Miley Cyrus won't tour new album because of her mental health and sobreity
Miley Cyrus has revealed why she won't be touring her latest album, Something Beautiful.
The singer, 32, released her latest album on May 30, including the single End of the World, which has already earned 80million streams on Spotify.
Despite the fantastic reception the new album received, the star has revealed that she has no intention to perform it on tour.
Speaking with Good Morning America, Miley said that she doesn't feel that artists are supported while they are on tour.
'I do have the physical ability, and I have the opportunity to tour – I wish I had the desire, but I don't. I also don't think that there is actually an infrastructure that supports artists.
She added that staying sober was another issue for her on tour: 'It's really hard to maintain sobriety when you're on the road, which is a really important, kind of pillar of stability in my life.'
She added that on top of all of this, she also has to consider her mental health, as tour can come with crushing lows.
'None of this that I create would ever be possible without the way that I think about things.
'And I do think it's really hard to keep mental wellness [while touring]. You have so many thousands of people screaming at you, so [there's] dopamine, you're feeling a lot of love and then you totally crash at the end of the show.
'You start thinking that one person loving you is not enough; it needs to be 10,000, it needs to be 80,000.'
In the interview, Miley mentioned Prince and added that she isn't the only artist to struggle with the intensity of touring. Famously, Michael Jackson hated touring, and stars like Shawn Mendes, Adele, and Zayn Malik have all been open about how their mental health has struggled with touring.
The singer first went on tour in 2007 for the Best of Both Worlds Hannah Montana tour. She toured again in 2009 for the Wonder World Tour, and in 2011 in the Gypsy Heart Tour.
She has also taken on two promotional tours, the 2015 Milky Milky Milk Tour in 2015, which consisted of just eight tour dates to support the album Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz (2015).
In 2022, she also took on a mini 11-show tour, the Attention Tour to support of her seventh studio album, Plastic Hearts (2020). More Trending
This isn't the first time that Miley has spoken honestly about how touring has affected her.
Speaking to British Vogue in 2023, the star once again emphasised that she had 'no desire' to return to the stage, having last toured an album in 2014 with Bangerz.
'It's been a minute,' she said of her years-long break. 'After the last [headline arena] show I did [in 2014], I kind of looked at it as more of a question. And I can't. Not only 'can't', because can't is your capability, but my desire.
'Do I want to live my life for anyone else's pleasure or fulfilment other than my own?' she said.

Star of 90s horror reboot wanted to go 'all gas' on gore in new film
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Madelyn Cline has lifted the lid on those brutal death scenes in the new I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot, sharing that she was excited to go 'all gas' on the gore. After what feels like years of waiting, the horror sequel is in cinemas now, and focuses on a group of friends being hunted by a vengeful hook-wielding killer. The Outer Banks star leads the cast of the revival, alongside Chase Sui Wonders, Sarah Pidgeon, Jonah Hauer-King and Tyriq Withers, while OG icons Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr reprised their roles as Julie James and Ray Bronson respectively. Following director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson's promise that the terrifying aspect would be 'ratcheted up to 100', movie lovers were sent into a spin when a teaser showed one character being stabbed with a harpoon. However, speaking to Metro ahead of the premiere, Madelyn – who plays Danica – told us that the slasher follow-up wasn't quite as gruesome as she was hoping for. When asked if she jumped straight into the stunts, gore and blood, or if anything went wrong at any point, she laughed: 'I think, to me, it was not gore-heavy enough … We wanted to go all gas, no breaks. 'Everything went really smoothly. We had at least a month of prep with stunts and lots and lots of tests to make sure because Jen is very meticulous. 'That's why I think she is the person to tell this story, because she's very specific. She's very meticulous, and she cares deeply about the way everything turns out. 'Everything was great.' To be fair, the trailer showed Danica enjoying a relaxing bath while her co-star was being attacked by the harpoon so she may have missed that particular moment… In the new flick, a group of friends accidentally cause a deadly car accident before covering up their involvement and making a pact to keep it a secret – something that locals in Southport know a lot about… Unfortunately for the gang, their past comes back to haunt them, and they find themselves stalked by a mysterious killer hell-bent on revenge exactly a year after the fateful incident. The original I Know What You Did Last Summer was released in 1997 and became an instant hit, with Julie and Ray jetting out to the Bahamas for the sequel the following year. With the success of the franchise so far, Madelyn conceded that the cast felt 'pressure' to do the original movies justice, while giving everything a 'modern' twist. 'Well, yes, of course! I think we knew going into it, it was going to be its own,' she continued. More Trending 'It's not a standalone, but definitely the goal was to compliment the original and bring back what made the original so good as much as we possibly could. 'But also reintroduce new elements, and give a modern twist, and hopefully bring back everything that people loved, and also give them something to look forward to.' What are you waiting for…? Olivia Attwood reveals how burglars chose 'opportune' moment to target mansion
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Olivia Attwood has been left shaken up after a break-in at the home she shares with husband Bradley Dack. The former Love Islander and her Gillingham footie star husband, 31, whom she wed in 2023, reside in a £1million mansion in Cheshire. And it's a good job the couple has top-notch security in place, as Olivia has revealed thieves waited for the perfect moment to make their move. Taking to social media, the Loose Women and This Morning presenter, 34, told her followers this morning: 'Our house got broken into last night, and I just did a 5am gym sesh 'cause I need to get through some of the rage, and I need to get ready for the busiest f***ing day of my life. 'So, obviously, I can't go into too much detail 'cause it's like an open investigation now, but some scumbags basically smashed a second-floor window, went in. 'Security team got the notification within 30 seconds and were there in two minutes with dogs, and the little scumbags ran off.' On what was taken, she added: 'They got some stuff, but they didn't get what they came for, and now I have to just show face, because it's a really important work day, and I feel a bit tired.' Later on, Olivia defiantly posted that this is the reason why she and Bradley 'pay through the nose for private security', praising the 'incredible' North West police officers who weren't 'far behind'. 'We saw your faces, we have your foot prints, and finger prints', she wrote, addressing the perpetrators directly. 'And sorry what you were looking for isn't actually kept at the property [sic]'. Olivia also took to TikTok to thank her followers for their support, assuring everyone that she, Bradley, and their two dogs are safe. 'We weren't there, the dogs weren't there, and obviously, you know my dogs, the rescue shepherd and Rottweiler; no one's getting into my house and not getting unalived if my dogs are there. 'So these f***ing disgusting vermin were obviously tracking the house, and they obviously went at a time they knew the dogs weren't there. They didn't know we had security with a dog team, so they came down so quickly, thank God, and it's just a horrible thing, isn't it? The feeling someone's been in your house, even if they didn't take the most valuable things.' Olivia then shared that this isn't the first time the pair have been victims of a break-in. 'This has happened to us before, in Manchester. It's like the third time we've been burgled, to be fair. 'It's just a sad society, isn't it?' However, in true Olivia fashion, the Price of Perfection host is remaining strong, declaring, 'Life goes on.' 'There's a lot worse that can happen, so we keep it moving.' She proceeded to throw herself into work today, shrugging off the 'upset and stress' she felt. More Trending 'My head's gonna hit the pillow tonight, and I'll be out,' she signed off, stating that there are now people at her home 'looking after everything'. Olivia and Bradley celebrated their second wedding anniversary last month, having met in 2019. Their special day was then documented for the nation to watch, with all the ups and downs of wedding prep and beyond filmed for her ITV series, Olivia Marries Her Match. Prior to dating Bradley, Olivia was in a relationship with Chris Hughes, 32, with whom she was coupled up on Love Island in 2017. He is now dating JoJo Siwa, 22. Got a story? Meghan Markle suffers major setback as Netflix show fails to make top 300 list
Meghan Markle's Netflix show has failed to make an impact after just 5.3 million watched the series in the first three months after it was released in March Meghan Markle's venture into streaming with her Netflix programme With Love, Meghan has struggled to leave a lasting impression. The Duchess of Sussex's aspirations of building a media empire have hit a stumbling block as the show failed to crack the top 300 programmes during the first six months of the year. The lifestyle programme launched in March but has only accumulated 5.3 million views, securing a rather unremarkable 383rd position on Netflix's viewing rankings. This performance mirrors that of the BBC's Peaky Blinders second series from 2014, as well as the fourth series of Suits - the legal drama in which Meghan herself appeared back in 2011. With Love, Meghan features the Duchess demonstrating her cooking and gardening skills, sharing advice and welcoming celebrities such as Mindy Kaling, with Netflix branding the programme as "inspiring" and a innovative approach to lifestyle television, reports the Mirror. Although it enjoyed a promising launch, rocketing into Netflix's worldwide top 10 on its debut day, later statistics reveal a rapid decline in viewership, worsened by a barrage of harsh critiques. The Telegraph condemned the programme as an "exercise in narcissism", whilst The Guardian branded it "toe-curlingly unlovable TV", with Rotten Tomatoes awarding it just 36% and IMDb delivering a dismal 3.2 score. Regardless of the scathing reviews, Netflix has verified that filming for a second series is already in progress. The eagerly awaited follow-up has wrapped production and is scheduled to debut this autumn. Harry and Meghan clinched a lucrative five-year deal with Netflix in 2020, believed to be worth an impressive $100m (£74.4m). The contract, secured through their production company Archewell, led to the creation of Harry and Meghan – a six-part docuseries that delves into the couple's contentious split from the Royal Family. Despite its initial success as Netflix's most-watched documentary premiere, the series quickly came under fire and experienced a sharp drop in viewership. Last year's data showed that Meghan's previous television series Suits eclipsed the documentary, boasting nine times more viewing hours. Meghan's venture into a Netflix-supported lifestyle brand has also faced criticism upon the revelation that her "craft" jam is made an astonishing 2,000 miles away from her home in Montecito. Originally named American Riviera Orchard, the brand underwent a name change to As Ever due to trademark issues. Beyond Netflix, Harry and Meghan entered into a $20m podcast agreement with Spotify in 2020. However, this partnership fizzled out after Meghan produced merely 12 episodes of her interview series Archetypes over two years. Bill Simmons, a top podcasting executive at Spotify, labelled the duo "grifters" following the conclusion of their collaboration.
