J-Hope isn't letting 2025 pass without making sure everyone knows it's his year. The BTS superstar has been on a roll lately, and this week, he adds yet another win to his growing list of solo smashes. His brand new single 'Mona Lisa' debuts on the Hot 100, helping him make history yet again.
As the track arrives, it adds to a recent hot streak that has seen the singer and rapper land on the chart almost monthly throughout this year. That consistent success is especially notable considering how long it's taken him to rack up even just a few wins on the most competitive songs ranking in the U.S.
J-Hope returns to the Hot 100 this week with his latest release, 'Mona Lisa,' which opens at No. 65. This latest song marks his seventh time appearing on the list, which ranks the most-consumed songs in the U.S. across streaming, sales, and radio play.
Seven Hot 100 hits is an impressive feat on its own, but what's even more incredible is how many of those smashes have come in just this year. Of J-Hope's total solo charting tracks, three have debuted in 2025 alone, including one in each of the past three months.
He kicked things off with 'LV Bag,' a collaboration where he was credited as a featured artist. That tune, fronted by Don Toliver and Speedy, which also features Pharrell Williams, opened at No. 83. Not long after, he rose even higher with 'Sweet Dreams,' a duet with Miguel, which entered the Hot 100 at No. 66 before slipping off.
Now 'Mona Lisa' has managed to beat 'Sweet Dreams' by just a single rung, becoming J-Hope's highest-debuting solo cut of the year so far.
J-Hope first appeared on the Hot 100 all the way back in October 2019. He was joined by Becky G on 'Chicken Noodle Soup,' which reached No. 81. At the time, it was a groundbreaking moment, as very few K-pop soloists had ever landed on the tally.
It wasn't until 2022 that he returned to the list with two tracks from his Jack in the Box album. 'More' and 'Arson' each spent a single week on the Hot 100, arriving at Nos. 82 and 96, respectively. Then, in March 2023, 'On the Street' with J. Cole debuted at No. 60, and that still stands as his highest-charting solo cut to date.
J-Hope hasn't yet explained what this steady stream of releases is leading up to, but fans are hoping it's part of a bigger plan. While 'LV Bag' could easily be part of a future Toliver's project, both 'Sweet Dreams' and 'Mona Lisa' are credited to J-Hope as a lead act, and they may very well be part of a forthcoming EP or full-length…but for now, though, the South Korean powerhouse is keeping quiet.

A Swedish Wedding Singer Makes a Literary Match

One wedding is fake, ending in a three-way kiss. Another unfolds in the shadow of a secret cancer diagnosis, and one ends with a sung ode 'to whatever fate may bring.' In all there are 10 ceremonies in the new novel 'Songs for Other People's Weddings,' about a wedding singer named J who composes original songs for celebrating couples. J is also negotiating a complication-strewn relationship with his girlfriend V, who moves to New York from their home city of Gothenburg, Sweden, to pursue her career. As J agonizes over their future, he also interrogates the true — and healthiest — meanings of love. What makes the book unique is signaled by a QR code at its beginning, which gives the reader access to the 10 songs that J sings. They were composed by the acclaimed Swedish singer-songwriter Jens Lekman, who, while releasing five wry, melancholy albums and many EPs, has had a longtime side gig as a wedding singer. His co-author, the award-winning Y.A. novelist David Levithan, has written the book's main narrative. Lekman dedicates the novel to 'the 132 couples whose weddings I've played at over the years,' adding, 'I hope my presence turned out to be a blessing and not a curse.' The pair first communicated in 2005 when Levithan — who co-wrote 'Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist,' which was adapted into a 2008 movie — was writing his novel 'Wide Awake.' 'I was listening to a lot of Jens's music — there is a certain bookish quality to his songs,' he said. Though largely a cult figure in the United States, Lekman has his devotees; in 2019 The Guardian named his album 'Night Falls Over Kortedala' one of the best of the 21st century, sandwiched between music by Kanye West and Janelle Monáe. Twice Hits Several Major Milestones On The Hot 100

Everything connected to Netflix's KPop Demon Hunters has become hugely popular in the past few months. That includes the tunes penned specifically for the animated flick, as well as a cut originally made famous by Twice. The girl group was involved in the globally-successful project, and the K-pop favorites are benefiting immensely from the popularity of KPop Demon Hunters, which brings the singers to a new high point on the most important songs chart in America. Twice's 'Strategy' Hits a New Peak on the Hot 100 Twice's 'Strategy' rises from No. 74 to No. 69 on the Hot 100 this week. That's a new high point not only for the track itself, but for the act. The group has collected a trio of placements on the Hot 100 throughout the years. The K-pop stars first reached the list with 'The Feels' in October 2021, followed by 'Moonlight Sunrise' in 2023. Those cuts peaked at Nos. 83 and 84, respectively. Twice's Longest-Charting Smash 'Strategy' isn't only Twice's highest-reaching win, it's also the girl group's longest-charting title on the Hot 100. This frame is the tune's third on the ranking. Both 'The Feels' and 'Moonlight Sunrise' only spent one frame on the competitive roster of the most consumed songs in the United States before slipping off. Now, 'Strategy' has outpaced both of those cuts combined. Originally a Duet with Megan Thee Stallion 'Strategy' was originally released in December 2024 as a collaboration between Twice and Megan Thee Stallion. It fronted the K-pop stars' EP of the same name and became a minor hit on some global rankings. It wasn't until K-Pop Demon Hunters came around that 'Strategy' truly exploded in popularity, though Stallion is not credited on the track at the moment. Two tracks by Twice appear on the K-Pop Demon Hunters soundtrack. 'Strategy' is credited to the group as a whole, while a reworking of 'Take Down' credits only Jeongyeon, Jihyo and Chaeyoung, three singers in the band.

J-Hope's Entire Solo Chart History Reappears On The Same List

K-pop stars are known as some of the bestselling musicians in the world these days. While many music fans have migrated to streaming platforms to consume the songs and albums they love, the biggest names emerging from the South Korean music industry have a tendency to sell huge quantities of individual tunes and full-lengths and EPs, usually on physical formats. Diehard K-pop fans often prefer CDs and, in some cases, vinyl, as the genre lends itself to collectibles. J-Hope, one of the seven singers that make up BTS, proves his selling ability once again in one of the largest music markets in the world this week. He returns to the Official Physical Singles chart, the U.K.'s ranking of the top-selling individual tunes available on any physical format. Typically that means vinyl, but for J-Hope, CDs are the go-to choice. 'Sweet Dreams' and 'Killin' It Girl' Reappear 'Sweet Dreams,' his collaboration with Miguel, and 'Killin' It Girl,' a team-up with rapper GloRilla, both find their way back to the roster this frame, coming in at Nos. 35 and 60, respectively. Both 'Sweet Dreams' and 'Killin' It Girl' debuted on the Official Physical Singles chart this year. J-Hope has only sent two tracks to the list as a soloist throughout his career, and his entire charting discography appears on the roster at the moment. J-Hope's Former No. 1 Hit Between the two, 'Sweet Dreams' is the bigger hit. It's the only one that reached No. 1, as 'Killin' It Girl' stalled one space shy of leading the charge. 'Sweet Dreams' has also spent more than four times as many frames on the Official Physical Singles ranking as 'Killin' It Girl,' with 14 weeks compared to the three that the GloRilla collaboration has managed thus far. Both J-Hope Smashes Haven't Been Gone For Long 'Sweet Dreams' last appeared on the format-specific list on the chart dated July 24, when it reappeared at No. 80 and then fell away. 'Killin' It Girl,' meanwhile, opened at No. 2 on the chart dated June 26, then fell to No. 19 and vanished. 'LV Bag' and 'Mona Lisa' J-Hope has spent 2025 doling out single after single, and he has dropped four solo tracks this year. In addition to 'Sweet Dreams' and 'Killin' It Girl,' he was credited on 'LV Bag' alongside Don Toliver, Speedy, and Pharrell Williams, and he also delivered the tune 'Mona Lisa.' All four cuts are standalone singles at the moment, as they haven't been connected to a larger project. J-Hope last released his EP Hope on the Street Vol. 1 in the spring of 2024.
