Whether you're a seasoned numismatist or just have a jar of change, rare coins could potentially make you a fortune.
Recently, coin enthusiasts were buzzing over a scarce 50p piece, with only 200,000 in circulation, that's worth more than its face value.
Now, the @CoinCollectingWizard, who has amassed an impressive following of 30,100 on Instagram, has debunked a myth about a 1971 penny believed to be worth a whopping £5million.
In a comprehensive post, he warned collectors against misinformation suggesting this penny could hold a life-changing value.
He stated: "1971 penny worth £5million!". You've probably seen the viral posts claiming that a 1971 1p coin is worth £5 million... but let's get one thing straight:".
"It's NOT true. It's NOT rare. It's NOT valuable.", reports the Mirror.
The coin enthusiast explained that around a million of these coins were minted as it was the first year of decimalisation in the UK. He added: "These coins are incredibly common and are worth exactly what it says on the tin: 1p."

In a final word of caution, the coin collector warned: "There are scammers and fake posts circulating online, especially on social media and dodgy websites, trying to convince people they've got a fortune in their pocket.
"These are designed to trick you, either into handing over money, personal info, or just chasing fake dreams. Always double-check with reliable sources. If it sounds too good to be true... it probably is."
The Royal Mint has revealed that a total of 1.5 million of these coins were minted in that year to replace the old 'pre-decimal' currency which was being phased out.
According to the Britannia Coin Company, this is by far the largest annual mintage for 1p coins since decimalisation. Prior to this, all early decimal pennies bore the words 'NEW PENNY' on the reverse, including those dated 1971.
However, from 1982 onwards, this was changed to 'ONE PENNY'. While it's still possible to find portcullis pennies in your change, they are becoming increasingly rare.
This is due to The Royal Mint withdrawing old, worn coins in favour of newly minted ones. In other words, you'd be extremely fortunate to come across a penny coin dated 1971.

'I was puppy scammed and left heartbroken - now I'm helping stop the fraudsters'

Fraudsters are now even using AI to scam people when they look to buy a puppy Dog lovers are being urged to stay alert to avoid falling into a costly, and heart-breaking, trap. Whether you're thinking about bringing home your very first pet or adding a companion for your current furry pal, there are important warning signs you should be aware of. ‌ Summer is a popular time for families to welcome a new furry friend thanks to the warmer weather and school holidays. Because of this, it's often seen as the perfect moment to help a pup settle in. ‌ But while you're dreaming of playful pups, family fun and sunny strolls, scammers are on the lookout. With demand for puppies at a seasonal high, fraudsters are seizing the opportunity and experts say it's the ideal scenario for scams. ‌ Kate Margolis, pet fraud expert and co‑founder of Petproov, who help people avoid the heart-break of scams, knows this feeling all too well. 'I handed over a £500 deposit for a gorgeous Golden Retriever pup I'd seen online,' says Kate. 'The seller then told me it had 'eaten plastic and died' and they disappeared. I was left with no puppy, no refund, and a huge hole in my heart.' ‌ Kate soon realised she wasn't alone and sadly, her experience is shared by many. Every day, scammers create fake puppy listings using stolen photos, made-up sob stories and use high-pressure tactics to convince people to hand over their money. Hoping to spare others the heartbreak she went through, Kate is now sharing five key red flags every family should watch for before paying a deposit. And if you spot anything suspicious, make sure to report it. 1. 'Ready to go today" Scammers thrive on creating a sense of urgency and will say things like 'only one left,' 'getting loads of interest,' or 'first come, first served' to rush you into making a payment without thinking it through. A trustworthy breeder will never pressure you like that. ‌ 2. Recognise that pup? If the puppy photo looks flawless, that's a red flag. Scammers often steal images from Google, Instagram and real breeder websites. Doing a quick reverse image search could save you a lot of money and if you spot the same photo in several listings, it's a scam. 3. Video calls can fool you A live video might seem convincing, but scammers are getting more sophisticated. Some use pre-recorded footage, or even AI, to fake a wagging tail on screen. To be safe, always arrange an in-person visit before making any payments. 4. Ask for ID and verify it Would you buy a car from someone without a name, address or any paperwork? Probably not. Reputable breeders should have no problem sharing ID, vet documents and microchip details and if they do, walk away. 5. Don't bank transfer strangers Once your money's sent, there's often no getting it back. Avoid sending bank transfers to people you haven't met in person. Stick to secure payment methods and if anything feels suspicious, trust your instincts and walk away.

Tommy Fleetwood's net worth and wife with 23-year age gap who initially rejected him

More info Tommy Fleetwood is setting his sights on finally breaking his unwanted PGA Tour record in Memphis. The 34 year old is participating in the St Jude Championship at TPC Southwind. Despite finishing as runner-up at two majors and being part of winning Ryder Cup teams twice, Fleetwood has yet to clinch a title on the PGA Tour. He holds the record as the player who has earned the most money on the tour without securing a victory. Fleetwood has amassed substantial prize money throughout his career, reports the Mirror, with his wealth standing at £23.3m ($31.3m), according to the PGA. This year, he has pocketed £4.7m ($6.4m) across 16 events, including his £1.31m payday after finishing T2 at the Travelers Championship in June. His earnings are supplemented by lucrative endorsement deals with Nike, Taylormade and Tag Heuer. However, Fleetwood's wife and agent Clare has previously stated that Fleetwood intentionally declines some opportunities to earn extra money. "You know we've turned down loads, absolutely loads because I just know his time," she shared on the Performance People podcast in 2023. "I genuinely know that day will be more important to him at home than whatever is being made in the bank account and I don't care about the bank account either as much, so I'm on his wavelength." Fleetwood first encountered his future wife Clare through his brother Joe, who worked with her at Hambric Sports Management. The golfer joined the company as a client in 2015 but Fleetwood revealed that he had already formed a connection with Clare. "I get on well with Clare Craig, too, who is vice-president of Europe," he penned in his Golf Monthly blog in June 2015. "She's always been around on Tour, and I've chatted to her a lot over the years." Later that year, Clare took on the role of Fleetwood's manager and their professional relationship blossomed into a romantic one. The pair tied the knot in 2017 and have a son named Frankie together, along with two stepsons from Clare's previous relationship. Born in Southport, Fleetwood relocated his family to Dubai in 2022. Despite their eventual marriage, Clare initially rebuffed Fleetwood when he proposed starting a romantic relationship. The 56 year old was apprehensive about the dynamic, not just because they were colleagues. "We've got a 23-year age difference," she revealed on the Performance People podcast. "Of course, I turned him down. I was like, 'Don't be stupid'. Fleetwood shared how he eventually won over his wife's heart, saying: "Well, she just eventually gave in, think and thought, 'I'll just give him some time. I'll give him the time of day and then we'll go from there. "And then I didn't mess up." Clare did ponder quitting her job as Fleetwood's manager when their romance sparked, but after a six-month trial, they both agreed she could handle both roles. She detailed the advantages of being both Fleetwood's spouse and agent, especially when it comes to financial matters. "I know everything on every side – so there's sponsorship side, the logistics side, the PR side, the accounts side, everything," Clare stated. "Maybe sometimes too much you know, because then that's all I think about sometimes but that's just the different dynamic." She also described the complexity of decision-making in her dual role, noting: "I look at one question – it might have 15 answers for me. Do you know what I mean? "It's a little bit more complicated for me because I see things you know like – are we going to live? I don't see it as a lifestyle choice necessarily, I'll look at it as a business choice as well."
