Synopsis
Priyanka Chopra Jonas recently shared a humorous story about avoiding her least favorite chore, 'laundry' by tricking her mother-in-law, Denise Jonas, into doing it for her. In a recent interview, the global icon revealed her struggle with the complexities of washing clothes, offering fans a relatable glimpse into her domestic life beyond the glamour.
In a candid interview Priyanka Chopra Jonas confessed she cleverly let her mother-in-law Denise Miller Jonas take over her laundry duties under the guise of learning. (Image: Instagram/ Nick Jonas) Priyanka Chopra Jonas may have a shelf full of accolades, a thriving acting career across continents, and the title of Miss World 2000 under her belt — but when it comes to household chores, there's one task she's hilariously determined to avoid: laundry. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the 42-year-old actress and producer candidly confessed that despite her polished public persona, the washing machine remains her personal nemesis. 'Laundry is a hard chore for me. I find it tough,' she said. 'I'll always try to get someone else to do it.' And as it turns out, that 'someone' happened to be none other than her mother-in-law, Denise Miller-Jonas.Sharing a glimpse into their close-knit relationship, Priyanka revealed that her mother-in-law once offered to teach her the ropes of laundry. But in a twist worthy of a sitcom, Chopra Jonas had a different plan. 'That was just my way of getting her to do my laundry for me!' she laughed, admitting that she let the tutorial play out just long enough before surrendering the job to Denise. 'I can steam an iron, I can fold,' she clarified. 'But just getting through the process of laundry is just really tough. Too many buttons, too many choices, too many little things…'
Following the playful confession, Priyanka joked she needed to make a phone call right away. 'I'm going to call her right now and tell her I said this. 'Just want you to know!'' she added, laughing. Since marrying Nick Jonas in 2018, Priyanka has maintained a warm and visible bond with the Jonas family. Denise, in particular, has often appeared in candid social media moments featuring the couple's three-year-old daughter, Malti Marie. The affection is mutual. Back in 2023, on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Priyanka shared a touching moment when Denise recalled watching the young Indian contestant win the Miss World pageant in 2000. At the time, Nick was just seven years old, while Priyanka was seventeen. 'My mother-in-law was like, 'I remember watching you when you won,'' Priyanka said, still awestruck at how time — and fate — brought their worlds together. 'He was sitting there, and he was watching. Unfathomable.'While she may avoid the spin cycle at home, Priyanka Chopra Jonas continues to be in constant motion professionally. Her latest action-comedy Heads of State is now streaming on Prime Video, featuring John Cena as the U.S. president and Idris Elba as the U.K. prime minister. Directed by Ilya Naishuller, the film is yet another addition to her increasingly diverse filmography.
Up next, Chopra Jonas will be seen in The Bluff alongside Karl Urban and Judgment Day, co-starring Zac Efron and Will Ferrell — both projects that signal her growing influence in global cinema. But amid all the Hollywood action, it's the quieter, personal anecdotes — like tricking your mother-in-law into doing the laundry — that remind fans why Priyanka remains one of the most relatable stars.

FIFA celebrates MS Dhoni's birthday with iconic no. 7 tribute on Instagram: ‘Happy Thala day'

In a surprising but heartfelt birthday salute, FIFA World Cup's official Instagram account celebrated India's cricket legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni on his 43rd birthday on Monday (July 7) by featuring three of football's most iconic superstars—Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, and Son Heung-min—all shown wearing their international team jerseys with the number 7 written on the back. The post, captioned simply with 'Happy Thala day', underscores the universal reverence for the number 7—and its deep resonance with MSD himself. FIFA World Cup wished MS Dhoni on his 43rd birthday Although not featuring MSD's own image, the post is a symbolic nod: highlighting that across sports, number 7 signifies greatness. Cristiano Ronaldo has worn the number 7 for his national team and the various clubs he has played for, where it became a defining part of his identity . David Beckham carried the same legacy, inheriting the famous No. 7 jersey for both England and Manchester United, and making it his own . Meanwhile, Son Heung-min—South Korean football's talisman—also wears the number 7 on the international stage. For MS Dhoni's fans, the symbolism wasn't lost. July 7 marks not just the birth of the former India captain, but what is popularly known as Thala Day—a fan-made annual celebration of the man who led India to World Cup victories and left an indelible mark on Indian cricket. In Tamil, Thala means leader or head, and the nickname was affectionately given to MSD by fans of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the IPL franchise he captained. Over the years, it has become a title as revered as any of his cricketing achievements. The number 7 holds deep personal significance for MSD. Born on July 7 in 1981, he chose it as his jersey number early in his international career and has worn it ever since. More than just a number, it became a symbol of his calm under pressure, unmatched finishing skills, and leadership across formats. Even in retirement from international cricket, the number remains central to his identity—etched into fan chants, merchandise, and pop culture. FIFA's gesture, subtle as it was, struck a chord with fans who saw it as a respectful nod from the world's biggest football brand to one of cricket's most iconic figures. By spotlighting the universal legacy of the number 7—represented in football by global stars like Cristiano, David, and Son—the post indirectly honoured MSD's impact in the cricketing world.

Glow & Lovely empowers women influencers in new campaign

Glow & Lovely , one of India's skincare brands, has unveiled a new chapter with ' Apni Roshni Baahar La ' (Bring Out Your Inner Light), a nationwide movement designed to champion and enable the next generation of women influencers . With this initiative, the brand introduces an empowering narrative — one that celebrates visibility, voice and influence of young Indian women. At the core of this movement is The Glow Up Academy , a first-of-its-kind creator-upskilling platform with a bold ambition: to train and nurture one digital creator in each of India's 19,101 PIN codes. Through structured modules, mentorship, and real-world exposure, the Academy will equip aspiring women with the skills to build personal brands, create compelling content, and thrive in the creator economy . Glow and Lovely's campaign, created by Ogilvy Mumbai , is brought to life by a collective of women creators who exemplify the spirit of 'Apni Roshni Baahar La'. The campaign features the journeys of creators Shehnaaz Gill, Jannat Zubair, Nabha Natesh, Larissa D'Sa, Avneet Kaur, Shreya Priyam and Chum Darang. Each of them brings their unique story, voice and influence to the fore. Together, they represent a growing movement of women rewriting the rules of self-expression in India from metros to small towns. Launching with a social-first film, the campaign challenges conventional definitions of what it means to be an 'influencer'. Today's influence is not about creating content to 'fit in', it's about standing out. It isn't about just sparking attention, but about owning your story, showing up unapologetically, and building a following with purpose. Harman Dhillon, executive director, beauty and wellbeing, Hindustan Unilever Limited said, 'With 'Apni Roshni Baahar La', we are reframing the definition of influence to one that is rooted in authenticity, courage and impact. We believe that every woman has the potential to build her own identity and this campaign, along with The Glow Up Academy, is our commitment to enable her and help her shine.' Anurag Agnihotri, chief creative officer, Ogilvy India (West), added, 'This idea was born from a simple truth that every woman carries a light the world needs to see. Today, influence is not simply about her simply gaining status; it's how she uses her authentic narrative to shape culture, claim her space, and inspire others to do the same. 'Apni Roshni Baahar La' is our mirror to every woman: your light is enough, now let it lead.' The campaign is live across Instagram, YouTube, and other digital platforms, supported by influencer collaborations, regional content rollouts and on-ground outreach initiatives through The Glow Up Academy.
