CM Punk accepts Paul Heyman's challenge, only to be ambushed by a ‘pinked-out' Seth Rollins; their fate for Clash In Paris has been decided

Indian Express2 days ago
The wheels are moving, and the WWE is trying to gain some serious momentum post the release of their new documentary Unreal on Netflix. The company's next PLE is Clash In Paris, and during this week's episode of Raw, the fans were informed about probably the most important match on the card, for the heavyweight championship. Currently the title is held by Seth Rollins, who won it after he cashed in his MITB contract during Summerslam. CM Punk had just gone through a gruelling match and was in no condition to play it back one more time. Rollins made quick work of him and snatched the title, making it his sixth world championship.
During Raw, Punk came out to the ring and demanded his title shot, only to be interrupted by LA Knight, whose match against Rollins ended in no contest because Punk attacked the champion. As both men continued the argument, Paul Heyman came out to set up a match between the teams of Bronson Reed-Bron Breakker and CM Punk-LA Knight. The duo accepted the challenge, and they almost got a victory out of it when Seth showed up to the ring and attacked Punk, forcing the referee to call off the match. But as Seth and his crew started walking away from the ring, Raw manager Adam Pearce walked out and announced that Seth will now have to defend his title against Punk, Knight and Jey Uso at the Clash In Paris.

With this development, WWE has now announced three matches for their PLE in Paris, including Naomi vs Stephanie Vaquer for the Women's Championship and John Cena vs Logan Paul. The latter of the three matches will presumably serve as a bridge in Cena's ongoing feud with Brock Lesnar, who attacked him after SummerSlam ended. Cena shocked fans before the event when he turned to the good side once again and became a babyface (good guy). Even though Cena lost the championship to Cody Rhodes during SummerSlam, the support from the fans only grew, as the entire WWE Universe slowly realized they were witnessing the final matches of the 17-time world champion.
John Cena has been on his farewell tour this year and will officially retire from in-ring performances come December. Since announcing his retirement, Cena has wrestled several of his marquee opponents, such as CM Punk, Randy Orton, and Cody Rhodes, and he even won the Elimination Chamber. The Trainwreck actor made history during Wrestlemania 41, as he broke legend Ric Flair's record of holding 16 world championships. With only a handful of events left in the year, the story of Brock Lesnar vs Cena makes sense, and beating Logan Paul on his way could prove to be the right strategy for the company and Cena himself.

5 WWE superstars Brock Lesnar can face after John Cena

Image via WWE The wrestling world was left in shock with the return of Brock Lesnar to WWE after two years at the end of SummerSlam 2025. The Beast Incarnate nailed John Cena with a thunderous F-5 to close the show. This planted the early seeds for a potential clash between the two megastars of WWE. However, once Lesnar is done battling The Cenation Leader one last time, here are the top five opponents he can battle inside the squared circle: 5. Jacob Fatu Amidst Brock Lesnar's absence from WWE for two years, the company saw the quick rise of Jacob Fatu as a popular attraction. His aggression and mean streak are exactly what a superstar needs to combat the fury of Lesnar in the ring. So a match between The Beast and The Samoan Werewolf would be nothing short of a hard-hitting showdown to witness. 4. Drew McIntyre Drew McIntyre is among the few in-ring competitors who have scored monumental wins over Brock Lesnar in WWE. The Scottish Warrior slayed The Beast at WrestleMania 36 for the WWE title. Following that, the duo never squared off in a one-on-one match. With Lesnar returning to WWE, he could have his revenge on McIntyre in a blockbuster match to get some measure of payback. 3. CM Punk Brock Lesnar made his return to WWE at SummerSlam 2025. Twelve years earlier, he faced CM Punk in a huge showdown at the same event, billed as 'The Best vs The Beast.' With both former Paul Heyman Guys in the company now, WWE could have a rerun of this collision as the main event match for any major WWE PLE. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Free P2,000 GCash eGift UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo 2. Bron Breakker The man who has been billed as the 'Next Big Thing,' much like Brock Lesnar was in 2002, is Bron Breakker. Interestingly, it was Breakker who reportedly replaced Lesnar in the 2024 Royal Rumble after his name was linked to the Vince McMahon Janel Grant case. Moreover, Breakker has the same dominance and power that Lesnar possesses. So a clash between these two powerhouses would be a top draw and a significant push in the rising career of the young Steiner. 1. Gunther One match that the WWE Universe has been clamouring to see is Brock Lesnar vs Gunther. The match was reportedly set in stone to take place at WrestleMania 40 before the aforementioned allegations led to Lesnar's hiatus from WWE for two years. However, now that The Beast is back, a collision against Gunther should take place. The fans already got a preview of their match inside the 2023 Royal Rumble match, so a full-fledged match would be a significant attraction for any top WWE Premium Live Event. 'Roja' actress Madhoo recalls how 'South cinema' was mocked earlier in Bollywood, reveals how 'WAR 2' actor Jr NTR changed his look for 'Nannaku Prematho' because she teased him

Jr NTR is wooring the audience at the moment with his recent release 'WAR 2' which sees him along with Hrithik Roshan. The film has clashed with Rajinikanth's 'Coolie'. While 'WAR 2' sees Jr NTR in a very new avatar, he also left audiences surprised with his 2016 hit 'Nannaku Prematho' which saw the Telugu star in a completely new look, playing the charming Abhiram. The film was also a hit at the box office. But few know that his signature 'mohawk' hairstyle in the film was actually changed because co-star Madhoo teased him about it. In a chat with Galatta India, Madhoo known for movies like 'Roja' recalled her very first meeting with NTR during the shoot in Spain. 'I did a film called Nannaku Prematho with him. In that film, he had mohawk hairstyle. When we went to shoot for the first time in Spain, as soon as I saw him, I said, 'Okay, so this is the look of the hero!' So, he changed himself completely. He is very wonderful,' she shared. The conversation then shifted to how South cinema was once mocked by Bollywood and Hindi-speaking audiences — often reduced to memes and jokes. 'Pehle jo mazaak udaaya jaata tha, uss cheez se mujhe bahut dukh hota tha. Even I had to face this during my childhood. 'Ae Madrasan aa gayi', it had a negative tonality. What do you mean by that?' Madhoo revealed. She added, 'We are Indians. Why do we make fun of each other? But, all this was accepted at that time, hence we didn't react much. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like She Mixed Pink Salt With This - Now She Can't Stop Losing Weight Your Health Undo But, we all succumbed to it. I didn't know how to fight it at that time. So, we used to think how to improve our Hindi fluency, so that people shouldn't get to know from my accent that I am a South Indian.' Now, Madhoo says the tables have turned, and she embraces her roots without hesitation. 'I don't feel ashamed now. If I say something wrong in Hindi or there's a thickness of South Indian in my accent, I take pride in that. Yes, I am a South Indian and I am speaking Hindi. If you have a problem with my Hindi, then no problem, I can learn it. But when I was young, I was scared of the South Indian tag. There was a fear. I even tried to learn Urdu,' she admitted. The 'Phool Aur Kaante' star also shared that she had originally dreamed of starting her career in Bollywood. 'Even when I was wanting to become an actor, I wanted to star in Hindi films. Destiny made me go towards South cinema, but my design wasn't to be there. But today, I am very proud. I consider myself an Indian film actor now,' she said. Madhoo currently has multiple projects lined up - Hansal Mehta's next Netflix original, a theatrical film with Manoj Bajpayee , and a Telugu Amazon Original series. John Cena's Final WWE Match To Clash With AEW Show? Report Makes Big Claim

The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) are all set to take a major step in their rivalry against All Elite Wrestling (AEW). The two companies have been competing for ratings for quite some time now with counter-programming becoming more common in the recent past. According to media reports, John Cena's final match for WWE can clash with AEW Worlds End on December 27. Taking to Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez said that the match will initially planned for early December. However, there can be some change in plans with WWE pitting the massive match against the AEW event. 'Originally, the final John Cena match was going to be in early December, Saturday Night's Main Event,' Alvarez said. 'And this is not confirmed, okay, but it does look like there is now discussion that the date will be moved so it will be head-to-head with AEW Worlds End.' 'We did talk about how there's going to be one more of these before the year was out, and I think they're going to try and put the final John Cena match on Saturday Night's Main Event in Boston head-to-head with Worlds End,' Alvarez added during the discussion. John Cena and Brock Lesnar will be headlining a premium event that will be hold on the same day as AEW All Out 2025. The event is expected to take place in Indianapolis on September 20. While Cena will be facing Logan Paul at Clash In Paris, reports claim that the match is aimed to keep Brock out of the spotlight before the much-anticipated match. 'It can change, but the main event for this [unnamed, unannounced Sept. 20 WWE] show is Brock Lesnar and John Cena. So it's a big one. Which is why Brock's not in Paris, is because of this. They wanted him for this show, not for the Paris show. And that's where Logan Paul got the gig,' Dave Meltzer reported.
