While talking to The Times U.K. about her recent roles in the film industry, Lohan expressed her disdain over being pushed into stereotypical roles and how she is not given a chance despite how she has proven herself time and time again.
She shared, 'I was so thrilled to work on 'A Prairie Home Companion', and yet even today I have to fight for stuff that is like that, which is frustrating. Because, well, you know me as this — but you also know I can do that. So let me! Give me the chance, and I have to break that cycle and open doors to something else, leaving people no choice. Other than that, she expressed her excitement over her OTT drama series 'Count My Lies', where she will act on the small screen, and will also work as a producer behind the camera!
The actress wishes for more challenging roles
Not only is the actress tired of being cast in typical stories, she is looking forward to something more challenging, more darker. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actress shared that, 'I would like to take on some more serious, dramatic roles', while also sharing that the typical romantic comedy roles feel more of an obligation to her at times.
She also shared that, 'I love doing romantic comedy because that's where my home is and I feel like where my fans want to see me, but I'd like to take on some things that are different; maybe find something that's an action-packed film. Just really show people a different side of me'.
