The recruitment includes positions for doctors and nurses, as well as laboratory technicians, physiotherapists, Ayurvedic Medical Officers, Ayurvedic Drug Inspectors, and Deputy Superintendents for Hospitals.

The recruitment drive aims to fill 1,848 vacancies for doctors and 5,018 for nurses. Among the doctor positions, 1,227 are for General Duty Medical Officers (GDMOs), while the remaining 621 are for specialist doctors and assistant professors. For specialist roles, candidates must hold an MD/MS or a super-specialization degree like DM or MCh. The highest number of new appointments among assistant professors will be in General Medicine (48), Anesthesiology (47), and General Surgery (43).
Interested candidates can find detailed information on eligibility criteria, application procedures, and important dates by visiting the official WBHRB website. The online application process for General Duty Medical Officers and Staff Nurses commenced on August 13 and will continue until September 3, sources said.

What next after medical education?RGUHS plans career guidance cell
Bengaluru: Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) will launch a career guidance cell to facilitate skill training and provide information on job opportunities for its students. A recent syndicate meeting approved the formation of the cell, which is expected to be set up in the next three months. The cell will have different verticals. "There are various objectives that we would like to fulfil," said vice-chancellor Bhagavan BC. "Firstly, we want to provide information about all the courses available nationally and internationally so that students are aware of the possibilities after their graduation. They should be able to choose the right programme after they complete their courses," he said. You Can Also Check: Bengaluru AQI | Weather in Bengaluru | Bank Holidays in Bengaluru | Public Holidays in Bengaluru In the second vertical, the cell intends to connect the students to various industry bodies. As most students of D Pharm D, B Pharma and other allied programmes seek industrial placements and look for jobs all over the world, "we would like to guide them with the right information," he said. "But we will not place them. That is not our domain. We are not a placement agency. Our domain is to help them get the information," the vice-chancellor said. The third vertical is a finishing school. The cell will identify the relevant skills required for each of the courses. Students will be given personalised career advice. There will be workshops on attending interviews, developing resumes, group discussions, and preparing for debates. A proposed language lab is also expected to be part of the cell. The department of medical education had earlier announced plans to teach students various foreign languages, including English, Italian, German, French, and Japanese, to help them get jobs in foreign countries. "There are a lot of external agencies that students approach for learning foreign languages. Why should they waste money on them when we can facilitate it within the university for a nominal cost?" he said. The proposal is for the cell to work in a hybrid model so that students need not visit the campus physically every time. A committee will be formed to work out the nitty-gritty and appoint a university official as in-charge of the cell. RGUHS has around 1,500 colleges under its umbrella across various streams, including medical, dental, nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and other allied courses. There are 2.4 lakh students under its ambit. MSID:: 123236769 413 | Stay updated with the latest local news from your city on Times of India (TOI). PNN Bishkek [Kyrgyzstan], August 11: Avicenna International Medical University (AIMU), located in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, is gaining attention among Indian students seeking affordable, high-quality medical education abroad. With a curriculum aligned to India's National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines and degrees recognized by leading global medical bodies, the institution is positioning itself as a strong contender in the international medical education sector. The best part of AIMU is that the University is located in the heart of the Capital city, Bishkek, where the Founder of AIMU is of Indian origin and the University has massive infrastructure, including campus hospitals, hostels for Girls and boys, with Indian cuisine and 24/7 CCTV monitoring. University officials confirm that AIMU's MBBS program runs for 5.5 years, including the Compulsory Rotating Medical Internship (CRMI), meeting the eligibility requirements to practice in India. The program is delivered entirely in English, removing language barriers for Indian students. According to the administration, AIMU holds accreditations from several global authorities, including the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) in the USA, the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), the General Medical Council (GMC) in the UK, the Australian Medical Council (AMC), and the Medical Council of Canada (MCC). Its curriculum also complies with the latest FMGE/NEXT 2021 guidelines issued by the NMC in India. The university reports that more than 1,600 international students, including over 780 from India, are currently enrolled. Three batches of Indian students have already graduated and secured medical registration in India. "We have structured our academic system to be in line with Indian medical education, which makes the transition smoother for our students," said an AIMU representative. Facilities include on-campus FMGE/NEXT coaching, Indian faculty for regular classes, and advanced laboratories with simulation technology. Students also have access to dedicated accommodation, with separate hostels for male and female students, 24/7 caretakers, and Indian chefs providing home-style meals. Cultural festivals, sports events, and extracurricular activities are held regularly to maintain a familiar and engaging environment. The Kyrgyz government has also authorized AIMU graduates to practice in the country without a separate licensing exam, provided they complete the required one-year internship. AIMU maintains a transparent fee structure, with no hidden charges, and offers dedicated Indian support staff on campus. Officials state that the university continues to attract applicants due to its combination of academic quality, global recognition, and student support services.
