Every year, a list is compiled by NFL players, where they essentially rank their teammates and opponents. The Top 100 NFL Players list is already starting to roll out with players like Tua Tagovailoa, James Cook, Zach Allen, and more revealed so far.

Though the list is often up for debate, there are players who just don't see the value in it. One such player is Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Mahomes joined "The Kay Adams Show," where he discussed the Top 100 NFL Players list and was brutally honest about what it means to him.
"At the end of the day all I'm trying to do is win Super Bowls and I don't care where I am on that list — no offense.'

When host Kay Adams talks about Mahomes' relationship with the list, coyly inferring that the Chiefs quarterback has been ranked all over the place, he is honest about not caring at all where he is ranked on it.
"I know it's a year-by-year thing. There is a lot of great quarterbacks, a lot of great players in this league. They can rank me wherever they rank me. At the end of the day all I'm trying to do is win Super Bowls, and I don't care where I am on that list — no offense."
Mahomes has the right attitude regarding the Top 100 NFL Player list. In fact, he has been ranked No. 1 two different times, but he has also been ranked fourth in 2023, eighth in 2022, and fourth in 2020.

Simply put, Mahomes has been in the top 10 on the list for many years, but nobody would argue that he is the best quarterback in the league. He is viewed as the best player in the league as well.
The reasoning behind Mahomes being viewed as the best player in the league is that he sets himself apart by his play. Even in the 2024 NFL season, the Chiefs were hampered by injuries.
Isaiah Pacheco, Hollywood Brown, and Juju Smith-Schuster all dealt with injuries, leaving Mahomes with a rotating cast of offensive pass catchers. Despite losing multiple players for weeks at a time, the Chiefs were able to make it to the Super Bowl for the third year in a row.
Sadly, the Chiefs were routed by the Philadelphia Eagles and were not able to be the first team in NFL history to complete the coveted threepeat, but they still made it to the big game.
Kansas City continues to be the team to beat in the AFC, and a big reason for that is Mahomes. He is arguably the best clutch player in the NFL, and ranking him anywhere on the Top 100 list wouldn't matter.
Mahomes is on a trajectory similar to Tom Brady, and the Chiefs star has been to five Super Bowls since becoming the starter. Simply put, he is special, and no list will ever take that away.

Steelers Legend Proclaims 'Thin Margin of Error' for Rookie QB

Steelers Legend Proclaims 'Thin Margin of Error' for Rookie QB originally appeared on Athlon Sports. As a sixth-round draft pick, Will Howard's chances of eventually becoming the starting quarterback are not great. Advertisement First off, he's already behind the 10-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion, Aaron Rodgers for at least this season. Second, he's going to have to beat Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson to get closer to Rodgers on the depth chart, and per legendary Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, that could be tough. "Will Howard is behind the eight-ball big time in the sense that he was a sixth-rounder," Roethlisberger said on his "Footbahlin" podcast. "Unless he comes out at some point this year, he'd have to play this year. Not just practice. Aaron would have to get hurt; we don't want that, but Will would have to play and play well. Otherwise, they're probably gonna go draft a quarterback high. "When they draft a quarterback high, they're most likely not going to put the sixth-rounder in above a high draft pick ... Will's road is going to be tough here in Pittsburgh, I believe. Unless he gets a chance to get out there and he plays well from the get-go, he's not gonna be able to have hiccups." Advertisement Howard has five year of experience in the college ranks, splitting time between Kansas State and Ohio State, winning a national championship with the Buckeyes last season. But that doesn't always translate to the NFL, especially during a rookie season. 2025 Arizona Cardinals training camp roster preview: WR Simi Fehoko

We will preview every player on the Cardinals roster leading up to training camp. This is about WR Simi Fehoko. The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team. Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2024, questions they face and their roster outlook. This focuses on receiver Simi Fehoko. Simi Fehoko background, 2024 season Fehoko enters his fifth NFL season and his first with the Cardinals. He was drafted in the third round in 2021 by the Dallas Cowboys and spent two seasons there. He played the last two seasons for the LA Chargers. In his career, he has played in 24 games, catching 10 passes for 139 yards and a touchdown. Last season, he played in eight games, starting twice, and had six receptions for 106 yards. He played 211 offensive snaps and 81 on special teams. He missed the final nine games with an elbow injury that sent him to injured reserve. Simi Fehoko 2025 contract details, cap hit He signed a one-year, $1.75 million contract as a free agent this offseason. He was paid a $250,000 signing bonus and will make $1.17 million in salary, $1 million of which is guaranteed. He can earn up to $255,000 in per-game roster bonuses and had a $75,000 workout bonus. He will count $1.615 million against the cap and, if he plays in more than eight games, the additional money he earns in the per-game roster bonuses, will count against the 2026 cap. Questions he faces, roster outlook Fehoko must stay healthy and prove that he can increase his role. He has size (6-foot-4) and speed. Can he either carve out a role on special teams or on offense? His guarantees suggest the team plans on him making the roster, but he should be considered on the roster bubble with a slightly higher likelihood of making the team as opposed to not. Gilmore Could Be Tug-Of-War Signing For Cowboys vs. Eagles

Gilmore Could Be Tug-Of-War Signing For Cowboys vs. Eagles originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The entirety of the Philadelphia Eagles put on a display of dominance last season that culminated in a triumph in Super Bowl LIX. Looking around the depth chart, any weakness was hard to identify if even applicable. Advertisement The Dallas Cowboys, their NFC East rivals, cannot at this time quite make that boast. Philadelphia's defensive front led by monstrous defensive tackle Jalen Carter earned plenty of shine and linebacker Zack Baun became one of the best stories around the NFL. In some ways, the excellence of the Eagles' secondary took a back seat. But that did not stop a breakout campaign from their young stars. Both Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean shined in their rookie seasons. Eli Ricks and Kelee Ringo represent the other budding pieces in the secondary all ready to repeat their success again in 2025. But could this group explore the addition of some veteran talent? Advertisement Super Bowl champion and NFL Defensive Player of the Year Stephon Gilmore remains a free agent. Gilmore has no leaning as to his next destination. Though he's made it clear he wants to play – it just has to be in the "right situation." Dallas Cowboys fans are clamoring for "America's Team'' to bring back "Gilly,'' an effective player for the team in 2023. But if he wants the insider track to a Super Bowl? If this becomes an NFC East tug-of-war? The Eagles signed Adoree' Jackson during free agency so there is some veteran flavor to this young cornerbacks room. However, Gilmore became a mercenary to help contending teams in the latter stages of his career and joining the Eagles would be a strong decision on his part if he seeks another shot at a championship. Advertisement For Philadelphia (as with Dallas), it's a move that would not, in theory, cost a lot. While the Eagles are more aggressive in these situations, thanks to general manager Howie Roseman, Jerry Jones is in wait-and-see mode. They have valid needs at the position as DaRon Bland is the only healthy and proven guy. In the end, it might be Gilmore's choice and one he might not make until training camps begin July 22.
