Outlander's Sam Heughan urges fans to 'be careful' and warns of scammers

The Jamie Fraser star shared the message on social media
Outlander actor Sam Heughan has posted on social media, warning fans about scammers, after previously posting people about impersonating him earlier this year and one woman losing £10,000 after a fraudster pretended to be him.

The 45-year-old star of the Starz series and The Couple Next Door took to his Instagram Stories to share the message.

He wrote: 'Please be careful on social media! Myself (Or manager/agent/family etc) will NEVER reach out Asking [sic] for money or contact.'

The Jamie Fraser star concluded: 'If it's not verified, it's not me. Be careful of scammers!'
Heughan spoke out in February this year, asking his followers to exercise caution and care online with people pretending to be him.
He also issued a plea back in 2024 about scammers, suggesting they are still posing a threat to his fans.
The star's words come after he walked the red carpet at the Outlander: Blood of My Blood LA premiere with the rest of the cast and crew.
The actor can next be seen this autumn treading the boards in the Royal Shakespeare Company's latest production of Macbeth opposite The Crown's Lia Williams as Lady Macbeth.

The star also lends his voice to the factual film Clinging By A Claw, which raises the plight of the endangered Scottish wildcats and the hopes of conservationists to increase the species' numbers.

Those waiting for Outlander's eighth and final season still have some time to go after Starz confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con that the last outing would be hitting screens in early 2026.
Before then, fans of the Outlander universe can get their teeth stuck into Blood of My Blood, which started premiering recently and follows Jamie and Claire Fraser's (played by Caitríona Balfe) parents.
The prequel drama series uses the Outlander novels by Diana Gabaldon as a jumping-off point, before breaking new ground with an original story.

The show imagines what if Claire's parents Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine) and Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield) hadn't died in a car accident, but travelled through time.
Moreover, the couple interact with Jamie's parents Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy), and are integral to the forbidden, inter-clan romance blossoming.

Heughan has shown his support for the prequel and even posted a trailer for Blood of My Blood on his Instagram account.
He captioned the video: 'So proud of our @outlander_starz family!
'What a journey it has been and delighted to welcome the extremely talented @bloodofmybloodstarz cast to our world.
'The first two cracking episodes of 'Blood of my Blood' are airing now on @starz Can't wait to see more! X.'
Outlander season 8 will air on Starz and MGM+ via Prime Video in early 2026

Brian Blessed blasts ‘ignorant pigs' who put trigger warnings on Shakespeare plays

Hamlet audiences have been warned of 'coercive behaviour' and 'grief, suicide and mental illness' Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) ACTOR Brian Blessed has howled down trigger warnings on Shakespeare plays — and he didn't bother with poetic Bard-style language by dismissing them as 'b***s'. The thunderous-voiced thespian labelled theatre bosses 'ignorant pigs'. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up The Sun told of Hamlet audiences being warned of 'coercive behaviour' and 'grief, suicide and mental illness' at London's National Theatre. There have also been warnings about Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet. Flash Gordon star Brian, 88, has appeared in Henry V, Macbeth and Much Ado About Nothing. He told a sci-fi convention: 'It's bs. It's f***ing Shakespeare. 'He is the greatest writer on the planet. 'People see his plays the length and breadth of this country and they are full of amazing things. 'There are so many ignorant pigs around.' To hammer his point home, Blessed then quoted a famous line from The Tempest adding: 'Prospero said 'We are such stuff as dreams are made on and our little life is rounded with a sleep'.' It means our short lives are fleeting like dreams and therefore not real - just like the action people see in plays on a stage. Blessed made a name for himself after appearing in movies Flash Gordon, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves as well as on TV shows Z-Cars, Blackadder and I, Claudius. Juliet Stevenson: I need to speak about Gaza, otherwise I'd go mad

In my last year at school I bought David Bowie's Hunky Dory and Imagine by John Lennon. I was getting very politicised around the age of 16, and I was interested in music that was about the world, not just love songs. I've always sought to make work that speaks to the world we're living in now and I never thought those musical influences were part of that, but now I see they must have been. Seeing Richard II at the Royal Shakespeare Company when I was 16 changed my life. I saw it six times that year. I'd hitch up to Stratford-upon-Avon from Surrey, get a 50p ticket at the box office and stand. Teach Shakespeare in school, but for heaven's sake get those kids to say it out loud and feel the energy of the words. I grew up on military bases abroad because my father was an army officer, so reading was a big part of our entertainment. I adored The Famous Five, not least because I ardently identified with George. She's probably still one of my greatest role models. I was not a little girl who wanted to wear dresses and play with dolls, I was headstrong and outdoorsy. • The BBC's William the Conqueror: We've taken liberties with our 1066 drama Women in Love. I was about 15 and at boarding school in England. We all put lipstick on and snuck out and stood on our tiptoes at the box office to look older. It was life-changing — so sexy and hot and mad. I liked Glenda Jackson because she wasn't overly glamorous like other movie stars when I was growing up. She had this incredibly striking intellect. I've always been looking to get out of the traditional boxes that women in our industry are placed in. I didn't act because I saw glamorous women on TV, I acted because I wanted to communicate human experience. When I joined Rada I was 18 — I didn't wear make-up and had my hair all over my face. They'd say: 'Juliet, you've got to cut your hair, put make-up on.' I'd go: 'What's that got to do with anything?' • The best shows in London and the UK to book now I was undergoing a medical procedure that, let's just say, was of a very private nature. Partway through, the doctor said to me: 'By the way, my wife so enjoyed your Hedda Gabler.' Anonymity had never seemed sweeter. While I don't really get overwhelmed by fame, I do feel an obligation to use my platform to speak about Gaza. The narrative has been so outrageously distorted, and when I read reports about what's happening, I don't know what to do with myself. Activism is my way of processing that, otherwise I'd go mad. I was hanging on to the end of flower power in the late Seventies so I'd wear hot-pant dungarees that were very short shorts with a bib that I'd stitched flowers on to. One of my greatest joys now is swapping clothes with my daughter. • Read more TV reviews, guides about what to watch and interviews When I was 18 I volunteered in a home for disabled people in Hackney. One of the young women, Kim, was only 15 and she was crazy about Donny Osmond, so I took her to his concert at Earls Court. It was quite intimidating walking into that huge auditorium packed with screaming girls, especially with a teenage girl in a wheelchair also screaming. I have no idea when or how I saw it, but I just remember weeping and weeping at Whistle Down the Wind. It's an exquisite black-and-white film about the loss of innocence. I'd probably still cry if I watched the whole thing now. I still pinch myself. I never even thought I'd get into Rada. I was so odd. I'm frightened every time I perform, but I think when you lose fear, you probably get quite boring. The Land of the Living is at the National Theatre, London, Sep 9-Nov 1. Outlander Blood of My Blood's Jamie Roy makes surprising Sam Heughan admission

Outlander Blood of My Blood delves into the love lives of Jamie and Claire Fraser's parents. Blood of My Blood actor Jamie Roy has candidly talked about his surprise when he first met Outlander legend Sam Heughan. ‌ Blood of My Blood is now releasing new episodes every Saturday on MGM+, following the remarkable love stories of Jamie Fraser's (played by Sam Heughan) parents Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy) and Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater, and Claire Fraser's (Caitriona Balfe) mum and dad Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine) and Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield). ‌ To mark its eagerly anticipated debut, the leading cast gathered for its official London screening, followed by a Q&A where Roy spoke of what surprised him about Heughan. ‌ 'From the get-go, we had a phone call which was great, 20 minutes before we started shooting and we just talked about some stuff and he was so excited about it," Roy explained. 'And then we met for a coffee about halfway through shooting and up until this point, so many people had said to me 'Oh you and Sam are so alike' and I'm like 'yeah, yeah, whatever, heard it.' 'And then I met him, and we sat across from each other and there was a point in the conversation where we were both stopped talking and looked at each other kind of like 'What the f***? We're exactly the same.'' Their bond quickly proved to go far beyond their work in the Outlander universe though. He shared: 'We talked about work for like five minutes and just started talking about Scottish things like mountains and whiskey and mountains. ‌ 'His support throughout this whole thing has been amazing. He came out to the premiere which was so lovely to see.' 'And he had never seen any of the episodes before, so him seeing that for the first time with the fans is something he said he wanted. To watch it with the fans as a fan, I thought was just a class act. ‌ 'We are very happy to have him in our corner.' There has been no confirmation so far on whether or not either Heughan or Balfe are going to feature in Blood of My Blood at some point. The prequel has already been green lit for a second season though and given that an important element of the show is time travel, this could provide the opportunity for the original stars to make an appearance at some point.
