‘Unstoppable' RR Pogoy credits teammates in semis win
On the night RR Pogoy was recognized for reaching 5000 points in the PBA, he just proved to be TNT's main weapon on offense as he finished with a game-high 28 points to tow the Tropang 5G past Rain or Shine in their semis opener.
It was also his crucial baskets late in the fourth period that handed TNT the lead as the Elasto Painters caught up.
'Si RR. Hindi namin mapigilan kanina,' said Andrei Caracut who led Rain or Shine in scoring with 16 points.
'Napag-usapan namin na may adjustments din kami para sa game sa Friday. Pero 'yung timing ng tira ni RR, 'yung four points and pasa niya, mabigat 'yun kaya lumayo sila.'

Caracut was referring to Pogoy's lone 4-pointer at the 4:24 mark of the fourth period which capped TNT's 8-0 run after Rain or Shine inched closer, 75-74.
For Pogoy, however, it was a big help that his teammates also contributed to the win as Poy Erram, Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser, Simon Enciso, and Calvin Oftana also scored in double digits.
''Yung team namin ganoon talaga. Sinasabi lagi ni Coach [Chot], hindi kaya ng isang tao lang manalo, kailangan kaming lahat. We're not the best talented team sa PBA pero gagawin namin lahat para maging best team sa PBA,' he said.
Game 2 of the semis series will be played on Friday.
