Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown and Vikings WR Justin Jefferson are on the same wavelength
Both the Minnesota Vikings of Justin Jefferson and the Detroit Lions of Amon-Ra St. Brown scored 14-2 in the 2024 NFL season. They were up against each other next. Whoever won would get a bye week and home-field advantage throughout the postseason.
But who lost? Had to compete again with a 10-7(Tampa Bay Buccaneers) or 9-8(Atlanta Falcons) in the wild-card round and start their playoff journey. It seems all too confusing. However, the wide receivers who faced it last year tried their level best to voice out their concerns.
Amon-Ra St. Brown was not happy with the NFL Playoffs rule
Back in January 2025, Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown wanted the NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell, to change NFL rules. Which rule in particular? He voiced his opinion on his own podcast–St.
Brown Podcast, 'It's crazy. I think the rule should be changed. Obviously, if you win the division, you should obviously make a playoff spot. But having a 14-win team having to go on the road is kind of crazy. But I guess I don't make the rules.
Hopeful we can get a win and get home-field advantage, but whatever happens, we(Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings) both have a spot in the playoffs–so we might see each other again after this game.'

Seven months later, Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson speaks the same language.
Justin Jefferson wants
wild-card teams
to have a home-field advantage
Talking to Jason Fitz of Yahoo Sports, the wide receiver said, 'With the season that we had last year, to go, and play with–it definitely was a little different. It definitely needs to be taken into consideration and something that we need to figure out because having 14 wins normally–doesn't go to play away in the playoffs. We definitely had the opportunity to play home-field advantage, with the last game in Detroit, but even losing that, we still felt like we should have had home-field advantage.
But even not having home-field advantage is never an excuse. It's something we had to deal with, and we wish we had home-field advantage, but it is what it is.'

Official's error costs India likely medal
BENGALURU: A shocking error by a team official accompanying the Indian squad has allegedly denied a promising Indian athlete a likely podium finish at the FISU World University Games now on in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany. Seema, one of India's rising long-distance runners, had trained hard and was all set to start Monday's women's 10,000m final when she realised to her horror that her name was missing from the start list. She alerted the Indian team officials, who were also shocked at the turn of events. 'It appears that while reconfirming the participation of the athletes to the organisers, through the electronic data sheet, the athletics official at the venue clicked the wrong box. There were two boxes — participating and not participating — and the official could have ticked the wrong box,' sources told TOI. As per the entry list, the 24-year-old had clocked a personal and season best time of 32:14.66s. 'It's a matter of shame that our athletes' names are not there. Athletes from Pakistan and Sri Lanka are in the start list. Three of us were to compete in the 10,000m — Anjali Devi , Nirmala and me — but our names were missing from the start list,' Seema told TOI. Catch Rani Rampal's inspiring story on Game On, Episode 4. IND vs ENG: 'McCullum's ‘too nice' jibe lit fire under England on Day 5'
MANCHESTER, ENGLAND - JULY 21: Jamie Smith, Gus Atkinson, Ben Stokes and Harry Brook of England listen to coach Brendon McCullum ahead of a net session at Emirates Old Trafford on July 21, 2025 in Manchester, England. (Photo by) Harry Brook revealed what fired up England's players on Day 5 of the Lord's Test against India. There were more than a few talking points during England's 22-run win over India at Lord's, but Brook said the "too nice" comment by head coach Brendon McCullum gave Ben Stokes and co. the extra motivation they needed. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! 'He actually said a few days before that we are too nice sometimes,' Brook told BBC Sport. 'I brought it up the night before the last day: 'Baz said the other day we're too nice. I think tomorrow is the perfect opportunity to really get stuck into them.' 'It came at the perfect time. The opportunity that arose for us to not be the nice guys was because of what they did the night before. Harry Brook press conference: On why India are scared, on field fights at Lord's and more 'We watched two of our guys out there on their own, going back at the Indians after they were going at them. We just thought, 'we're not standing for that.' 'We had a conversation and said, 'it's time to not be those nice guys that we have been before.'' Brook, who made his Test debut under McCullum and has now been appointed England's white-ball captain, explained why England are trying to shed the 'nice guys' tag. Poll Do you agree with Brendon McCullum's assessment that the team was 'too nice'? Yes, I agree No, I disagree 'At Lord's, we had a conversation and thought it was the perfect opportunity to stop being the nice guys we've been for the past three years,' he said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like The Top 25 Most Beautiful Women In The World Articles Vally Undo 'To go out there and put them under more pressure than what they've probably faced before.
