Dave Bautista to Star in Dystopian Sci-Fi Thriller "Dreadnought"

Yara Sameh
Dave Bautista (Guardians Of The Galaxy, Dune) is set to reunite with his "Bushwick" directors Cary Murnion and Jonathan Milott in the dystopian thriller "Dreadnought".
Penned by Joseph Greenberg, the movie follows Max (Bautista), whose world was devastated when an alien species crash-landed on Earth, unleashing a deadly plague that claimed his wife and much of humanity.
The movie's official logline reads: "In the fragile society that remains, humans have learned to coexist with their extraterrestrial invaders. But for Max, survival isn't enough, his older daughter, Greta, is dying from the disease. As her body weakens, an alien Sentinel lurks outside their home, drawing nearer and nearer as Greta takes her final breaths. This silent, unyielding predator is on a mission to collect her body to fulfill an unstoppable metamorphosis ritual. The government sanctions it. Society accepts it. But Max refuses to have anything else taken from him.'
Producers include Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee of Thunder Road (John Wick franchise), Jason Ross Jallet, Andrew Bronfman, and Jonathan Bronfman of Beyond The Frame (Bride Hard), Dave Bautista and Ashley Daniels of Dogbone Entertainment (Trap House), with executive producer Noah Segal of Elevation Pictures (Infinity Pool).
Marz VFX (The Creator) will oversee the visual effects. WME Independent is launching sales ahead of the EFM in Berlin.

Netflix's "Gears of War" Movie Adaptation Finds Its Director in David Leitch

Yara Sameh David Leitch is in negotiations to helm "Gears of War", Netflix's big-budget adaptation of one of the biggest video game franchises on the Xbox platform. Jon Spaihts, who is working with Denis Villeneuve on adapting Frank Herbert's Dune books for Legendary, is writing the script for the film for which Netflix has partnered with The Coalition Studio, the Canadian game developer behind the franchise. Leitch and his wife and producing partner, Kelly McCormick, will produce the feature via their 87North banner along with The Coalition. The game is set on a planet on the brink of societal collapse when a monstrous threat in the form of underground creatures known as the Locust take humanity to the verge of extinction. Delta Squad, a ragtag fireteam led by disgraced sergeant Marcus Fenix, is now charged with leading humanity's last stand. Netflix picked up the rights to the popular video game franchise in November 2022 with grand ambitions. The giant streamer hopes to first adapt the game as a feature, then follow that up with an adult animated series. More work would follow in success. Coming out of the stunt world, Leitch is slowly crafting a wide-ranging résumé even as he stays in the action lane. "Fall Guy", starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, was a love letter to the stunt and moviemaking community. The Brad Pitt-led "Bullet Train" was a contained, twisty assassin thriller, while "Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw" was a franchise play. Also on his list are comic book movie "Deadpool 2" and period spy thriller "Atomic Blonde". Leitch is now in prep on "How to Rob a Bank", a heist thriller for Amazon MGM that will star Nicholas Hoult and Anna Sawai. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers Lifestyle Pistachio and Raspberry Cheesecake Domes Recipe News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War

"John Wick" Spinoff "Ballerina" Final Trailer Released

Yara Sameh Ana de Armas' new John Wick spin-off is due in theaters in less than one month, and the spinoff just got its most thrilling new look yet. Lionsgate has released a new trailer for "Ballerina", which hits theaters on June 6 and stars Armas as Eve Macarro, a Russian ballerina-turned-assassin with an eye for vengeance against the men who killed her family. The film also returns franchise veteran Keanu Reeves to the role of John Wick, with other stars such as Ian McShane and the late Lance Reddick reprising their roles as Winston and Charon, respectively. Norman Reedus, best known for his role in The Walking Dead, will also star in Ballerina. The new footage features several new scenes and footage of both Armas' Eve and Reeves' John Wick, including one showing John eyeing Eve with a sniper. 'Ballerina' takes place between 'John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum' and 'John Wick: Chapter 4,' expanding the assassin role originally played by Unity Phelan with de Armas' take on the character. The film comes two years after audiences saw Reeves in the fourth entry, which became the highest-grossing installment in the series with a worldwide gross of over $440 million. Altogether, the first four 'John Wick' films grossed over $1 billion worldwide. This latest installment in the 'John Wick' universe marks another turn from de Armas as an action star following her roles in 'No Time to Die' with Daniel Craig and 'Ghosted' alongside Chris Evans. In 2023, de Armas received her first Oscar nomination for her turn as Marilyn Monroe in Andrew Dominik's 'Blonde.' This isn't the first time 'John Wick' has ventured into spinoffs: the prequel miniseries 'The Continental,' starring Mel Gibson, released on Peacock back in September 2023. 'Ballerina' is directed by Len Wiseman ('Underworld') and written by Shay Hatten ('Army of the Dead'). Kaley Smalley Romo executive produces alongside Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee and Chad Stahelski, who all produced the first four 'John Wick' films. 'Ballerina' releases in theaters June 6 from Lionsgate. "John Wick 5" Is a New Story and Will Be Really Different, Says Director

Yara Sameh The plot of 'John Wick 5″ may not be what fans are expecting. In a recent discussion with Empire, franchkise director Chad Stahelski said the fifth 'John Wick' installment will be really different since the High Table storyline from the first four films reached its conclusion. 'The saga of John Wick was pretty wrapped up,' the filmmaker said. 'So the only way to do a [fifth film] is to have a new story that involves John Wick. It's not a continuation with the High Table. John dealt with his grief. It will be really different, and everybody [will] see the trailer and go, 'Holy fuck… I gotta see that.'' Luckily for fans, there is plenty of John Wick content on the horizon to tide them over until the fifth film, including 'Ballerina' starring Ana de Armas, the 'Under The High Table' TV show and an animated prequel film about Wick's exit from being a full-time assassin. Stahelski added that the 'High Table' series and the animated project will play a big role in setting up the story for 'John Wick 5.' 'The John Wick TV show and the animation are big priorities,' he said. 'Our idea is to try some things and explore some threads and use those two properties to catapult us forward into the ideas for 'John 5.'' The next Wick-verse project to hit theaters will be 'Ballerina,' which debuts June 6. Set after the events of 'John Wick: Chapter 3,' the film follows de Armas as an 'assassin trained in the traditions of the Ruska Roma organization [who] sets out to seek revenge after her father's death,' according to the official logline. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers Lifestyle Pistachio and Raspberry Cheesecake Domes Recipe News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Bouchra Dahlab Crowned Miss Arab World 2025 ..
