Jax Taylor says eBay hustle helped him heal after violent fight with Brittany

Express Tribune24-04-2025
Jax Taylor is addressing his personal and financial battles head-on in season 2 of The Valley, opening up about his decision to enter a mental health facility and defending his surprising eBay side hustle.
In the April 22 episode of the Bravo reality series, Taylor revealed that a violent altercation with estranged wife Brittany Cartwright led to a turning point. Following advice from friend Tom Schwartz and his sister Jenny, the former Vanderpump Rules star agreed to check into a mental health clinic. 'It's just tough for me to ask for help,' Taylor admitted, adding that he wanted to get better for his 4-year-old son, Cruz.
Jax entered treatment after admitting to substance abuse issues involving cocaine and alcohol. He completed a 30-day in-patient program and has been sober for 139 days, as shared on his In The Mind of a Man podcast. 'I'm not tempted at all,' he said of his new lifestyle.
In a lighter moment from The Valley After Show, castmates Jason and Janet Caperna revealed Jax's commitment to his eBay resale business—even asking for help shipping a sale on the way to rehab. 'I don't really give a s--t what anybody thinks about that,' Jax said. 'It supplements our income and I love it. It's a hobby.'
Taylor sells unused products, toys, and household items online, saying it helps cover everyday expenses like gas and school fees for Cruz. 'Why not?' he added.
With therapy, sobriety, and a side hustle fueling his comeback, Jax Taylor's journey is one of resilience, redemption, and real-life reinvention.

'Bloodlines' writer returns for record-breaking 'Final Destination' sequel

New Line Cinema is doubling down on death's enduring cinematic appeal, greenlighting a new Final Destination movie with Bloodlines co-writer Lori Evans Taylor returning to pen the script. The decision follows the massive success of Final Destination: Bloodlines, which hit theatres in May and became the franchise's highest-grossing entry, pulling in over $286 million worldwide, $138.1 million of that from domestic audiences. Released as the sixth installment and the first since 2011, Bloodlines revitalized the series with its familiar formula of supernatural inevitability, premonitions, and elaborate death sequences. Its domestic earnings more than doubled the previous top-grosser in the series, 2009's The Final Destination. Taylor co-wrote Bloodlines with Guy Busick (Ready or Not), based on a story developed with Busick and Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts, who also produced alongside his wife Dianne McGunigle. Directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, as well as franchise veterans Craig Perry and Sheila Hanahan Taylor, were also instrumental in the reboot's success. The Final Destination concept remains deceptively simple yet endlessly adaptable: a protagonist has a vision of a deadly accident, prevents it, and inadvertently sets off a chain of gruesome 'accidents' as Death claims its intended victims one by one. Since its launch in 2000, the franchise has grossed over $983 million globally, making it New Line's third most successful horror property, behind The Conjuring universe ($2.3 billion) and the It films ($1.2 billion). Taylor's horror credentials extend beyond Bloodlines. She adapted Carla Norton's The Edge of Normal (with Chloë Grace Moretz starring), wrote the psychological thriller Cellar Door, directed Bed Rest starring Melissa Barrera, and adapted I Am Still Alive for Universal with Ben Affleck attached. No release date for the new Final Destination has been announced, but with Taylor back on board, fans can expect more inventive, morbidly clever ways for Death to get the last word.

‘Special Forces: World's Toughest Test' season 4 celebrity cast revealed

Fox's intense reality series Special Forces: World's Toughest Test returns this fall with a new group of celebrities ready to take on military-style challenges in its fourth season. The show, which mimics the grueling physical and mental training of the real-life Special Forces selection process, will premiere Thursday, Sept. 25 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Fox. The 18-person cast includes some headline-making names, most notably actor Jussie Smollett. Known for his role on Empire, Smollett has kept a low profile since a 2019 incident in which he alleged he was the victim of a hate crime—an allegation authorities later disputed. After a lengthy legal battle, he recently settled with the city of Chicago. Joining Smollett is Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice, along with her daughter, Gia Giudice, who also appears on the Bravo series and is an influencer and podcaster. America's Next Top Model winner and Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Eva Marcille will also compete. Other cast members include Sister Wives patriarch Kody Brown; Vanderpump Rules personality Brittany Cartwright; NFL veterans Randall Cobb, Eric Decker, and Andrew East; and gymnast and Dancing With the Stars winner Shawn Johnson East. Also appearing are model Chanel Iman, TikTok creator Mark Estes, Barstool Sports podcaster Brianna 'Chickenfry' LaPaglia, and former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel. The lineup rounds out with actor Ravi V. Patel, Olympic soccer player Christie Pearce Rampone, and former NBA player Nick Young. Previous seasons have been physically punishing and emotionally raw—season 3 included Denise Richards sustaining a serious injury during a stunt. Season 4 promises the same level of intensity, as revealed in exclusive promotional images showing cast members bloodied and exhausted mid-challenge.

However, insiders told TMZ the show was intended to be a one-season limited run, and there were always discussions about her rejoining RHOBH to address the personal challenges she's currently facing. 🚨 BREAKING 🚨 Amidst her divorce, Denise Richards is back filming #RHOBH with Erika and Sutton!! — Queens of Bravo (@queensofbravo) August 3, 2025 It's not yet confirmed whether Richards will return as a full-time cast member or in a supporting 'friend of' role, but sources suggest she is eager to reestablish her presence on the show. Her reappearance also provides an on-camera platform to discuss her tumultuous split from Phypers. The couple's marriage officially unraveled in July when Phypers filed for divorce after six years, citing irreconcilable differences and accusing Richards of infidelity. He claims to have obtained incriminating text messages from her laptop as evidence. In the weeks that followed, the situation escalated further. Richards was granted a temporary restraining order, alleging physical and verbal abuse. Phypers responded by filing a police report related to a July 4th altercation, accusing Richards of assault, vandalism, and theft. While Bravo has yet to confirm Richards' official role in the upcoming season, her return is already stirring attention, promising a dramatic storyline as her personal life takes center stage once again.
