There was an aggravated burglary in Limerick in which the occupant of a house was confronted by a man wielding a knife.
It happened at a home in the O'Connell Avenue area of Limerick City, at around 8am.

A man burst into the premises and confronted the homeowner with a knife, before fleeing with a number of items.
No one was injured in the armed break-in, but the homeowner who was confronted by the burglar, was left shaken by the incident.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and information.

Motorcyclist (40s) airlifted to hospital following collision in Galway
A motorcyclist in his 40s, has been airlifted to University Hospital Galway for treatment of serious, but non-life-threatening injuries following a collision on Sunday afternoon. The collision involving a car and a motorbike – occurred at around 12:30pm at Killourney on the R460 between Tubber and Gort. Advertisement The driver of the car was uninjured. Teen to appear in court following discharge of firearm in Limerick last month
A male in his late teens is to appear in court after being charged in connection with an incident involving the discharge of a firearm on Hyde Avenue, Ballinacurra Weston, Limerick City, on Thursday, May 8th.
