Now You See Me: Now You Don't trailer teases return of Four Horsemen and new magician recruits

Express Tribune29-04-2025

Lionsgate has officially released the trailer for Now You See Me: Now You Don't, the highly anticipated third installment in the Now You See Me magician heist franchise.
The film sees the return of the original Four Horsemen and introduces a fresh lineup of new faces ready to pull off an even bigger magical caper.
Returning cast members include Jesse Eisenberg as J. Daniel Atlas, Woody Harrelson as Merritt McKinney, Dave Franco as Jack Wilder, and Isla Fisher reprising her role as Henley Reeves. Mark Ruffalo and Morgan Freeman also return as Dylan Rhodes and Thaddeus Bradley, respectively. This marks Fisher's return to the series after missing the second film.
New additions to the ensemble include Ariana Greenblatt, Dominic Sessa, Rosamund Pike, and Justice Smith, bringing a new energy to the franchise's signature blend of illusion and high-stakes heist drama.
Directed by Ruben Fleischer, the film follows the once-retired Horsemen as they are drawn back into action for another elaborate mission. According to Lionsgate's Motion Picture Group chair Adam Fogelson, the studio was so impressed with the director's cut that a fourth installment is already in early development.
The first look premiered earlier this month at CinemaCon, where Fleischer's vision for revitalizing the franchise was praised. The original Now You See Me debuted in 2013, followed by the 2016 sequel.
Now You See Me: Now You Don't hits theaters on November 14, 2025.

"It's one of those you'll never forget": trailer drops for Jennifer Lopez's Kiss of the Spider Woman

Jennifer Lopez dazzles in the trailer for the upcoming movie musical Kiss of the Spider Woman, where she takes on the role of Ingrid Luna, a glamorous on-screen diva known for portraying a deadly 'spider woman.' The film, directed by Bill Condon and based on the stage musical by Terrence McNally, John Kander, and Fred Ebb, features Lopez as a character whose kiss can kill lovers. Set during Argentina's Dirty War in 1981, the story follows a gay hairdresser, Luis (Tonatiuh), imprisoned under oppressive conditions, who escapes through memories of Ingrid's films. His life changes when Valentin (Diego Luna), a Marxist revolutionary, is imprisoned in the same cell. Their unexpected friendship blossoms as they bond over music and cinema. The trailer showcases Lopez's vocal talent as she sings one of the musical's most iconic songs, 'Where You Are.' The film features 13 songs performed by Lopez, Tonatiuh, and Luna, with Condon, known for Dreamgirls, both directing and writing the screenplay. Producers for the film include Artists Equity, Barry Josephson, Tom Kirdahy, and Greg Yolen. Variety critic Peter Debruge praised Lopez's 'smoldering' performance, noting that it would likely attract audiences who may not typically enjoy musicals. However, Debruge highlighted newcomer Tonatiuh for his standout performance, finding both strength and vulnerability in his portrayal of Luis. Kiss of the Spider Woman premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January and is scheduled for theatrical release on October 10 via Lionsgate.

Blumhouse acquires Saw franchise rights from Twisted Pictures

Blumhouse is reportedly acquiring the rights to the Saw franchise from Twisted Pictures, marking a major shift in the future of the iconic horror series. According to Deadline, the deal will give Blumhouse ownership of Twisted Pictures' 50% stake in the franchise, while Lionsgate will retain its share and remain a production partner. This move comes after Saw XI was unexpectedly pulled from its planned September 26, 2025 release. Behind-the-scenes disputes between Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures had stalled production and left the fate of the franchise uncertain. With Blumhouse now stepping in, hopes for the return of the Saw series have been reignited. Although no new Saw movie is currently in development, the acquisition suggests Blumhouse has long-term plans for the franchise. Notably, the deal also reconnects Saw with co-creator James Wan. Thanks to the recent merger between Blumhouse and Wan's Atomic Monster production company, Wan is expected to have renewed involvement with the series he helped launch. The Saw franchise began in 2004 and became one of the most successful horror film series of all time. After a successful 10th installment, fans were anticipating Saw XI until development issues paused progress. While details remain scarce, industry insiders believe that Blumhouse's track record with horror franchises could breathe new life into Saw, potentially reuniting fans with the iconic Jigsaw in the near future. More updates are expected as the transition unfolds.
