‘One of the best creative teams in the business': NBC orders Tracy Morgan, Daniel Radcliffe comedy from '30 Rock' producers
A reunion of 30 Rock alums is officially a go at NBC.
The network has given a series order to The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, created by Tina Fey and starring Tracy Morgan and Daniel Radcliffe. The comedy, which was first announced in March, follows Reggie Dinkins (Morgan), a disgraced football player trying to rehabilitate his image and make it into the Hall of Fame. Radcliffe plays Arthur Tobin, a filmmaker who moves in with Reggie to make an immersive documentary about the former superstar running back.

The series reunites Fey and Morgan, who starred together on seven seasons of 30 Rock, along with fellow 30 Rock alums Robert Carlock and Sam Means, who will serve as executive producers alongside Fey and Morgan. Carlock and Means co-wrote the pilot.
During NBCU's Upfront presentation on Monday, Morgan said The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins has "one of the best creative teams in the business. Tina Fey, Robert Carlock, or as I like to call him Coca-Cola, and me." Radcliffe, who worked with Fey, Carlock, and Means on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, added that he is "very excited to be making my broadcast debut." The duo then introduced the trailer, which has not been publicly released.
The cast also includes Erika Alexander, Bobby Moynihan, Precious Way, and Jalyn Hall.
The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins will air sometime next season, but a premiere date has not been set. It could air as early as the fall on Mondays at 8:30 p.m., following St. Denis Medical, or Fridays at 8:30 p.m., following Happy's Place. The show and two pilots that have not been filmed yet — Stumble, from Jeff and Liz Astrof, and an untitled series from Sierra Teller Ornelas — are all contenders for those two slots. NBC will make a decision later on.
Should The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins air in the fall, that'll make it eligible for the winter awards, where it could build momentum toward the 2026 Emmys. But if it's a midseason premiere, it'll start its awards campaign with the Emmys.
30 Rock won 16 Emmys over the course of its seven-season run, including three straight Best Comedy Series prizes. Fey, a nine-time Emmy winner who is in contention this year for The Four Seasons, won for her turn as Liz Lemon in 2008, and Morgan received a Best Comedy Supporting Actor bid for his performance as Tracy Jordan in 2009.

TV's awards season kicks off with honors for Jenny Slate, ‘Adolescence' at Gotham Awards
This year's Gothams awarded critical and commercial faves. While ' Advertisement Most intriguing is what happened in the limited series categories. As could've been expected, 'Adolescence' dominated, winning Breakthrough Limited Series, Outstanding Lead Performance for co-creator Stephen Graham, and Outstanding Supporting Performance for Owen Cooper. But the jury for the supporting category nonetheless made the choice to have Cooper share his award with Milton native Jenny Slate, whose turn in ' Advertisement It'd take a lot for any show to topple 'Adolescence' given its enormous impact and the fact that clean sweeps have recently become an Emmys norm (e.g. domination by shows like 'The Bear,' 'Ted Lasso,' and 'Shōgun'). But the Gothams making room for Slate is a welcome reminder that there are always other shows that richly deserve recognition. Hopefully, the Emmys voters remember as much come nomination time.

It's past time for the Saints to honor the 'Dome Patrol' with Superdome statues
It's past time for the Saints to honor the 'Dome Patrol' with Superdome statues Hall of Fame linebacker Sam Mills would've turned 66 on Tuesday Legendary former New Orleans Saints linebacker Sam Mills would have turned 66 on Tuesday, June 3, and he's remembered fondly by many who knew him -- in two different NFL cities. After leading the great "Dome Patrol" defenses with the Saints, Mills took on a new challenge as a member of the expansion-era Carolina Panthers, first as a player and later as a coach. A life-size (5-foot-9) bronze statue in his likeness stands vigilant outside the Panthers' home stadium in Charlotte. It's well past time the Saints honor Mills and his teammates in that legendary four-man linebacker corps with a commemoration of their own. Two of them have already passed away. Mills died in 2005 and Vaughan Johnson passed in 2019, which left Rickey Jackson and Pat Swilling as the two surviving members. People should be given their flowers when they're still here to accept them and see how they're appreciated. Several statues already surround the Caesars Superdome. In 2014, a statue depicting the team's late owner Tom Benson hoisting the Lombardi Trophy began to overlook Champions Square. Since 2012, the famous "Rebirth" monument highlighting Steve Gleason's blocked punt in the first Saints home game after Hurricane Katrina can be found at the southwest corner of the plaza. The Superdome Vietnam Memorial has stood on the Poydras Street side since 1984. There's plenty of room for a space to honor the "Dome Patrol." Just look at what they accomplished together. All four linebackers were selected for the Pro Bowl in 1992, and to this day three of them rank in the top three solo tackles leaders for the Saints -- Jackson first (1,104), Mills second (894), and Johnson third (664), with Swilling, who played the fewest games in New Orleans of the bunch, ranking 14th (354). The group combined for 18 Pro Bowl nods and 12 spots on the All-Pro teams. They have all been inducted to the Saints Hall of Fame and the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame, too. Jackson was inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010 with Mills joining him posthumously in 2022. Swilling has gained a lot of support as a senior candidate. They gave Saints fans something to cheer for when the team really, really needed it. We're in a similar spot today with a brutal playoff drought and organizational upheaval.

Miami bar that threw a watch party for hometown hero Tom Llamas makes the news
You know what they say. You can take the guy out of Miami ... While Tom Llamas was prepping for his prime-time debut taking over 'NBC Nightly News' on Monday, some folks from his hometown were ready to cheer him on from afar. Hours before the 6:30 p.m. newscast, a sign outside Duffy's Tavern beckoned, 'Tom Llamas, live tonight, NBC-6.' The iconic establishment near Coral Gables is right around where the 45 year old journalist grew up and attended Belen Jesuit Prepatory School. His parents still are customers, said owner Wayne Russell. 'Hometown boy done good,' said Russell, who added that once he put up the sign, 'everything went bananas.' Bananas meaning: Llamas shared a picture of the billboard his parents sent him on his Instagram and Al Roker mentioned it during his chat with his NBC colleague on the 'Today' show. 'There's one local bar down in Miami,' Roker asked. 'They're holding a watch party?!' 'This is funny .... We had nothing to do with this,' Llamas answered, adding he would be live at 30 Rock and the event was being held for his family who was unable to travel up north. 'I didn't know you can watch a newscast at a bar but they're gonna try and that means a lot to me.' 'Every time you say a certain word, you take a shot!' Roker joked to laughs. 'I'm excited for that,' said Llamas. 'Just seeing this in my hometown is great.' Russell said about 70 people turned out for the watch party, including lots of 'Belen people.' 'NBC Nightly News' also shared a snippet of the party showing the crowd watching Llamas' intro, which is drowned out by cheers and clapping. 'Everyone had their hands in the air when Tom came on,' he said. 'It was like a football game. He definitely has a lot of fans.' Last March, NBC announced that Llamas, who started out as an intern at Telemundo 51 at age 15, would be taking over for Lester Holt. 'It's an honor,' he told the Miami Herald last month. 'There's a lot of pressure, but I do think pressure is a privilege.'
