Marvel's"Avengers: Doomsday" and "Avengers: Secret Wars" Delayed
Disney has delayed the release of Marvel Studios' upcoming team-up features 'Avengers: Doomsday' and 'Avengers: Secret Wars.'
'Doomsday' is now set to debut on December 18, 2026, moving about seven months off of its originally slated date of May 1, 2026. To match, the follow-up 'Avengers: Secret Wars' is moving its release to December 17, 2027, after previously being set for May 7, 2027.
Disney announced both 'Avengers' delays Thursday afternoon, alongside a sweeping reorganization of its coming theatrical slate. Notably, the new calendar saw the studio remove several unannounced Marvel titles off of its calendar.
The date of February 13, 2026, previously slotted for an 'Untitled Marvel' project, has been removed from the schedule.
Meanwhile, the dates of Novemberv 6, 2026 and November 5, 2027 — also both previously set for 'Untitled Marvel' features — have been amended to simply 'Untitled Disney' films.
With those changes, 'Avengers: Doomsday' and Sony's 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' are now the only Marvel Cinematic Universe entries slated to hit theaters in 2026.
Moreover, the new pre-holiday December frame for both 'Avengers' installments is the same one that 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' launched on in 2021, which became one of the franchise's highest-grossing installments at $1.9 billion worldwide.
Additionally, there is now no theatrical Marvel feature slated to release between 'The Fantastic 4: First Steps' on July 25 and the fourth Tom Holland 'Spider-Man' installment on July 31, 2026 — more than a year later. It'll be the MCU's biggest gap between feature films since the COVID era gap between 2019's 'Spider-Man: Far From Home' and 2021's 'Black Widow.'
Disney has kept a few flags planted on 2028 dates for 'Untitled Marvel' features: February 18, May 5 and November 10.
Marvel Studios has also previously announced titles like 'Armor Wars' and 'Blade,' though neither film project currently has an official release date.
The notable decrease in theatrical Marvel features on the immediate horizon aligns with Disney CEO Bob Iger's strategy for the company's superhero features.
During an investor call, Iger shared that Marvel Studios had 'lost a little focus by making too much' between its tentpoles and various Disney+ series.
He continued, 'By consolidating a bit and having Marvel focus much more on their films, we believe that will result in better quality.'
'Doomsday' and 'Secret Wars' are both massive productions for Marvel Studios, featuring a sprawling cast that includes the MCU return of Robert Downey Jr. — this time playing the villainous Doctor Doom — as well as superhero teams from the 'Thunderbolts*' and 'Fantastic 4: First Steps' movies, and even reprisals from the 'X-Men' franchise, like Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.
'Doomsday' production has ramped up in recent weeks, with Downey sharing a photograph of himself and other cast members rolling out to see 'Thunderbolts*' to support their Marvel peers.

"Eyes of Wakanda" Drops Trailer
Yara Sameh The official trailer for 'Eyes of Wakanda,' a four-episode limited animated series executive produced by 'Black Panther' director Ryan Coogler, has been released. It will release on Disney+ on August 1. The upcoming show will be set in Wakanda, the home of the Black Panther which was extensively explored in Coogler's two Marvel movies. The show will follow 'the adventures of brave Wakandan warriors throughout history. In this globe-trotting adventure, the heroes must carry-out dangerous missions to retrieve Vibranium artifacts from the enemies of Wakanda. They are the Hatut Zaraze and this is their story.' The voice cast includes Winnie Harlow, Cress Williams, Patricia Belcher, Larry Herron, Adam Gold, Lynn Whitfield, Jacques Colimon, Jona Xiao, Isaac Robinson-Smith, Gary Anthony Williams, Zeke Alton, Steve Toussaint, and Anika Noni Rose. The last time fans saw Wakanda was in 2022's 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,' the sequel to Marvel's 2018 best picture nominee. That movie introduced the underwater world of Atlantis and featured the returns of Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong'o, Angela Bassett, Winston Duke, Danai Gurira and Martin Freeman. Wakandans have popped up in other places in the MCU, including an appearance by Ayo, played by Florence Kasumba, in the Disney+ series 'The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.' The second-in-command of the Dora Milaje, Ayo first appeared in 'Captain America: Civil War.' The 'Wakanda' series is the first in a multi-year overall TV deal with Coogler's Proximity production company and The Walt Disney Company, with other TV projects in currently in development for the MCU. 'Eyes of Wakanda' is helmed by director/executive producer Todd Harris, who was first a storyboard artist on 'Black Panther' and 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' then as an illustrator on 'Sinners' before directing 'Eyes of Wakanda.' The show is executive produced by Coogler, Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito, and Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt. The Fantastic Four: First Steps is in early contention for top spot at global box office
Marvel's latest superhero showing 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' made an early start to grossing millions, topping the North American box office in its previews, surpassing the US$22.5 million opening of rival DC's 'Superman'. The Fantastic Four: First Steps grossed $24 million in its opening weekend, with projections that it will generate a total opening weekend gross of between $100 million and $110 million, and between $190 million and $210 million from its global releases. The Marvel film, starring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, and Joseph Quinn, follows the release of Superman two weeks ago by Universal Studios, which was the highest-grossing film of 2025 so far. Marvel hopes to dominate the box office with its latest superhero showing, with revenues higher than Superman, which opened with $125 million in North America and $200 million worldwide, and seems to be the winning side for this summer. 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' still needs positive reviews and intensive promotion to boost its box office revenue, having cost over $200 million and exceeded $100 million in marketing costs. Hollywood reports indicate that the latest two Marvel films, 'Captain America: Brave New World', and 'Thunderbolts', performed less than expected when they were released this year. The former made $12 million in its previews and $85 million in its opening weekend, while the latter made $11.5 million in its previews and $76 million in its opening weekend. Both films incurred losses for Marvel, costing $180 million each. It has thus placed its hopes that the Fantastic Four will make up for it. Hollywood film analysts point to 'superhero fatigue'—the overproduction of superhero productions in a single season—as the reason for the decline in the box office for Marvel's previous two films. The company has already announced plans to produce fewer series and movies online, focusing on quality over quantity. The Fantastic Four: First Steps sees the titular superhero family forced to save their world from Galactus (Ralph Ineson), a planet-devouring savage, and his messenger, the Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). Critics have already lauded the film, which has received an 89% 'fresh' rating on Rotten Tomatoes, marking a promising start to its critical reception.

Demi Lovato Is Working on "Celebratory" New Dance Album
Yara Sameh Fans of Demi Lovato's pop music can come out of mourning who is returning with new album. According to Rolling Stone published Monday, Lovato is set to resurrect her mainstream influences on a dance-heavy new album, despite committing to a punk-rock pivot over the past few years. Though many details of the LP are still under wraps, the publication confirmed that the singer has been hard at work on a 'celebratory dance-pop album' with executive producer Zhone, who says that the former Disney star is a 'master in the studio.' 'It's been so inspiring working with Demi and experiencing her journey of continued leveling up,' he told Rolling Stone. 'This album is about letting inhibitions go, and we had so much fun making this music!' Zhone added. 'It really comes across throughout.' Led by an EDM-tinged single titled 'Fast' — which Lovato has been teasing via video snippets on social media — the upcoming full-length is expected to mark a return to the form of the Camp Rock alum's past pop-focused hits (think: 2015's 'Cool for the Summer' or 2017's 'Sorry Not Sorry'). It'll follow 2022's distinctly punk-rock effort "Holy Fvck". Shortly before releasing "Holy Fvck," Lovato commemorated the end of a pop-music era by posing solemnly in a photo with members of their team — including then-manager Scooter Braun — dressed all in black. 'A funeral for my pop music,' Lovato wrote at the time on Instagram. The star later doubled down on her pivot to rock music by releasing "Revamped," an album of past Lovato pop hits reimagined in the edgier genre. With the new album approaching, however, Lovato recently shared a video on TikTok poking fun at their past departure from the mainstream, writing, 'my pop music coming back to life after we held a funeral for it.' One major change in Lovato's personal life that has informed her musical homecoming is the vocalist's marriage to producer Jordan 'Jutes' Lutes,' according to RS. The pair tied the knot this past May. 'Over the past few years, Demi has found love, joy, and newfound confidence, making the choice to approach life with much more lightness and fun,' one unnamed source reportedly told the publication. 'She took this sentiment into the studio, which can be felt in every track on this celebratory dance-pop album.' Though Lovato always had an edgier sound than many of their fellow Disney Channel-bred pop stars, the performer shone in the pop-music landscape before transitioning away to rock. From 2008's debut LP "Don't Forget" to 2021's Dancing With the Devil, all seven of Lovato's studio albums leading up to Holy Fvck charted in the top 5 of the Billboard 200. Lovato has also scored a number of Hot 100 hits over the course of her pop career, including top 10 entries 'Heart Attack' and 'Skyscraper.' read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks
