EastEnders fans ‘work out' wild new romance for returning Max Branning

EastEnders fans ‘work out' wild new romance for returning Max Branning

Metro2 days ago

EastEnders fans are already speculating about Max Branning's (Jake Wood) return.
It was reported over the weekend that the love rat would be heading back to Albert Square after four years.
The last time we saw him, Max decided to call time on his life in Walford to join daughter Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) and grandson Louie in New Zealand.
It later transpired that Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) – who he had an affair with the previous year – was pregnant with their daughter Annie.
Lauren first met her younger sister last year, though it hasn't been made clear if she ever told Max that he fathered another child.
In scenes that air this week, her newborn son Jimmy will be diagnosed with a visual impairment, with Linda comforting her through the difficult news.
Is this what will bring Max home?
'Jake's return is huge news for EastEnders fans as his character made a massive mark on the show,' a source told The Sun.
'It'll raise some eyebrows after he was absent from the 40th anniversary earlier this year. Bosses are excited about what his character's reappearance means for spicing up the plots.
'There is plenty to go at. Max has loads of unfinished business in the Square and is set to ruffle some feathers.'
His scandalous relationship with Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) was also referenced recently.
Back in 2007, almost 15 million of us tuned in to see their affair exposed on Christmas Day in front of the entire Branning and Slater families. One of their dalliances – on Stacey's wedding day to Max's son Bradley (Charlie Clements), no less – had been recorded by Lauren (then Madeline Duggan).
Despite the obvious history, viewers are convinced that he's probably eyeing up another resident.
Cindy flippin' Beale (Michelle Collins)!
Surely it's only a matter of time before womaniser Max seeks out a new Walford lady, and while it's likely that he's likely that a reunion with Stacey will be at the top of his list, they're never going to be able to play happy families.
Now I'm now advocating Cindy Beale as the most grounded of residents, but given she's here for the long-term and has literally zero friends or family on her side, it's about time she starts settling down.
Ian will always be the one for her – there's no doubt about that – but as much as they love one another, they're just not compatible. Almost four decades of baggage has proved testament to that.
As for Max, there's always the likelihood that old feelings could resurface for Linda too, especially when he realises they share a daughter.
It's certainly going to be an interesting return!
Even if a romance doesn't happen, they'll certainly share scenes as Max was responsible for the death of her eldest son Steven (Aaron Sidwell).
At one point he was also chief suspect in the murder investigation of Cindy's daughter Lucy (Hetti Bywater).
'Before Max and Cindy predictably get together. Some things need to be re-addressed. He was sleeping with Lucy and ultimately was the reason Steven died' said one fan. More Trending
'Max Branning coming back to #EastEnders 50 quid bet that he ends up in Cindy's bed before the end of the year!' added another.
A third demanded: 'Max Branning finally on his way back to Albert Square is the news I needed. I need the Max and Cindy partnership ASAP.'
Shameful Cindy doesn't care who she upsets, and sleeping with the man who tore her family apart is definitely something she'd consider!

Huge EastEnders twist as George's whereabouts on Christmas finally revealed

The floor falls from beneath Elaine Knight's (Harriet Thorpe) feet in EastEnders next week, as she learns where her husband George (Colin Salmon) ran off to on Christmas Day. As viewers of the BBC soap will remember, every member of the Beale and Knight clans provided an alibi for their whereabouts on the festive evening. That was because wicked Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) had been viciously attacked with a snow shovel, and until February, nobody knew who was responsible. It later transpired that Kathy Cotton (Gillian Taylforth) was the culprit, but that left a lot of questions as to where everyone else was on the fateful night – and whether they were telling the truth. George told his family that he was partaking in an illegal underground boxing match, but also later asked brother Kojo (Dayo Koleosho) to back up his alibi. He then admitted to daughter Gina (Francesca Henry) that he wasn't at the fight. In scenes that air this week, Elaine is left furious when he helps out with Cindy's relaunch of The Prince Albert, and her rival karaoke party flops, and by this time next week, things aren't any better between the couple. Tension is simmering behind the bar at The Vic as she silently fumes over George lending a hand his ex-wife a hand with her re-opening. Elaine decides to show her husband how committed she is to him, and presents a touching gift honouring his boxing past. However, as they relish in happiness, his son Junior (Micah Balfour) storms in and drops a bombshell. At Christmas, George secretly visited his ex Sabrina – Junior's mum. An argument escalates when he admits that Sabrina kissed him, although he pushed her away. Elaine declares that she's had enough and throws him out of the family home. An emotional George heads out to find Junior to vent his frustration, but instead crosses paths with Cindy, who – perhaps conveniently – is there to offer a shoulder to cry on. Later, Elaine tries to make peace and goes looking for George… only to spot him on the balcony of The Albert in a very warm embrace with Cindy. Heartbroken, she retreats to the café to gather herself. But things go from bad to worse when she returns and Felix lets slip that George and Cindy left together. More Trending Believing that he has betrayed her, Elaine decides not to wallow in self pity and calls up someone for for a drink. While she waits, a cheeky punter named Stephen tries his luck, but is quickly brushed to one side by Elaine's old pal Drew Peacock (Paul Clayton), the drag queen who had a secret relationship with her late husband. Drew gives Elaine a much-needed pep talk, reminding her to remain strong and not let Cindy get her down. Boosted by Drew's words, Elaine makes a shocking decision. View More » What does she do? John questioned by police on Nate's murder in Emmerdale

In the wake of the discovery of Nate Robinson's (Jurell Carter) untimely Emmerdale death, accusations are flying, but it's John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) who is sweating. Murderous John seemed to be high and dry after the dredging of the lake was called off, and with Aidan slipping back into his coma – the other person who could blow his cover – he smugly returned to the village to resume the new life he'd created for himself. But reality came back to bite him on the bum when they dredged the lake anyway and Nate's body was finally found. It's badly decomposed so it'll be harder for the police to gather much if any DNA, but there will be a thorough investigation regardless and John is not in the clear. Then his worst living nightmare comes true – the police show up to question him about the day Nate disappeared. Having got away with things for this long he plays it cool. But as it turns out, it's not him they're after – it's Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley). Now this does not a happy Cain make, and though the finger isn't pointing at John, John still needs to work hard to protect Cain from going down for a crime he didn't commit – especially in the wake of Tracy Shankley's (Amy Walsh) accusation towards him. Tracy later walks passed and Sam Dingle (James Hooton) can't resist giving her what for. Cain is left shaken and puts voice to a dark thought that he believes Tracy did away with her ex. Finger firmly pointed, Tracy feebly tries to defend herself, but John concocts a dreadful plan to take the heat off Cain. The police soon arrive at Tug Ghyll with a search warrant and make a massive discovery – Nate's phone in Frankie's playhouse. Now the fear sets in for Tracy as she realises how bad things are starting to look – just wait until they find out she's been using his credit card too. But before they even get that far, they learn there is no record of the removal men who came to collect Nate's stuff – the ones that Tracy was the only one to interact with. It's looking damning and Tracy is taken to the station. More Trending The police reveal they suspect Nate died the day he was due to leave, so quick thinking Tracy gives a false alibi – which implicates Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick).
