Oman's Khareef Dhofar 2025 Season Opens with Spectacular Natural Beauty, Cultural Events
The Sultanate of Oman officially kicked off the Khareef Dhofar 2025 season, welcoming visitors to one of the region's most unique climatic and tourism phenomena. Running through September 20, the three-month monsoon season transforms Dhofar's coastal and mountainous landscape into lush green scenery, drawing travelers from across the globe.
The Dhofar Municipality has announced an extensive lineup of cultural, recreational, and tourism activities under the theme of innovation and authenticity.
The event aims to enhance Dhofar's position as a premier international tourism destination while celebrating Omani heritage and traditions.
'We all unite to prepare the conditions, events, and facilities necessary to make Khareef Dhofar 2025 exceptional and successful across 90 days of joy and natural splendor,' said His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, who also extended a warm welcome to all visitors.
Triggered by monsoon winds from the Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean, Khareef brings cool temperatures, mist-covered mountains, and light rainfall to areas stretching from Dhalkut in the west to Mirbat in the east.

Pedro Pascal Eyeing Tony Gilroy's Next Movie "Behemoth!"
Yara Sameh Following a busy 2025 that included an Emmy nominated performance and a Marvel Studios movie, Pedro Pascal isn't looking to slow down as he is in talks to star in writer-director Tony Gilroy's next movie "Behemoth!". Searchlight Pictures recently came on to the project which Gilroy will write and direct. Plot details are under wraps at the time but Gilroy has said in interviews that the film revolves around a cellist. Gilroy would also produce with Sanne Wohlenberg. The movie is set to begin principal photography this fall in Los Angeles, with release plans to be announced at a later date. Pascal is coming off a hugely successful summer, with A24 and Celine Song's "Materialists," A24 and Ari Aster's "Eddington" and Marvel's "Fantastic Four: First Steps." All three projects premiered to widespread critical acclaim, with "Materialists" being A24's third highest grossing opening ever, and "Fantastic Four: First Steps" being Marvel's highest grossing opening of 2025. "Fantastic Four: First Steps" kicked off the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Pascal recently wrapped production on the next Avengers movie, "Avengers: Doomsday," which will premiere in 2026. Also in 2026. He will also reprise his role as Din Djarin in "Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu." On the TV side, Pascal most recently earned a Lead Actor Emmy nomination for his performance in season two of HBO's "The Last of Us". He garnered Lead Actor Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominations and won a Screen Actors Guild Award for his performance in season 1. Film "Saffah Al-Tagamoa" Adds Mariam El Gendy to Cast
Yara Sameh Egyptian actress Mariam El Gendy has joined Ahmed El Fishawy and Cynthia Khalifeh in the film "The Fifth Settlement Murderer" ("Saffah Al-Tagamoa"). Written and directed by Mohamed Salah Al-Azab and produced by Ahmed El Sobky, the film features El Fishawy playing Karim Selim, known in the media as the Saffah Al-Tagamoa. This is the second project to be developed about the murderer. In June 2024, Azab, the scribe of the crime TV series "Saffah Al Giza", is penning the series. The 8-episode show is produced by Ahmed El Sobky and has actor Hassan El Raddad lined up to take the lead role. Dubbed "the Fifth Settlement Murderer", in connection with a luxurious gated community on the outskirts of Cairo where he lived and killed his victims, Selim, a 36-year-old man and holder of a US passport, admitted during interrogation in May 2024 that he killed an unidentified number of women, other than the three whose bodies were discovered earlier that month. In the next weeks, the bodies of the women were discovered separately, each unclothed in deserted areas in provinces outside Cairo, as their clothes were extracted in other faraway areas afterward. The autopsy reports suggest that the three women were killed by the same person, as all showed similar signs of torture, including strangulation and flogging wounds. The evidence against the perpetrator also included a fingerprint on one of the women's clothes. Laboratory tests of the components of their stomach and blood further indicated narcotics in their system. Following investigations and the examination of CCTV footage in the areas leading to the location of the bodies, security forces managed to identify and apprehend the suspect. The authorities confiscated two mobile phones and a laptop belonging to him, on which he videotaped the incidents committed inside a soundproof room at his flat allocated for his practices. The videos in question showed him performing intercourse with his victims after they died. During interrogation, the suspect confessed that he knew his victims online, some of whom he claimed were courtesans. The suspect asked them to come over to his home, where he performed unusual sexual activities with them before he forced the women to consume drugs and killed them. The suspect acquired a college degree from the most prestigious university in Egypt, the American University in Cairo, and had worked as a teacher at an international school before he quit his job. Kevin Hart, John Cena Team on Netflix Movie "The Leading Man"
Yara Sameh Writers Jon and Erich Hoeber have sold Netflix on the pitch for "The Leading Man," an action comedy based on the comic book series from Jeremy Haun and B. Clay Moore, with Kevin Hart and John Cena attached to star and produce. In early development, the project brings the Hoebers back to Netflix following the sale of their original script "Fast & Loose," an actioner to star Will Smith, which is currently in pre-production and looking for a new director. The pic's logline is as follows: When a self-absorbed movie star (Cena) discovers that his co-star/man in the chair (Hart) is an actual agent, he's forced to swallow his pride and accept that action stars aren't really action heroes…while trying to save the world. Hart will produce alongside Luke Kelly-Clyne and Bryan Smiley for "Hartbeat," under the company's multi-film deal with Netflix, along with Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum for RK Films, Eric Gitter and Peter Schwerin for Ignition Productions, Cena, and Dan Baime. Executive producers include Zak Roth for RK Films, Jon and Erich Hoeber, and Jeremy Haun for Ignition. News of Hart's involvement with "The Leading Man" comes amid his work on "72 Hours," a Netflix comedy helmed by Tim Story, where he'll star alongside Marcello Hernández and Mason Gooding. The comedic multi-hyphenate's previous output for the giant streamer includes the films "Fatherhood," "Me Time," The Man from Toronto," and "Lift, along with the limited series "True Story." Recently at work on "Little Brother," a Netflix comedy where he'll star opposite Eric André, Cena is coming off of "Heads of State," an Amazon MGM action comedy co-starring Idris Elba, which has brought in over 75 million worldwide viewers since its July 2nd launch on Prime Video, making it the fourth most-watched Amazon MGM film of all-time on Amazon's OTT service.
