‘Captain America: Brave New World' Arrives On Streaming This Week
Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford's Marvel movie adventure Captain America: Brave New World is new on digital streaming this week.
Captain America: Brave New World opened in theaters on Feb. 14. The logline for the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe chapter reads, 'In Captain America: Brave New World, Sam (Mackie) finds himself in the middle of an international incident after meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross (Ford). He must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red.'
Disney recently announced that Captain America: Brave New World will released on digital streaming via premium video on demand on Tuesday, April 15.
Captain America: Brave New World will be available on a variety of digital platforms, including AppleTV, Fandango at Home and Prime Video for $29.99 for purchase and $24.99 for a 48-hour rental.
In addition to Mackie and Ford, Captain America: Brave New World also stars Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Carl Lumbly and Xosha Roquemore, Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler and Tim Blake Nelson.
Captain America: Brave New World — which is the fourth Captain America film in the MCU — is directed by Julius Onah (The Cloverfield Paradox).
Chris Evans starred as Steve Rogers/Cap in the title role first three Captain America films before he handed the shield over to Mackie's Sam Wilson/Falcon at the end of Avengers: Endgame.
Harrison Ford assumes the role of Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross following the death of Oscar-winning actor William Hurt, who played the character in five MCU films before he died in March of 2022 at age 71.
Ford, 82, of course, has starred in the iconic Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises and played such legendary characters as Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan and Rick Deckard in the Blade Runner movies.
In an interview with ABC's Good Morning America prior to the release of Captain America: Brave New World in theaters, Ford said he reveled in the opportunity to play in the MCU because it marks a first for him.
"It's a Marvel movie for God's sake. And it's got all of that smash and grab, running, jumping and falling down stuff," Ford told GMA. "Being in a Marvel film is a privilege. It's an introduction to a whole new genre."
Plus, Ford added that he was excited that the role of Ross came with an added wrinkle, telling GMA, "He's complicated — he turns into a Hulk on rare occasions."
Captain America Brave New World has made nearly $199.7 million in North American theaters and $213.5 million internationally for a worldwide box office tally of $413.2 million against a $180 million production budget before prints and advertising costs, The Numbers reported.
Additionally, Captain America Brave New World received a 48% 'rotten' rating from Rotten Tomatoes critics based on 334 reviews, and a 79% 'fresh' score on RT's Popcornmeter based on 10,000-plus verified user ratings.
Captain America Brave New World arrives on PVOD on Tuesday.

Sabrina Carpenter Has Cheeky Response to Rumored Olivia Rodrigo Drama
Originally appeared on E! Online has a short n' sweet take on drama of the past. The 'Taste' singer has largely shied away from addressing the speculation she is the 'blonde girl' Olivia Rodrigo sings about in breakout anthem 'drivers license'—largely thought to be about her breakup with Joshua Bassett—Sabrina did make a cheeky remark to her trademark hair color in her new song 'Skin.' After all, the lyrics suggest, 'Maybe blonde was the only rhyme.' But as for whether she was really alluding to the 2021 love triangle between the Disney stars? 'I didn't really intentionally do that,' Sabrina, 26, told Rolling Stone in an interview publish June 12. 'All I knew was that it wasn't going to stop me from doing what I loved, ever. That's kind of how I've always felt. Sometimes, it's about how you are able to be resilient.' That said, she looks back on that time as a real period of growth. More from E! 'You might not see that in the moment, but you see it later.' She has not only fully moved on from the drama—but has embraced her blonde identity. 'I don't think about it, ever,' she emphasized, adding, 'I've tried being brunette, and it didn't look good on me, so this is what it is.' As for proof Sabrina and Olivia both put it in the rear view, they reunited at the 2025 Grammys and shared a sweet embrace. For her part, Olivia chose not to name names while speaking about "Drivers License' as she wanted the song to speak for itself. "I totally understand people's curiosity with the specifics of who the song's about and what it's about, but to me, that's really the least important part of the song,' Olivia told Billboard in January 2021. 'It's resonating with people because of how emotional it is, and I think everything else is not important.' While Olivia and Sabrina have made it clear there's no more bad blood, they aren't the only stars to be embroiled in drama. ‘How to Train Your Dragon' Flies to $198 Million Globally, ‘Lilo & Stitch' Surpasses $850 Million
It's a PG box office boon as two live-action remakes are notching impressive theatrical milestones. Universal and DreamWorks Animation's 'How to Train Your Dragon' is flying to $200 million globally in its debut, while Disney's 'Lilo & Stitch' has surpassed $850 million worldwide after four weekends of release. Both of the family films are successfully selling tickets and drawing crowds despite catering to similar moviegoing demographics. More from Variety Box Office: 'How to Train Your Dragon' Soars to $83 Million Debut, A24's 'Materialists' Impresses With $12 Million Start 'How to Train Your Dragon' Used Bagpipes, Sheep Fur and the Faroe Islands to Bring the Remake to Life Box Office: 'How to Train Your Dragon' Lifts Off With Fourth-Biggest Opening Day of 2025, 'Materialists' Serving Third Place Debut 'How to Train Your Dragon' collected $114 million while landing in 81 overseas markets, ranking as the No. 1 movie at the international box office. The film also topped the charts in North America with $83 million for a global start of $197.8 million. Top territories include Mexico with $14 million, the United Kingdom and Ireland with $11.2 million and China with $11.2 million. Dean DeBlois wrote and direct the $150 million-budgeted 'How to Train Your Dragon' remake, having previously steered the animated trilogy, which includes the 2010 original, 2014's 'How to Train Your Dragon 2' and 2019's 'How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World,' to $1.6 billion globally. Set on the mythical viking village of Berk, the first story follows the adventures of a scrawny misfit teen named Hiccup, who befriends an injured dragon he calls Toothless. A live-action sequel, 'How to Train Your Dragon 2,' is already set for 2027. Parents with young kids also continued to fill seats for 'Lilo & Stitch,' which collected $31.1 million from 52 markets in its fourth frame. The comedic adventure about a misfit alien creature has generated $491 million overseas and $858 million worldwide since the Memorial Day holiday frame. As long as momentum sustains, 'Lilo & Stitch' is readying to become the year's first billion-dollar release. In another box office milestone, Paramount's 'Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning' has crossed $500 million worldwide. The eighth entry in Tom Cruise's action franchise brought in $21 million from 66 territories over the weekend, boosting its haul to $340.5 million overseas and $506 million worldwide. However, Paramount spent roughly $400 million on production — and since movie theater owners get to keep about half of ticket sales, 'The Final Reckoning' won't come close to breaking even in its box office run.
