EastEnders star's son, 1, rushed to hospital after trampoline accident

Metro02-05-2025

Former EastEnders star James Bye's infant son was rushed to hospital excessively vomiting after suffering a fall on a trampoline.
Martin Fowler actor James and his wife of thirteen years Victoria share four children – Edward, ten, Louis, eight, Hugo, five, and Rufus, who turns two next month.
Victoria runs an Instagram account documenting life events for the family, and told her 130,000 followers that Rufus had been hospitalised after their recent holiday.
'So, it all started earlier this week, when just before bed the boys were outside on the trampoline. And I've said it before, (and I'll say it again) Those bloody trampolines will be the end of me' she said.
'And as I'm watching, somewhat half-heartedly (let's be honest, I'm shattered, it's half term, James is working & there's only so many 'Mummy watch me's' I can take) when Rufus, who was happily playing with a trail of ants (whatever keeps him quiet) suddenly clambered up & in slow motion took a spin, promptly landing on his head.
'After much crying (and frantic checking of doctor Google) he seemed to be ok & calling it a day, I thankfully got them all to bed.'
She called 111 during the night, and the youngster was subsequently diagnosed with gastroenteritis rather than concussion, with the rest of the clan then picking up the same bug.
According to the NHS, gastroenteritis is a common inflammation of the stomach and intestines caused by viruses, bacteria, or parasites.
Victoria continued: 'Over the next few days there has been a vom-fest the likes of which I've never seen before.
'I'm talking up the walls, in the door frame, all over the carpet & bum squits galore.

'Oh, and we were staying at James' folks at the time. With our blind dog who brought his own level of incontinence & then stood in the corner headbutting the wall.' More Trending
James left the BBC soap in February in explosive scenes – quite literally. The Queen Vic pub blew up, and Martin was trapped beneath the rubble.
Clambering through the wreckage to escape, he stopped for a heart to heart with ex-wife Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and was subsequently crushed by a falling beam.
James has already landed a new role, playing Mr Darcy in a production of Death Comes To Pemberley.

Meghan won't take orders from anyone – that's why her brand's in chaos & it's all her own fault, expert slams

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) ROYAL experts have slammed Meghan Markle, claiming her inability to take orders is behind the chaos surrounding her brand. The Duchess of Sussex's brand, As ever, is taking a short break after selling out all its items in just 45 minutes, according to Meghan. The Sun's former Royal Correspondent and author Charles Rae said: "I'm not a businessman, but I would have thought that if you were setting up a new company, you would have enough products on the shelves or whatever is kept to satisfy the demand." Shoppers snapped up £10 jam and £22 honey from Meghan's brand — though it's unclear how many sold before the products were declared out of stock. Royal experts believe that the lack of clarity from the brand stems from the Duchess "not wanting to take orders from anyone". "My view is that it is mainly, I would say, 90 per cent Megan who's running," said Charles. He added: "Who's running the show, because this is a woman who does not want to take orders from anybody." Royal Correspondent Sarah Hewson agreed and said: "She doesn't want to let go. "And I guess, you know, she is putting her name to it. But yes, it has been chaotic." The Duchess of Sussex has promised her As Ever goods will be back in stock this month - alongside "a few new things we can't wait to show you". The about-turn came hours after she was heard telling Beyonce's mother she had decided to "just pause" until completely ready. Meghan couldn't get Beyonce so settled for her mum… but even a global star couldn't save As Ever, expert slams Meghan appeared on her own podcast on Tuesday, recorded in May, telling Tina Knowles she feared annoying customers when the first batch of her jam and herbal teas sold out in less than an hour. She said wanted to wait until it is "completely stable and we have everything we need". Meghan has since shared a photo of jam-making preparations including bowls of strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, and freshly squeezed lemons, on her Instagram stories, writing: "'June gloom?' Not over here! Because this month your favourite products are back." Her official AsEver account also posted: "To all who've been wondering and waiting, thank you! "Your favorites are returning, plus a few NEW things we can't wait to show you. Coming this excited!" The Duchess's bonus Confessions Of A Female Founder episode with Knowles was recorded on May 5, the day before Prince Archie's sixth birthday. Meghan, who celebrated Princess Lilibet's fourth birthday on Wednesday by sharing previously unseen black and white family photographs of herself with her daughter, began selling her As Ever products in April. The range includes flower sprinkles, which she used liberally during her Netflix lifestyle show, and raspberry spread, a crepe mix, wildflower honey and an assortment of herbal teas. She renamed her brand from American Riviera Orchard after running into trademark issues. It comes after Meghan Markle shared heartwarming pictures of her daughter Lilibet to celebrate her fourth birthday. And Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz have reportedly hired Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's lawyer to help protect their reputations as their family feud escalates.

Speaking on the red carpet at the British Soap Awards, which is being screened on ITV1 tomorrow night at 8pm, she said: 'Obviously it's upsetting but also I'd been there for eight years, which is a long time to play a character, and I have absolutely loved being in the show. 'They gave me the opportunity to learn on the job and also now I am able take that onto other things that I do. 'Of course it's sad but at the same time it felt like a natural end, with the Taylors being gone, it kind of felt right. I'm now very excited about the future." Clair revealed how she took her character's iconic coat as a memento as well as the Walford Pride t-shirt she wore during the soap's first ever gay pride event. She said: "I have taken Bernie's coat. It was so iconic! And also the t-shirt that Bernie wore for Pride with 'Walford Pride' on it, little bits here and there. Also her badge when it was her birthday." She said: "My exit is very Bernie, and it's back to bad Bernie. It's very dramatic, and must-watch, I've already filmed my exit and it will play out later this summer." So could we see the return of your mum Karen? "I couldn't possibly say! Maybe, maybe not, you'll all have to watch." Clair celebrated with the rest of the Albert Square cast, who picked up a whooping eight gongs on the night, and is now planning her next move. Clair Norris looks worlds away from her character in stunning holiday snaps She said: "My plan is to work out what I want to do. EastEnders is the only thing I've ever done, so all I know is soap. 'I came from college and went straight into it. I think having a varied career, going into theatre would be great, and also, doing a drama would be great. I'm open to anything. 'I've just been on holiday which was great and the perfect timing. And now I'm back it's about getting cracking with show reels and self tapes." 3 Despite the sadness, Clair is now excited for what the future holds Credit: Getty
