Liev Schreiber Supports His Trans Daughter, Kai
In a new interview with Variety, the X-Men star revealed that Kai never actually sat down and told him and Naomi that she's trans. 'Kai was always who Kai is,' he said, recalling that 'the most profound moment was her asking us to change her pronouns.' 'To be honest with you, it didn't feel like that big of a deal to me only because Kai had been so feminine for so long.'
Liev and Naomi also share a 17-year-old son named Sasha. Since their separation in 2016, the exes appear to have maintained a strong coparenting relationship.
Kai is beginning to make a name for herself in the modeling world, having recently walked the runway for Valentino during Paris Fashion Week. Praising his daughter, Liev said, 'Kai is such a fighter. It's important that she goes, 'Hey, I am trans,' and, 'Look at me.''
In 2025, uplifting the trans community is more important than ever, and so, Kai, Liev, and his wife, Taylor Neisen, will be among those supporting the Ali Forney Center at the A Place At The Table Gala this week in New York. For context, the Ali Forney Center is an important organization that provides stability, housing, and support to LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness.
Talking about why their involvement with the organization is so necessary, Liev said: 'This isn't just about representing the trans community. This is actually a community of people who don't have great resources, who don't have access to help, who aren't being protected and looked after by their families. These are people who are being rejected. These are people who are experiencing the harshest version of humanity that we can offer, and some of them are not surviving it.'
'We got to bear that in mind when we go out there and glam ourselves up and get ready to be seen, you know? That what we're doing is actually raising money for a community that desperately needs it,' he continued.
As you may have seen, Liev's comments come shortly after Robert De Niro made headlines for his similarly brilliant comments of support towards his daughter, Airyn, who publicly came out as trans last week. Notably, when asked by Variety to offer advice to other parents of trans children, Liev was cautious of making generalizations. 'I don't know the answer for your kid,' he responded, 'I don't know what it's like for you to be a trans dad. I don't know how you were brought up. I don't know what religion you encountered or what your spirituality is. And for me to tell you what I think about my kid feels like an overstep.'
'I guess if I would say anything to someone who's having trouble with their trans teen or their adolescent trans kid it's, 'Teenagers are a headache. They're hard.' It doesn't matter whether they're trans or not because you'll come out of this,' he added. 'But a trans teen is going to be a teen. They're such a pain so much of the time, and Kai is as feisty and outspoken as they come.'
That is one proud father! You can find Liev's full interview with Variety here.

'Wolfenstein' TV series based on games in the works: 'The story of killing Nazis is evergreen'
What a logline! A Wolfenstein TV series based on the popular video games is coming our way, and even more eye-catching is the official logline that accompanies the news. Instead of a lengthy description of what the show will be, it simply states: "The story of killing Nazis is evergreen." (Truly, no notes.) Wolfenstein is a series of shooter games that depict an alternate history. They largely focus on the character of William "B.J." Blazkowicz, a U.S. solider during World War II who goes behind enemy lines and discovers that the Nazis are using bizarre experiments and the occult in an attempt to shift the war in their favor. The first game, Castle Wolfenstein, released in 1981. The most recent installments are 2019's Wolfenstein: Youngblood and the VR release Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot. Variety first reported the news of the TV adaption, which was confirmed by the involved parties on social media. Patrick Somerville of Station Eleven and Maniac is attached as the show's creator, writer, executive producer, and showrunner for Amazon MGM Studios. Also on board as EPs are Jonah Nolan, Lisa Joy, and Athena Wickham from Kilter Films, which produces Amazon's hit Fallout game-to-TV adaptation. On the gaming side, Jerk Gustafsson of Wolfenstein developer MachineGames will executive-produce alongside James Altman of Keyframe Films. A film version of Wolfenstein was previously announced back in 2012, though it never took off. It should also be noted that Amazon is fully leaning into adapting video games as high-profile series. After Fallout, the company also have its sights on Mass Effect, God of War, and Warhammer 40,000, the latter starring Henry Cavill. Read the original article on Entertainment Weekly

Amazon is developing a Wolfenstein TV show
Following the success of Fallout , Amazon is turning its attention to another video game adaptation. The company is reportedly developing a series based on the Wolfenstein franchise with the help of some of the creative team behind Fallout , according to Variety . The details of how the Wolfenstein show will adapt the alternate history action of the games are still under wraps, but the subject matter remains unfortunately timely. The show's logline is "The story of killing Nazis is evergreen," according to Variety , which seems like a direct acknowledgement of that fact. Patrick Somerville, the writer and showrunner of Station Eleven , will reportedly serve as the writer of the Wolfenstein adaptation, with Lisa Joy, Athena Wickham and Jonathan Nolan producing the show through their company Kilter Films. The production company also made the adaptation of the William Gibson's The Peripheral for Amazon, and currently produces Fallout. While it might make sense to pair a new show with a brand new Wolfenstein game, the series has effectively been on hold since 2019. MachineGames, the Microsoft-owned developer of the last five Wolfenstein games, hasn't produced a new entry since 2019's Wolfenstein: Youngblood and Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot . The studio released Indiana Jones and the Great Circle in December 2024. Given the tumultuous state of Microsoft's Xbox division, the series could be your best bet for getting more Wolfenstein, assuming Amazon decides to move forward.
