close look at his current transformation. Kajol doesn't want a sequel to DDLJ: ‘Do you really want to know whether they fought over diapers'

Actor Kajol isn't on board with the idea of a sequel to her iconic film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, joking that no one would be interested in seeing Raj and Simran's story continue, and watch them fight over diapers. Also read: Kajol praises Ajay Devgn, calls him a very 'hands-on producer' with Maa: 'We have made a very good film' During an interview with Pinkvilla, Kajol spoke about the sequel to Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, the 1995 film, which also starred Shah Rukh Khan. Kajol said, 'Each film has a certain amount of magic that it produces. I can't imagine DDLJ 2. Like train ke baad kya hua? Kisi ko pata bhi nahin karna hai. (No one wants to know what happens after the train leaves the station). Do you really want to know whether they fought over diapers or not? You don't want to know". She added, 'It's wonderful that it's left at the end. Train chali gayi (train left) THE END, brilliant. Now you can just leave it to imagination. They lived happily ever after". Kajol was also asked about the sequel to her hit film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai which also co-starred Shah Rukh Khan. She said it was a different era where people believed in eternal love, adding that recreating it would be difficult in today's times. DDLJ follows two non-resident Indians, Raj and Simran, and their star-crossed love story across Europe and India, beginning on a train from King's Cross Station. The location couldn't be more fitting, with Leicester Square featuring in DDLJ in a scene when Raj and Simran first cross paths, unknown to one another, before setting off on their memorable European adventure. Directed by Aditya Chopra, the film featured Amrish Puri, Anupam Kher, Farida Jalal and Mandira Bedi in important roles. The film was a huge success at the box office. Kajol will next be seen in the movie Maa. Helmed by Vishal Furia, the horror film is produced under the banner of Devgn Films. Starring Kajol in the lead role, the film also features Ronit Roy, Indranil Sengupta, and Kherin Sharma in key roles. The film follows the story of a mother's determination to protect her daughter from the demonic curses of a haunted village. It is scheduled to release in theatres on June 27.

Soundarya Sharma reveals what Akshay Kumar taught her on Housefull 5 set: ‘Chhota kaam ho, bada kaam ho…'

Actor Soundarya Sharma, who rose to fame as a contestant on Bigg Boss 16 in 2022, is currently the talk of the town thanks to her performance in the recently released film Housefull 5. Despite being in a multi-starrer which features big names from the industry such as Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez among others, Soundarya managed to have her own spotlight, emerging as a true internet sensation after the film arrived in theatres a week ago. Well, Soundarya has now revealed a lesson her co-star and Bollywood's Khiladi Akshay taught her on set. A post shared by Soundarya Sharma (@iamsoundaryasharma) In a chat with Instant Bollywood, when asked what she would like to remember from the sets of Housefull 5, Soundarya Sharma revealed, 'You know, Akshay sir has always told me that keep working hard. Chhota kaam ho, bada kaam ho, kaam se kaam aata hai. Toh jabhi bhi hum scene shoot kar rahe hote the, aur main sochti thi 'achha, main kab bolungi, kab aayega'. Aage kaam ke discussions hote the, toh humesha unhone bola hai ki mera yahi funda raha hai, kaam se kaam aayega.' Wise words indeed! A post shared by Instant Bollywood (@instantbollywood) Soundarya also gave a shout out to Jacqueline Fernandez. The two raised the temperatures with their belly dance moves and hotness when they burnt the dance floor in Housefull 5's chartbuster hit song Laal Pari. Soundarya shared, 'Jacqueline (Fernandez) also said, the other day in the trailer launch 'there is so much to learn from you' and I'm like how sweet of her to say, because I'm learning from everybody, everybody so senior to me.' For those who have not seen the film yet, Housefull 5 follows the story of three men named Jolly, who come together on a cruise with their wives claiming that they are the sole heirs of a rich man who died of a heart attack.
