Supercross 2025 results: 250 highlights, finish order, at Denver, Haiden Deegan wins round and title
Haiden Deegan passed Cole Davies late in Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado, and won his third feature of the season after leading the last two laps of the 250 West divisional race. By knocking Davies off course into a flat area surrounded by berms, he rode to a 13-second win as the only rider who could have contested his championship hopes in Salt Lake City lost enough points to allow Deegan to clinch the 2025 250 West championship.
Deegan finished second in the 2023 and 2024 250 East championships in his first two full-time attempts at this level. Throughout the season, he repeatedly expressed the importance of winning all three SuperMotocross championships before moving up to the 450 division. Deegan will enter the 2025 250 Pro Motocross season as the defending champion. He has also won the first two SuperMotocross World Championship 250 titles.

Julien Beaumer came out of the gates strong at the beginning of the season with second-place finishes in the two Anaheim, California, races and a victory in San Diego. He did not grace the podium again in his next five starts. His fortune changed in Denver, where he overcame a sixth-place finish in his heat and a sixth-place start in the feature at the conclusion of Lap 1. Beaumer steadily worked his way through the field, climbing to fifth on Lap 3, fourth on Lap 4, and into podium contention on Lap 13. Beaumer was destined to finish third before the late-race contact between Deegan and Davies.
Garrett Marchbanks was another beneficiary of the internecine battle. He moved his way through the field from eighth on the opening lap to fourth on Lap 13. Marchbanks scored his second consecutive podium in 250 West only competition, but he struggled in the most recent East / West Showdown and will have to face the Eastern divisional riders again this week in Salt Lake City.

Jordon Smith gave Triumph its first win in Glendale, Arizona, and then immediately hit hard times. He crashed in the first feature of a Triple Crown format in Arlington, Texas, and finished 22nd. Still banged up from that accident, he was 12th in Seattle, Washington, and ninth in Philadelphia. Smith would undoubtedly have preferred to finish on the podium, but his fourth-place finish was a step in the right direction.
Davies was on his way to a third consecutive victory before he mismanaged traffic and allowed Deegan to close in on the lead. Finishing fifth tied for his third-worst result of the season. He was also fifth in the Indianapolis East / West Showdown.

"Really tough day" for Fabio Quartararo as Yamaha struggles at Aragon MotoGP
The low-grip Aragon track was a prime suspect to expose the deficiencies of Yamaha's YZR-M1 machine and unfortunately for Fabio Quartararo and the Japanese manufacturer the issue was in the spotlight. There was no shortage of sympathy for the luckless Frenchman whose Yamaha machine snapped and jumped seemingly on the exit of every corner around the track during Friday practice. Advertisement To add insult to injury, Quartararo's Yamaha was joint-slowest through the speed trap, almost 10 km/h (6 mph) slower than Brad Binder's KTM. The inability to put power down on the tarmac was undoubtedly a key factor in the speed difference. With frantic gesticulation while out on track, it was clear that Quartararo wasn't pleased. He left the garage as soon as the session was over, preferring to cool down before he dived into the debriefs. At least Quartararo could see the funny side when he spoke to the media, as he hops from one end of the grid to the other this weekend. 'We almost made the pole position on the other side [at the back of the grid],' joked the Frenchman initially. 'A really, really tough day especially with the soft tyre. We don't understand what really happened with electronics and stuff but not the best day and especially [since] we don't understand why. 'The problem is that you never know when to expect it and in our case, it is not the best when you are on the bike fully in angle and you never know if you're going to lose it on the edge or on the exit and I didn't make any lap. The four laps I did was all cutting and making mistakes so we will have to find a solution.' 'The set-up is good," said the 2021 MotoGP champion. "We have to just understand why when we change rubber it completely changes our bike, and our electronics become crazy.' Yamaha team director Massimo Meregalli was equally disappointed in the session understanding the problem suffered by his riders as Quartararo and Alex Rins finished the Friday in 18th and 15th respectively. 'They are suffering the same problem, it's the rear grip,' Meregalli said. 'They are losing the rear a lot. Every time they try, they lose the rear. So they have to try to understand how to at least reduce the slide and improve the performance. Johnson proving doubters wrong at Spurs
Brennan Johnson scored 18 goals for Tottenham last season and two for Wales [Getty Images] Wales forward Brennan Johnson has "proved people wrong" with his performances for Tottenham, says club and country teammate Ben Davies. Johnson capped an impressive season by scoring the Europa League final winner against Manchester United last month to earn Spurs their first trophy since 2008. Advertisement The goal was Johnson's 20th of the campaign for club and country, a goal-scoring tally which Davies says is a fitting riposte to criticism the forward received in the early stages of his Spurs career following a £45m move from Nottingham Forest. "Brennan's shown this year that he's a top, top player and proven a lot of people wrong," said Davies, who's preparing for Wales' June World Cup qualifiers. Johnson struggled for consistency when he first moved to north London, scoring just five goals for Spurs in 2023-24, prompting criticism from fans on social media that even led the player to deactivate his Instagram account. But Davies believes the 24-year-old's form in 2024-25 - which included scoring in seven successive games for club and country at one point - proves he does have the calibre to thrive at Spurs. Motocross 2025 450 results, highlights, finish at Hangtown: Jett Lawrence wins overall, Eli Tomac Moto 1
The potential for a perfect season came to a rapid end in Moto 1 of the Hangtown Motocross Classic in Rancho Cordova, California, after a slow start and excessive heat relegated Jett Lawrence to a third-place finish, but he surged to the top of the leaderboard in Moto 2 and earned the overall victory with a 3-1. The Moto 1 loss was one of the few times Jett has been beaten in head-to-head Pro Motocross competition, and the third time he lost a moto on this track. A hard crash in the 2024 Hangtown race dropped Lawrence to 24th in Moto 1, and the effect of that accident contributed to a sixth-place finish in Moto 2. He rebounded immediately to score the overall victory in the next three rounds with four moto wins and a pair of second-place results. Aaron Plessinger lost track of the time on the clock late in the first moto and slowed, allowing Eli Tomac to blast past. Once he realized his mistake, the lost momentum was enough to put him in the clutches of third-place Jett. He was fortunate to fend off the 2023 Motocross champion and finish second in Moto 1. A third-place finish in Moto 2 after a fierce contest with Hunter Lawrence gave him the second position in the overall standings. Advertisement Justin Cooper replicated his career-best moto finish in the second race of the Hangtown Motocross Classic, but a fourth-place result cost enough points to relegate him to third in the overall standings. Cooper finished third in two rounds last year, at Thunder Valley and Spring Creek. As well as Moto 1 went for Tomac, the second race was the polar opposite. He got bumped coming out of the gate and entered Turn 1 in last place. Tomac charged through the field and was challenging for fifth with a realistic opportunity of catching up to second-place Cooper when he tucked a wheel and crashed. Tomac remounted in 12th, regained three positions to finish ninth, but the damage was done. He missed the podium by two positions (about 16 seconds) on the track. Hunter was part of last week's incredible podium that featured three riders returning from injury, but the effects of his shoulder problems in Supercross may not be completely gone. He rode well and swept the top five, but results of fifth in Moto 1 and fourth in Moto 2 combined to place him fifth overall in the standings. Advertisement Cooper Webb finished seventh in both motos, earning 30 points, which allowed him to maintain his combined SuperMotocross League lead. Missing the race after the effects of his hard Round 1 crash dropped Chase Sexton to a 17-point deficit for the top seeding entering the playoffs.
