Dogs and cats may have been domesticated over thousands of years to become the pets we know and love today, but they aren't the only animals that form special bonds with people. Farm animals like horses and cows can be just as affectionate with the humans they love, just like the adorable, special cows @arielsk8ts gets to visit with every day.
These incredible cows are a special breed of bovine native to hot, humid areas like Costa Rica, where this sweet video was filmed on July 19. Ariel went to visit the herd on her neighbor's ranch and was surprised by two new calves, who were just as excited to meet her as she was to meet them.
Could they be any cuter? These floppy-eared cows look like the picture of serenity in their lush green pasture, but the babies provide that much-needed chaos and comic relief! Like typical siblings, these adorable calves can't help but push past one another to get closer to their new friend.
"OMG, their ears!" one commenter posted. "This is so cute and wholesome. Thank you for sharing."It seems like a dream come true to have these friendly farm animals ready to say hello whenever Ariel needs a pick-me-up. Animals have a way of lifting our spirits without even trying, whether it's a snuggly pet dog or a curious baby cow.
But what kind of cows are we looking at, exactly? Another commenter took the words out of my mouth when they wrote, "What type of cows are these? When I was in Thailand, I saw one of these cows and thought that it was the prettiest cow I've ever seen."
Brahman Cows
They're Brahman cows! This hybrid cattle breed (also called Brahmin or Brahma) is a type of zebu cow that's built to withstand hot and humid weather. They have a camel-like hump on their back to help them store water and stay cool, but their cutest feature is undoubtedly their huge, floppy ears.
I had the pleasure of meeting two huge Brahman bulls while staying in Costa Rica for a friend's wedding last summer. The bride even made her grand entrance on a traditional cart pulled by these beauties!
They were the most friendly and easygoing cows I have ever met, and they seemed perfectly content to pose for photos and stroll (extremely slowly) through the resort grounds. Seeing them every day was one of the highlights of the trip!
I can see why Ariel visits her bovine neighbors as often as possible. There's so much to love about these special cows, especially the curious new babies!

What time is ‘Bachelor in Paradise' on tonight? How to watch Episode 6, who's left and more

Are you ready to hit the beach? Bachelor in Paradise is back on the beach for Season 10 of the steamy summer Bachelor spinoff. After taking a break last year, the franchise's fun and flirty summer series has returned with some new twists. This time around, we aren't just getting fan favorites from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette; we're also getting more time with some of the Golden Bachelor contestants. Bachelor Nation has also teased that this season will introduce new 'challenges' — and I don't think they just mean navigating the age gap in the contestant pool! So far this season, we've seen the arrival of the Goldens, the messy faux-triangle of Justin, Lexi and Susie and a few May-December friendships between April and the younger male contestants. Tonight's episode will see the contestants confronted with the newly introduced cash prize — and it seems $500,000 is enough pressure to fracture some couples. Are you ready to watch?
