Coronation Street fans are clamouring for a legend's comeback in a plot twist involving Betsy Swain. The troublemaker, played by Sydney Martin, has been at the heart of a number of key storylines.
After she first appeared on the famous cobbles last year as the daughter of DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers), she was left heartbroken when her boyfriend, Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan), met a tragic end.
Her grief was compounded when she was shot in a terrifying incident. A harrowing episode showed Rob Donovan (Marc Bayliss) taking Lisa, Tracy (Kate Ford), and Carla Connor (Alison King) hostage, leading to Betsy being shot and losing feeling in her arm.
This injury has greatly affected Betsy, and this week she sought retribution on Tracy. After stealing her flower van with Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), she inadvertently crashed it.

But her trouble doesn't end there. It was also revealed that Betsy had begun to regain sensation in her arm but chose to keep it secret, exaggerating her injury for sympathy, according to Leicestershire Live.

However, in Wednesday's episode of the ITV soap (April 30), Carla caught Betsy using her arm and exposed her deception in front of her mother.
Now Coronation Street fans are abuzz on social media, pondering whether an old favourite might come back to Weatherfield to sort out Betsy's latest shenanigans.

Members of a Coronation Street Facebook group have been vocal about the character's recent behaviour, with one fan lamenting: "Betsy is really annoying me! Becoming a right madam, hopefully someone puts her right soon."
Speculation among fans includes calls for the return of Carla's former stepson, Simon Barlow, portrayed by Alex Bain. One fan asserted: "Bring Simon back! He would have Carla's back."
Eager discussions continue, as another fan shares their expectation: "Yesss, I've been thinking for a while he's probably due a return."

Others echo this sentiment, with another fan suggesting, "She definitely needs straightening out, and maybe he would be the best option for her."
Simon, played by Chris Gascoyne's real-life son Peter Barlow, was last seen in 2024 when he decided to join his father working on a yacht following Peter's departure on Boxing Day.
Coronation Street is available to watch on ITVX.

Eamonn Holmes shares rare update on ex-wife Ruth Langsford
Eamonn Holmes shares rare update on ex-wife Ruth Langsford Eamonn Holmes has shared an update following his split from Ruth Langsford in a post about their rescue dog Eamonn Holmes mentioned his ex Ruth Langsford in a post about their rescue dog Maggie this week (Image: (Image: Ken McKay/ITV/REX/Shutterstock)) Former ITV This Morning presenter Eamonn Holmes mentioned his former wife Ruth Langsford in a post about their rescue dog Maggie this week. He's offered a glimpse into their current arrangements after paying homage to Maggie over the weekend. Eamonn and Ruth, both 65, revealed last year that they had chosen to part ways after 14 years of marriage. The ex-couple, who share a son, were subsequently reported to be embroiled in a custody battle over their beloved pooch Maggie, whom they had welcomed into their family in 2011. Following his recent post about Maggie, Eamonn returned to Instagram with a fresh update. It featured him praising Ruth, who frequently shares posts about walking Maggie, and hinted at his future plans. Eamonn informed his followers that Maggie would appear in the Times this week. He penned: "So much interest and Love for Maggie following yesterday's post to the extent that she is going to star in @thetimes on line from tomorrow and this week's Sunday Times." He commented: "Ruth does all the hard stuff with her because of my Wheelchair restrictions but working hard to hopefully get better soon and adopt another #Rescue #Dog like we did from @dogstrust all those years ago!" The presenter shared: "Maggie changed my life and she was making me very happy in The Sunshine today. In many ways she reminds me of my dearly departed Mum - a really bad knee and hardly any teeth left but not bad for a 17 year old!" reports the Mirror. Eamonn, who supports the rescue group K-9 Angels, concluded: "Please try to Adopt and Not Shop if u can. from organisations like @thek9angels and @dogstrust Enjoy the Sunshine but please be aware of your dog in a car and it's little feet on hot pavements. Bye from Maggie and Me." The journalist, who used Randy Newman's song You've Got A Friend in Me from Toy Story (1995) in his post, had previously posted about Maggie. Alongside photos, he said in his earlier post: "17 years apart ... and we r both still going - JUST. Maggie and Me #dogstrust #adoptdontshop." He mentioned his ex Ruth Langsford, with whom he had adopted Maggie, in the post Following their separation, Eamonn and Ruth were reportedly having "difficult conversations" about where Maggie would reside. There were even rumours of a custody dispute over the dog between the former couple. However, it was suggested in May last year that Maggie was likely to primarily stay with Loose Women panelist Ruth. A source told the Sun at the time that Maggie is "like a daughter" to the exes, who were both said to "dote" on her. Article continues below The source further revealed to the outlet: "But she's getting on and they know she needs stability. It's a case of who can give her that." They added that the thought of "giving her up" was "heartbreaking" for GB News presenter Eamonn. A source revealed that Eamonn "adores" the dog, but hinted at the possibility of the pet going to his ex. They stated last year: "But if Ruth is able to get out and about and walk her more, then it may well be that she gets Maggie in the split."

Katie Price's ex Kieran Hayler tells Princess 'I'm sorry' after her sad confession
Katie Price's ex-husband Kieran Hayler has spoken about their break-up after her daughter Princess Andre opened up about the former couple's split on the Princess Diaries An apology has been issued to Princess Andre by Kieran Hayler following his split from Katie Price. It comes after the teenager said she found it difficult dealing with her mother and stepfather's separation seven years ago. Katie, 47, married Kieran, 38, in 2013 but they separated five years later after he cheated on her, including with one of her "best friends". He was a step-parent to his wife's eldest three children during the relationship and the former couple, who later finalised their divorce, share two kids. Princess, 18, spoke about the aftermath of her mother's break-up from stepfather Kieran on her new reality TV show the Princess Diaries, which launched last week, saying that she found the situation "hard". It comes after Princess said she was 'independent' from her parents as she broke her silence after drama with Katie. READ MORE: Katie Price worries fans with appearance in family photo after explaining weight loss Kieran, who has said that "nothing ended badly" between himself and his stepchildren, has now spoken to the Daily Mail. Addressing comments made by Princess on the ITV show, he said that the situation makes him "feel so sad". He said: "I am as sorry as I can be to Princess witnessing us go through such a horrible separation. Leaving them was one of the hardest things I ever had to do." Kieran suggested that he "would love to apologise" to her in person. Further discussing the "difficult" situation following the break-up, Kieran said that he would like to reach out and support Princess. He added that he intends to watch her reality TV show, which launched over the weekend. Kieran said that the breakdown of a marriage and a parent leaving the house "rocks" the world of any children involved. He said that as much as the split from Katie impacted the adults involved, it "disrupted" and "affected" the kids. He said that he "made sure" to keep in touch with his stepchildren after the separation but admitted that the bond "disappears over time". He suggested that he no longer has a role in their lives after being a "massive part" of them once. Kieran, who said that he believes he was the "best stepfather" that he could have been, expressed regret over his relationship with Katie. He however suggested that some things should be "kept private" from kids. He said: "I regret the way things happened but at the same time those are issues I never put around the children, they were put around the children by everything becoming so public." Kieran, who said that he's "never spoken honestly" in a bid to "protect" the children involved, said that the family weren't able to "get away from it" and that it often gets "dragged up". His comments come after Princess spoke about Katie splitting from Kieran. She said on the launch episode of the Princess Diaries on Sunday: "He was in our lives for like five years so we got really close to him, obviously we loved him." She added: "He did a lot of stuff and when they split up everything kind of went downhill. My mum, obviously being heartbroken, didn't deal with that the best way. She went through a very, very like dark time, which is understandable." Princess said: "It was hard for me because I was around adulty things that kids should never see and I think as well when we needed our mum there, she wasn't emotionally able to be there because she had so much of her own problems going on." She went on to discuss crying amid press coverage in the aftermath.

Love Island fans convinced Harry is secretly loaded after he shows off huge home and pool
Love Island's Harry Cooksley is still a hot topic of conversation now he's out of the villa and has been vowing fans with videos of a huge home and a palatial pool Love Island fans reckon Harry Cooksley is mega minted after he showed off a jaw-dropping home on TikTok. The reality star, who made it to the final of the ITV series with Shakira last week, looked like lord of the manor when he posted a clip of himself in an enormous garden, which came complete with a sizeable swimming pool. Harry shared snaps of Shakira at the house as well as his family and friends for a lavish homecoming, with a caption, which read: "Amazing to see everyone," followed by a love heart. Fans are convinced the footballer must be loaded after seeing the snaps, with many commenting on how rich Harry must be. However, all is it not as it seems, according to reports. It comes as a former Love Island star made a surprise appearance on the new series of Celebs Go Dating. The Sun reports that the home doesn't belong to Harry and is, in fact, the residence of his pal, entrepreneur, Harry Hugo. Harry Hugo visited the Islander during the Meet The Family day in the villa, on this year's series of Love Island. He has shared pictures of his impressive pad on his Instagram over the years, from a Christmas dip in the pool to a housewarming in July 2021. A source close to Harry, who chose not to be named, told the outlet: 'Harry Hugo is very well connected and rich and Harry spends a lot of time with him and was doing some trading for him before. 'Harry Hugo has been looking out for Harry C for a while, but Love Island's Harry is far from rich - unless Harry Hugo has him on some insane salary.' Harry has not claimed the home is his, but after pictures and a video shared on social media since his return to the UK, fans have assumed it's his family home - and that he's rolling in cash. The reality star shared a video from the palatial pile recently on TikTok, where he thanked fans for their support during his time on the show, which he left, coupled up up with Shakira. However, viewers were more interested in the stately home behind him, which boasted a perfectly manicure lawn and inviting-looking swimming pool. Commenting on what they believed was his family's wealth, one fan wrote: "Oh Harry you rich rich! I see that garden haha."
