Lindsay Lohan reveals advice from Jamie Lee Curtis ahead of ‘Freakier Friday' sequel

Lindsay Lohan is reflecting on timeless advice she received from Jamie Lee Curtis while filming the 2003 Disney hit Freaky Friday.
Now 39, Lohan opened up at the NYC screening of their upcoming sequel Freakier Friday, which hits theaters August 8.
'She said, 'How you show up on set is how the whole crew feels. You control the energy that goes on set, so always bring your best self,'' Lohan shared, recalling Curtis' impact during her early years in Hollywood.
The original Freaky Friday featured the two as a mother-daughter duo who magically switch bodies. Over two decades later, the sequel takes things further, with a four-way body-swap involving Lohan's on-screen daughter and Curtis' soon-to-be step-granddaughter.
Lohan admitted returning to the franchise was deeply emotional. 'It's very full circle for me,' she said. 'It was just a really exciting day when we were first there, all together.'
Now a mother herself, Lohan shares 2-year-old son Luai with her husband, Bader Shammas, whom she married in 2022. When asked about motherhood, the Mean Girls star beamed, 'All of it! There's not one favorite part, it's all of it.'
Curtis, 66, also reflected on Lohan's growth. 'Lindsay being grown up is something I've watched happen… I watched her get married, I watched her have a baby… and it's beautiful to see.'
The reunion marks not just a cinematic comeback, but a personal milestone for both stars, who have maintained a 20-year friendship off-screen.

What's tearing Nick and Judy apart in 'Zootopia 2' trailer?

Disney has finally released the full trailer for Zootopia 2, and it's raising more questions than answers, especially about the dynamic between Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. The buddy-cop duo, once inseparable, now finds their partnership under official scrutiny, landing them in a hilariously tense 'Partners in Crisis' therapy programme. While fans may have long shipped the rabbit-fox duo romantically, the sequel keeps things professional, sort of. In the trailer, Chief Bogo (voiced by Idris Elba) assigns them to counselling, sparking comedic friction and underlying tension. But the therapy subplot isn't just fluff. Soon after, a dangerous new case involving a venomous snake drags them into a dark conspiracy unfolding in Zootopia's underbelly. Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman reprise their beloved roles as Judy and Nick. They're joined by returning favourites like Bonnie Hunt, Nate Torrence, Jenny Slate, Alan Tudyk, and even Tommy Chong. New faces are teased but still largely under wraps, fuelling speculation online about surprise cameos or fresh villains. The film's visuals are more textured and stylised, hinting at a slightly more mature tone. There's still plenty of slapstick humour, but it's layered with themes of trust, growth, and fractured alliances. One scene shows Judy storming out of a counselling session, while Nick mutters, 'Maybe we're just not cut out for this anymore.' With Zootopia 2 set to hit cinemas on 26 November 2025, fan theories are already spinning. Some believe the snake may be a metaphor for betrayal. Others are hoping for a full romantic confession between the leads. Whether this sequel deepens the lore or disrupts the friendship at its core, one thing is clear: not everything in Zootopia is as harmonious as it seems.

Jamie Lee Curtis critiques cosmetic beauty standards and AI filters in new interview

Jamie Lee Curtis has expressed concern about the long-term impact of the cosmetic industry on women's perceptions of ageing and beauty. In a recent interview with The Guardian, Curtis criticised the growing trend of surgical and digital appearance alteration, calling it a 'disfigurement of generations of predominantly women.' The 66-year-old actress, known for her roles in Freaky Friday and Halloween, stated she has used strong language, including the word 'genocide,' to describe what she sees as the erasure of natural human appearance. She clarified that while this term is provocative, it reflects her deep concern about societal pressures on women to change how they look. Curtis also criticised the influence of artificial intelligence and beauty filters, explaining that such tools contribute to unrealistic standards. 'Better is fake,' she said, highlighting how digitally enhanced images can subtly alter self-perception and public expectations. Despite her strong stance, Curtis emphasised she does not criticise individuals who choose cosmetic procedures. 'It's not my job to give my opinion; it's none of my business,' she noted, adding that once people begin altering their appearance, the process can become difficult to stop. Curtis has previously discussed ageing in public life, including during a 2024 appearance on Today, where she described embracing her natural appearance as a mark of maturity. She emphasised the importance of being honest about thoughts and feelings as part of growing older.
